My favorite line is, "Repeat after me, my house is not a store, my home is not a storage unit. My house is a place where I can live, and I can live simply." Perfect!
You know how there are some people when they smile, you automatically smile, too? Kathryn, you are definitely one of those! Thanks again for the inspiration!
I love so much that you show us immediately how our homes don’t need to be Pinterest-worthy to be functional. All these you tubers use fancy acrylic storage, but dollar tree can be so easy and effective too!
"You can't organize clutter"! I really have to remember that one! It is so true! What a great job you did on your Dad's laundry room. It looks clean, organized, and efficient. "A place for everything, and everything in its place". Another great quote! And a great makeover. Kathryn, you did it again! Love your channel! 💙
Your channel is one of the reasons I’ve come to love my tiny apartment. I’m definitely going to take these practices and principles I’ve learned to my future home, whenever I’m blessed with one! You really do not need a lot of money to make a space functional and beautiful.
I like the broom and mop holder. I just used Command hooks in a row and hooked my broom and mop, etc. I never get tired of seeing the before and after shots!
The Minimal Mom UA-cam channel is an awesome source for learning how to declutter anything. Her tips combined with this channels organizing tips is the perfect combo.
This reminds me of me 12 years ago trying to organize my in laws house, they fought me all the way and thanked me afterwards. Thanks for all your inspiration and videos.
The mumbling excuses.😆 That's totally me.😄 This video gave me some much needed motivation. Love all your advice and ideas. Thanks Katherine for these great videos. 🌼
I know others have already shared this sentiment, but you are a joyful person! You spread joy and we definitely need more of that in this world. Thank you for sharing your happy personality and helping each of us take back the joyful aspects of life. ♥️
Dollar Tree for the win! Katherine, I think a lot of reason why these items pile up and people's houses that they don't know how to get rid of them. You can't pour them down the sink. You can't dump them out on the ground. You can't put them in the garbage so they go into a landfill and many recycling centers do not have appropriate places for household cleaning products. It's quite a dilemma to recycle these things responsibly. That's why it's a good thing to get organized and then only buy what you need at the time that you need it.
I love watching how much you love what you do. It brightens my day. I'm slowly trying to go through my 91 y.o. Mother's home. I am her caregiver (full-time) and I'm finally feeling like going through her stuff. So much to organize and declutter. I'm so happy I found you.
Advice for you my friend, she has a long lifetime of stuff to go through. These things are important to her or were at one point. Take it slow, share memories, ask her to share stories about items, have fun with it, make the downsizing a fun new memory of it's own.
@@sbhgrace3 this is really brilliant advice. A great reminder to consider that even if "things" aren't important to you, they sometimes have more meaning than face value to others. Thanks ❤️
I love the way you use all these dollar tree products, I probably would have never thought of some these things !! Gosh that homemade lazy Susan, so great !!!
I am literally listening to videos as I am decluttering spaces. I generally am so good at this but often leave certain areas behind. Just listening is keeping me going. I love how you describe spaces and the positive affirmations about how you want to feel in the space. You make things easy, happy and fun
I like the look of the Walmart storage bins, and I think it makes it look more high-end, but I also think the dollar tree ones look good, too. I agree with you on being able to keep them clean better, and also they are better for the budget.😊
Lol same. Add also: - exlamations of "ooh i was looking for this!" - "how did this get here?" - loud cuss words when something falls/spills - silent panic
It's so nice seeing you and your dad together! I like the Dollar Tree containers too! It has inspired me to declutter some small spaces that I have been overlooking!
These videos are even more interesting to me right now. It looks like I'm finally going to be getting out of the shelter and into an apartment in the next couple weeks! I'm not sure what to do yet, and I don't have very much stuff. My main goal is to make it as easy as possible to clean. I feel grateful and overwhelmed all at the same time!
I get so overwhelmed with cleaning and organizing and sometimes I just start crying when watching your videos from all you encouragement. Thank you for all your awesome tips and your kind demeanor.
Great job Kathryn!! The space looks so much bigger & brighter!! Love the use of the vintage sign ❤️ Love the look of those Walmart bins!! Hi to Dad!! 💖☺️👍
Heeeere's Katheryn! Yesss! Your videos and smile are so contagious, one can't help but listen to your suggestions! You're not enough, you're much needed! Thank you, Kathryn! Sending Blessings to you and your family! WTG Dad!
Kathryn, I love all of your videos! I would love to see you “declutter/reorganize” every room of your dad’s house. He actually looks pretty tidy but it is so fun to watch you turn these spaces into organized and beautiful areas. Maybe you could do a series-a different room every month? (Can you tell that I am wishing that I could have each of my rooms in my home decluttered and organized? ☺️) However, I’d love to get ideas to see what you might do in your dad’s home!
Kathryn, I just love your organizing videos with all the useable ideas! I’m from NC too and with the ice and snow we got this week, I used the time to redo my wire shelved pantry and used your idea of dollar tree foam board and shelf liner to cover the racks so they are beautiful and more importantly functional (no more items falling between the wires!) Thank you for your videos - keep ‘em coming!
02:16 this is so funny. When I help friends or family members clean/reorganize their space, I tend to remind them/ _warn them_ that the "pile" may overwhelm you momentarily. My mom and MIL both taught me the only way to properly, fully clean a space, is by making a gigantic mess first, as so. But the payoff is so worth it, no worries. Great video!!
If you are ever in Southeast Florida, please feel free to come and organize my home! You have become my favorite UA-camr! As always, awesome job! And in case nobody has told you today, you are more than enough!
I have way to many cleaners and need to declutter them. Do they go out of date? Some are several years old. They get pushed to the back of the cabinet and I buy something else. Have a great day.
Oh my goodness Kathryn, I so look forward to seeing your videos. Your smile brings warmth to my heart ❤. I absolutely love all your videos! I listen/watch your videos while I'm cleaning and you help keep me motivated to stay organized and to keep reminding myself that "I am enough!".
You have inspired me to go through anything and everything I own. The most important thing I did was sort through years of paperwork and gave my shredder a workout. Everything I kept was put in a labeled folder, then file cabinet. I'm 62 and had a large health issue. All I could think of was, how are my adult kids going to find anything if I passed. It's been2 years, but nothing goes in a pile anymore. Next I redid my pantry, under the cabinets, dressers and closets. I feel so much more relaxed. Thanks all to you! YOU ARE ENOUGH! ❤
I got inspired this last year to start organizing my house and SO GLAD that I did because it feels SO GOOD to have a system in place that feels easy to work with and love knowing that everything is in it's place. ❤ I haven't looked back since! I like the wooden bins above the washing machine because, as you said, it presents really nicely when you open the door. And then the dollar store ones are great on the other side because they are practical and easy. I love how you added the sign, photo, and the little plant. I always get a little cranky when I have to do laundry so those would put a smile on my face. Great idea.
Saw a UA-cam video that used pool noodles cut to length and then slit down the middle to cover windshield wipers to prevent icing over and sticking to the windshield!! Marvelous idea and better than just flipping up the wipers. Everything clean and clear!
Love seeing your dad and doing such a small space relates to me. I have nothing buy small spaces and I have used many of your suggestions.
