I dropped my p20 pro 15ft from an escalator with a protective casing, it withstood the fall, no physical damage on the back and screen. Love this device that I will never let that happen again lol.

yes it will the glass they used is garbage the kirin 970 is garbage and the camera is way overhyped the pixel 2, s9 plus and iphone x still look better in everything other than low light ill give the p20 that the low light is great but other than that its like an lg, meh.

I don't like people peeping my notifications so don't feel it needs fixing. I like that it clears notifications when you look at them via notification shade. I like a clean lock screen to admire the image there. I don't like that things can be turned off/on from lock screen. Couldn't you add a lock screen shortcut.

10:30 I actually find it better that it's not possible to control toggles such as GPS and wifi, as it makes it theft proof. :P And that others can't really look at your messages and notifications for privacy reasons. Though, I think it should be an option for the user to have it the other way. Hmmm.

Yes fantastic phone. Only 2 tinks upset me and you don't have the problem on you video.
How do you open notification from the middle of the screen. On my p20 I get Search bar. And also how do you open app list by swapping from the bottom of the screen.

I solved the lack of headphone jack in a somewhat expensive way by buying the free buds 3. I'm really happy with the phone and amazed with the buds. And to think I considered switching from android to iPhone. It would have costed me around 1000 euros to get comparable hardware and I still wouldn't have a case, the buds, and a quick charger. Huawei included the charger and a case with the device. Amazing

The no pulling down of the quick settings tray on the lock screen is a good feature for security. You don't want someone to be able to pull down and turn on airplane mode if they steal your phone.

that Night Mode is very nice, yet I happen to disagree with your remark "now looks much more realistic". Unless, of course, the nightmode picture shows the exact amount of detail as you were able to detect by eyesight, in that dim lighted room :) Yet we can't judge that, so it would have been helpful if you had added "shows exactly the detail I can see in this room right now" , Thanks for yor review, I am impressed with the camera. One question though: is there some sort of RAW option on the phone, so that I can grade in post later on?

Tim, you kept using the word Aestetically pertaining to the notch. It is a functionality issue when the notch gets in the way no matter how many times you use the word Aestetically.
Either there is a camera bump because the camera hardware requires it to be thick OR it is the way they keep the phone so thin as it relates to the battery size.
Battery life on my v30 is around 6-7.5 hours on a 3300 mah battery. Not that impressive for p20 to have a larger battery and not do better especially when it runs at 1080p.

How is the app integration ?? I’ve heard the Snapchat and IG applications do not fit the screen well they end up being cropped and the camera quality is terrible in Snapchat. Lucky you . I dropped my first p20 pro on my second day while awaiting a case in the mail. Lol mine shattered the front and back falling off my lap while getting out of my 4runner .so not very high. But pavement isn't the most forgiving to glass. My new device is living in a case lol

Seems like a very good Phone. Have been using an, (essentially), Huawei Phone for almost 3 years now,
Nexus 6P, and have absolutely loved it. I think it was, (with exception of the battery) an excellent phone for it's time 🙂.
Am glad to hear you enjoyed your trip to Europe.
Must go to my Twitter, (which I have on my Gen 4 iPad), and check out your pictures.....I don't get on Twitter as much as I should, as I really only use my iPad for doing, lol, PCH !.... It's tedious, but I do it almost all day, every day 😒. I think it's referred to as, addicted 🙄.

Selfie camera is absolutely terrible. Unforgivably bad. Try taking a selfie in a bar with bunch of friends and you will see what I'm talking about.
Other than that, front camera is amazing. Battery is just wow.
