Hi Janet. I hope everyone started off today with warmth, safety and hot food. It's 15 degrees F here now. Baking anything from scratch is a science, for certain. I'm grateful for a roof and four walls let alone adequate kitchen space. Many thanks, Janet. Stay safe, warm and well. Likewise for your family and viewers. Shivering Walt on America's North coast
Jan I did a video on my channel of my baking cabinet. Just a wall cupboard in my kitchen but boy does it make baking easier. I keep dried fruits, coconut, coco powder, etc in there. Never gave to go looking for stuff. Great video.
It is smart & efficient to have a baking station. I have "stations" for various things; they make life easier. For example, when I was babysitting grandkids, I had 2 bottle-making stations, one downstairs & one upstairs. I had water, formula.
Excellent advice! I do keep my supplies in one area, but listening to you made me think. What was it that bothered me about the whole process? It came to me that things like my sugars, oats, etc. are all in the beautiful big glass jars. Looks great, but to me they are heavy and cumbersome. The lids are a bit finiky as well and hard to get back on correctly. All that will often deter me from baking and i didnt even realize it! I need to get some snaller, easir containers to work with i think. Thanks for making .me think! ❤❤❤
I have a plastic shoebox, without the lid, in my cabinet with all the baking potions in it.....baking spices, extracts, baking powder, etc. I bought a cheap set of measuring cups from the dollar tree, and put them in the canisters of sugar, flour, etc. I still have another set, for bigger jobs, or non-baking, but it's handy to have these as scoops in the canisters. I have some reused jam jars with sugar, flour, kosher salt......it's handy to have the small jars for when i just need a bit for cooking, rather than lug out the big canisters. When I'm going to bake something, if it's not right away, but maybe later or the next day, I go ahead and put the dry ingredients in a bowl, cover it, measure the sugar into another, cover it, and then when I'm ready to bake, that's all done already. Sometimes I even grease the pan, and put it in the fridge 'till i need it, lol

That question only you could answer, because it depends on your situation.
Great tips my baking cabinet is the only cabinet that’s organized by baking. Everything else is all over the place.😢
That's great!
