I grew up, and still live near, Collinsville Connecticut. You have a piece of our states extensive manufacturing history. It brings me joy to see someone so far away restoring these tools and treating them with respect. Take care of it, and your grandkids will be sharing the same joy you show in this video.
I promise I will... It was a very informative and kind way to reach out to me.... This tool is still here and will remain here for years and years to come
Nice to see someone having the same laugh as me when I took my first collins legitimus connecticut head out of the packing, now I have that and a plumb with a couple more on the way. I also like how that looks on a 28" inch handle.
I like the looks of this axe. I have a old collins axe that I am currently restoring. I prefer a long handle which keeps the head away from my body and gives me a heavy hit. This style is for felling and really bites nice. Ty for sharing
Beautiful axe in a beautiful place! What pant are you wearing? made of wool? Thank you for sharing your wonderful video's! It truly is a wonderful escape to open your channel. Very well done sir!
Outstanding video Thomas....I live In Connecticut near where the legitumus heads were made. These heads were created to process New England hardwoods. They will eat up the soft woods of Norway with no problem.
Hi From Denmark... Such a super cool comment... Thx so much... And I don't have experience in hard wood from other countries... But we do have some in denmark

Those old Collins are pretty special 👍🇺🇸 thanks for sharing
For me no axe is a wallhanger, not yet anyway. They all have a story, of one variety or another, and we are the caretakers of that story.
That acts is a Connecticut pattern Collins. I have the same head and it's my favorite.

Axes are tools meant to be used, I think it’s disrespectful to not use a beautiful axe.
