16:48 - Oh man what the San Jose Sharks got "buyer's remorse" or "selecting remorse" over using there 2nd overall pick on Pat Falloon in hindsight! That draft is one of the most tallent loaded of all times = Scott Niedermayer (3rd overall), Peter Forsberg (6th overall), Alexei Kovalev (15th overall) & Markus Naslund (16th) are undisputed the biggest prizes they missed-out on followed by; Martin Rucinsky (20th overall), Zigmund Palffy (26th overall), Sandis Ozolinsh (30th overall) & Chris Osgood (54th overall) that had long and very productive careers in the NHL + lesser good picks like; Ray Whitney (23rd overall), Yanic Perreault (47th overall), Michael Nylander (59th overall), Alexei Zhitnik (81st overall) & Mariusz Czerkawski (106th overall) proved all to be good picks over poor Pat Falloon!
Scouting was pretty good in the 1960s, but all the NHL teams had prospects on their own Junior, so the draft didn't really matter to the teams. It was not until 1969 that the Draft truly mattered as the Junior farm teams ended, Bobby Clarke went in that draft, so did Butch Goring, you skipped through the years.
Super annoying how there were even number of players divided into two columns, but those columns weren't the same size. The second column had second players more than the first.
I been there since the first draft seen it all .IDK how I became a habs fan I was young my dad was a Leafs fan it was so long ago but I think I enjoyed that the Habs played good clean hockey while the leafs were more of a dirty team. There have been some other real oddities throughout th eyears like a leading OHL scorer not even drafted go figure and another top scorer from a bad team again not drafted several never even given a chance. Seeing the Habs of recent you can see why because management favors some players they are gifted auto includes on the team while others playing better and sent to the minors. That goalie Marc Denis impressed me he had 16 so's on bad teams hmmm very impressive at least I think that was the stat.Serge bernier played on one of two stacked WHA teams he was okish nothing great not as good as his numbers show.Pete mahovlich was over shadowed by the great Frank Mahovlich but over time Pete sure learned to play really good hockey a long reach good stick handling and deserved his spot between Lafleur and Shut.

OK, the French mispronunciation of names is horrible but the Typos throughout the video were awful too. The topic was very interesting and unique but could have used more time researching and editing. BTW, It's called and spelled the "Hobey Baker" award.
Sometimes people have only ever read the names. I know if I made a video on soccer, I would butcher 90% of the names because historical footage can be rare or just hard to find

@@michaelkeller5927 I did straighten him out on the 1960's "scouting not being very good", the hit or miss of drafting in that early era was due to the fact that teams had farm teams full of great young junior talent and the draft was the dregs.
Bro really pronounces Jacques as ‘jack-ess’ 💀
There are a lot more mispronounced French names.
True
Must be American. They can never pronounce French names
And also Serge as Ser-gay as if he was Russian 😂😂😂
Great topic, interesting view of player history
Thank you 🙏 hope it was informative!

You should have shown the rest of the clip for Patrik Stefan. The Oilers took it back to score, which makes it even worse.
I actually did but it was Copyrighted, that’s why you can see the edit being a bit choppy cause it was removed after I posted 😅
What makes it better though is Edmonton would've finished in the spot that won the lottery and got Patrick Kane if not for that OTW

That is correct the drafts were to get it going for the expansion years.
Very cool video!!
You should do the interesting facts about the 22-23 season like you did 21-22
very well done & enjoyable
Digging the Zelda music. Good video.
Your channel is awesome! Suggestion for your channel. Do a Hockey card BOOM video. Few have done such a thing. Boom was 1989 to 1994.
A good idea to think about! I’ll keep it in mind! Also thank you for watching my videos!

That Kariya kid hadxa great career
He sure did!
Work on the pronunciation of names, otherwise good content.
Thank you for the feedback! Will continue to do so
I didn't even realize the narrator's Asian accent until he said words like "Golden" and "Calder"

A good video, but your name pronunciation needs a lot of work. French Canadians must be groaning.
Noted! Definitely gotten some feedback on that 😅
You really need to learn how to pronounce the French players names!
22:27 23:22 26:30 nice typos lol
Thanks 😅
You mean things like the Holby Baker award instead of the Hobey Baker award?

Really Kings? 🤦🏽♂️💀
A lot of the early picks were hit and miss and unfortunately the Kings were one that missed in the draft 😅
Scheifele good at both ends? Lmao
Need some lessons on pronouncing names?

I like your enthusiasm for hockey, but there are some errors that made it in, unfortunately.

If youre gonna make a hockey video at least learn how to say the names this is rough
