I so enjoy watching you all bring a touch of charm and attention to detail to your projects. And I love the interaction between everyone, too. I have a suggestion I hope you follow. Before you touch the floor in the room where a leak has recently occurred, please bring down the moisture level in the wood (which has memory - you will be surprised at how seamlessly it lays back into place). Takes time of course - well worth the wait. Use a dehumidifier and make it the final room you restore, allowing the floor boards time to obtain normal moisture content.

I was in the retail fireplace business for 26 years in the States and I never saw a fireplace with a pull down screen like you there in France. I find that fascinating. Michael did such a great job polishing up the fireplace and mantel, it's beautiful. And thanks for the tour of the other bedrooms, I hadn't seen much of that part of your chateau before and I'm happy to see that there will be plenty of video's if the future.

My pet runt of the litter loved her fluffy clean bed, and her baths, polishing her trotters, and picking a satin bow for her neck every morning. Given the option, they like to be clean (unless rolling in mud to protect from horseflies and the like). They are incredibly smart, make better guards than dogs, and form very deep bonds with people. Best pet you could ever have. As a runt, Fey only grew to the size of a shoat, even though her DNA was from two very big pigs. I still miss her.🖤🇨🇦

Those gorgeous giant tubs have a lot of potential. I would maybe put one right out in the middle of the garden and just grow a hole bunch of flowers in and around it and make it a feature. I would even add the fancy shower head coming up because it would look charming. Maybe keep two just in case you ever decide to put a tub somewhere?

Great to hear that the paper can be recreated, sorry to hear that it's expensive (but no surprises there). I think that whatever rooms you put that paper in are going to be amazing. Can't wait!
If you want an easy way to clean brass I find tomato sauce strips it right back. Do a test patch first to make sure you aren’t exposing any copper joins. It all looks beautiful. Great work. Your work is so detailed. Thank you. May you all please take care and stay safe. Louisa.

Hey guys, really enjoying the process and progress on the Chateau ❤ here's a couple unsolicited tips and tricks...to remove old paint from metal...spritz with rubbing alcohol and wipe clean...it basically comes off by itself! Also if you're removing a cast iron bathtub...and aren't wanting to save it for future use, wack it with a sledge hammer, it will bust into pieces and be much easier to get down the stairs and to the decheterie😂
I loved the tour . I thought the same as you Billy a cinema . I would actually also find a room to make a mini laundry /cleaning storage linen room . Also an area for a tea beverage station . Honestly dragging laundry up down stairs you will appreciate it as you gracefully age . Your family guest or guest could also wash their laundry before heading home . But you don’t have to haul linens to change over .
I’m glad you mentioned about the wall covering by Lyncrusta (spelling?). I’ve been wondering what happened about that. Fireplace looks awesome after all that cleaning and bufffing ❤

Hi Billy and Michael. I loved the tour. On the floor or wing where you can only have one bathroom, would you consider make a bedroom suite of rooms? Bedroom, dressing room and bathroom and maybe a morning room?
You could paint the inside of the fireplace black, and put some chunky white cylinder candles at different levels and maybe some fake roses around them for a romantic fire

When I polish brass, I use a heat gun to warm it up a bit so the polish will melt a bit and do a better job. Works great! The fireplace came out NICE! Nice tour. You have LOTS of work to do. Videos for years! LOL 👍👍
