    I do ketamine therapy at home with a nasal spray made by my compound pharmacy. It has helped my major depressive disorder more than anything I've ever tried in the last 20 years.

    Hi Doc, in my previous ketamine iv infusion session dosed at 50 mg (weight 100 kgs, Bmi 30) in felt like i am travelling around a BlackHole. It was very intense though i was completely aware of my thaughts going in my head.
    Post the sessions it changed me i had more clarity & courage to face the challenges ahead in my life.
    My question is was the 50mg dose very high? Should i ask my doc to decrease it?

    • @shepberryhill4912
      @shepberryhill4912 11 місяців тому +5

      50mg is a median dose, especially for someone weighing 100kg. You need over 100mg to approach the k-hole or anesthesia, probably 200mg for someone as large as you.

      @@shepberryhill4912hey. You need to remember that some people are more sensitive to medications than others. OP very well could have been k-holing if they’re body is super sensitive. As an autistic person who’s taken meds for years there’s many where I’m way below threshold dose on because my neurological system is more reactive.

    Low dose Ketamine treatments helped me immensely with chronic pain as a teenager at DC Children'sNational. I never really got any of the psychedelic effects more than just feeling warm and fuzzy. Truthfully I wish I could find a good Pain Management that does Ketamine treatments in Maryland. Having Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome and so many of the comorbidities associated with EDS; everyone in Maryland and DC(including John Hopkins)wants to gaslight and say it's all psychosomatic just because they don't have the guts to admit they don't understand something or don't know what to do...

    • @brokenfoxproductions
      @brokenfoxproductions Рік тому

      Why would you want to get your daughter addicted to such a deadly disease? Ketamine treatments are literally a scam. People who use them either get worse mentally or just become addicted to drugs. Plus you have to pay out-of-pocket for this because insurance will never accept it because there's no proof that it works.
      But I mean if you think the best idea for your intellectually disabled daughter is to force her to go on addictive substances that are known to cause worsening mental health issues because you saw UA-cam video about it, maybe you should consider having someone else take care of your child. What you are suggesting giving your daughter this is the same as saying that you want someone to shoot her up with heroin because it'll make her compliant.

    Questions: You hear people say that those who use marijuana to cope with anxiety disorders, depression, PTSD, etc are physically and psychologically addicted to the THC in the marijuana, that this addiction is the same as all the others. One question is how is using ketamine to treat these same conditions any different than people using marijuana to treat them? Isn't the end goal the same? People can become physically and psychologically addicted to ketamine so how does it help any better than marijuana? Hmmmm????

    • @brokenfoxproductions
      @brokenfoxproductions Рік тому

      Ketamine is much more addictive than THC. THC has been proven to have some mental health benefits while there are zero studies other than anecdotal evidence saying that ketamine has any benefits at all other than acting as a tranquilizer. People who go through ketamine addictions are much more likely to become addicted to it than people who use medical marijuana are likely to become addicted to that, and while THC actually reduces suicidality ketamine has been shown to increase the risk of suicide by about 60%. In people who have had professional ketamine therapy there's about a 50% chance that they will turn to street drugs afterwards and about a 30% chance that they will later attempt suicide, often whenever they are unable to afford more ketamine.

    • @maryannbrown5762
      @maryannbrown5762 Рік тому +5

      Marijuana (THC) is a temporary fix that is needed on a regular basis. With IV Ketamine infusions, people usually have a few sessions (maybe 3-6) to help them with whatever they are struggling. It might be major depression, treatment resistant depression, anxiety, PTSD, feeling stuck, loss of an important relationship whether it be a friend or family member, a break-up, divorce, death of a loved one, death of a pet. There are so many issues that we encounter in our life journeys that can be helped with IV ketamine sessions, including suicidality. Ketamine has helped people who haven’t responded to any other treatments and it has been shown to transform major depression with the person feeling hopeful after one session. The people who administer the medicine should be medical doctors who can make sure that you have a medically safe experience. They should also be trained in using ketamine to treat people for psychological problems. In terms of your question about THC and ketamine being addictive substances, you are not wrong. But people don’t get addicted to Ketamine from having these sessions. The sessions have a purpose and ketamine administered in this way has been transformative for many people. Dr Kaveh is compassionate and able to help people prepare for a session as well as to integrate what happened in the session after the ketamine. I would recommend that people be working with a therapist who knows how to help people continue their journey and who understands how psychedelics can be therapeutic. Dr Kaveh recommends this as well.

    I have been receiving ECT treatment with ketamine infusions for treatment resistant depression, PTSD and anxiety on a weekly basis for approximately 7 months. In your video you say that you want patients to remember their experience during the infusion. I have never felt anything or remembered my thoughts during the infusion. My doctor and the anesthesiologist have both told me that I am under general anesthesia only during the ECT but tend to be pretty quiet and still during the hour infusion following the ECT. Is it bad that I do not remember or feel anything during the infusion? I know that ECT can affect memory which is why I have asked the doctor what I do during the infusion and like I mentioned, he said that I am very quiet and still. In the area where I live the hospital does not currently treat patients with ketamine only treatment.

    Does Ketamine help elderly patients with prolonged post-anesthesia psychosis ? Sometimes it does not resolve, and the patient who may have been functional and lucid before surgery live with permanent psychosis. Especially in elderly patients having orthopedic surgery this happens. Orthopedic surgeons are extremely gung-ho and rush patients into surgery despite age and co-occurring conditions. Doctors need to warm patients and families prior to surgery of this life altering outcome.

    I don't know how doctors can still recommend this to people, especially people who already suffer with addictive tendencies. Pretty much every single person I've ever met online or in person who has done ketamine treatments has become addicted to it and ends up abusing it. There's very little evidence of the long-term effectiveness of it and this treatment is so new that doctors are ready to say that it can't be addictive until they're proven wrong by a patient killing themselves because they can't afford more treatment or switching to a different drug of choice because ketamine is hard to get on the street. This is basically the same as just throwing opiates or amphetamines at people and hoping they get better. I really hate to say this but I'm pretty sure in a couple years it's going to come out that ketamine is severely addictive, just like so many people are reporting, and that ketamine treatment has just made a whole new generation of addicts out of people who were told that they were getting help and were lied to. Plus if you're asking will I have a bad trip or talking about this treatment as though you're using recreational drugs you're probably not going to respond well to the treatment because you aren't taking it seriously.
    You guys are just giving people new addictions and pretending that you're helping them but you aren't.

    Ketamine, used in this protocol, is a highly controlled & directed experience. Hi, thank you for these ketamine videos, I'm having these conversations with my doctors now.
    I was wondering though, is anesthesia safe for pple still having long covid symptoms, like brain fog, memory problems, & still having olfactory symptoms - sense of smell coming & going still. Had a pretty moderate case of covid in Jan 2023, and getting ready for colonoscopy in a few days.
    Thank you ahead of time for any insights! 🩺

      @@robertlefkowitz7370 But it ain't to do with the ketamine! It's to do with the main drugs in the general anaesthetic. And as was said here the other day, some people with pre-existing problems may be affected negatively by general anaesthetic. But you had to have the operation, so hey...Tell your doctor if it goes on for much longer than this, as it shouldn't do.

      Depends on how serious it is... but from the surgeries I've had (6) the numbers you'll hear the most are 4-6 weeks for initial recovery, but 6 months or more for full recovery (that would include PT) is not unusual.

      I do hope you're feeling better. Don't hesitate to call your surgeon's office with those questions. I had some of the same questions after my cancer surgery, and my surgeon said that my body had surgical PTSD and the surgery was very radical and it could take up to 6 months to have my old energy and vitality back. They will help you if you call - they're used to those questions! Best wishes :-).

      Literally search Google scholar or pubmed database for "IV ketamine efficacy" and/or "IV ketamine treatment and treatment resistant depression". You'll probably find plenty of stuff to read. Controlled ketamine doses have been scientifically validated enough for a nasal delivery system for treatment resistant depression to be approved by the FDA (and covered by most insurance plans)- which is also administered by a healthcare provider in a clinical setting and you're monitored to make sure you don't have any adverse reactions. This isn't quite the same as IV ketamine sessions- my understanding is it's more of a guided therapeutic experience while the nasal delivery is more like just taking a medical treatment (your vials are monitored but there's no guided experience and it can take 2-3 treatments/doses before you notice a difference in mood).

    What happens if someone who has had the treatment is drug tested? Do they show a positive test result for drugs? My employer has a zero-tolerance policy, and even though marijuana is legal in our state, if someone was to test and be positive for it, they would be fired, so I have some concern about that.

Here in Australia I have only seen ketamine infusions being done over 5 days never like this, no place here can advertise this it has to go through a specialist, so how does the 5 day ketamine infusions differ from this 10 minute one?! Thanks looking forward to your response 😊

      @Sandrabill252 I’m in Australia and Ketamine is heavily regulated drug, something like that here in Australia is illegal,
      Doing something like that from a non-credited source would be like buying heroin
      I have chronic pain myself and it’s flared up due to a recent operation…
      About 4 weeks ago was in emergency in the last 24hrs, this type of thing was not even considered… I was in screaming pain and it wasn’t considered

    I am still a bit at a loss to whether this might help me...
    I have three times been diagnosed with burn-out in my life, still having Cipralex on a daily base for almost eight years now. Root-cause being my urge to deliver perfection - OCD comes to mind...
    Would IV Ketamin therapy help? Since we're lagging sometimes a bit behind here in switzerland when it comes to the health-system for the general population, it might be challenging to find someone offering the therapy. But the outlook of having to eat medication that just suppresses the symptoms and not "heals" the cause, while having side-effects, is not that encouraging...

It can make PTSD ten times worse and can lead to suicide but they won't tell you that because they are literally selling it.

      They're just drug dealers with a medical degree. Thousands of people who have been scammed by the idea of ketamine treatment are now living on the streets or in rehab centers because they developed an addiction or their mental health severely declined because of this drug. The only reason why people actually promote this is because they are selling it and they want to make a profit. they don't give a shit about whether or not people get better. People have literally killed themselves because of ketamine treatment. I can't wait until this shit is illegal.
