Coating doest do nothing and valve spring wear is not caused by heat. Your springs are no better than BTR .660s the cam you choose and intake/head flow is the real factor. From then using the right spring for your cam… no magic coating or secret sauce needed
So wait... where is the secret? All you talked about was some coated springs that dont change your ability to raise redline and some "custom" rockers you gave no info about. You didnt mention the cam you are running that takes advantage of these extra revs either. Really trying to decide if this whole video is satire or not, a LS7 equivalent top end will push 7500 all day.
I think he's talking about the coating that draws away heat and I'm assuming it makes the valvetrain components less prone to warping so it lasts longer
He failed to mention that he has stock rockers but a trunnion bearing upgrade. It’s what fails on stock rockers with heavier springs and more aggressive cams.
LQ9, stock bottom end 799 heads LS9 springs. Going to the machine shop/ engine builder, what should get done. Balance the bottom end? No boost in sight just 7000rpms.
@@JayAR_YT yeah same here man, I have an lq9 with prc stage 2.5 243 heads. I have a btr truck cam so it's less hp but man it still hauls ass. Estimated 500 crank hp. Got a few vids on my page. Thinking of going with a custom cam I'll come up with, or I'll consult pat g. The 243/799 are good heads man. I went with them for the torque since I'm in a truck. But if I was in a car I'd go with rec port heads especially if it's bigger than 6.0. Next project I want to do is gonna be either 408 out of my lq9, or 440 stroker ls3 block and some ported ls3 heads. 650-700 crank hp should be enough for a truck. Probably run a medium cam nothing too wild.
Any chance you could do a run down of the parts that you used in this engine? I would like to build/rebuild/modify a 4.8L, 5.3L, or 6.0L LS. Into a high rpm engine for a street/strip vehicle. I watch a lot of Richard Holdner UA-cam videos (admittedly probably to many) It's probably not that simple. To go from the junkyard to testing especially with turbochargers.
The true way to rev high is in the ignition system. Diodes must be placed in all plug wires. 10-11k with ease!💯 Even higher is not out of the realm of possibility
@@swappedoutZ71 man it’s hard to say with 60s, they are hit and miss. I’ve seen some built by reputable shops that grenaded within a few hundred miles and I’ve seen some literally built on the tailgate of a truck that seemed almost indestructible

6700 for extended periods of time with a blower is actually pretty decent especially if he's on stock block and stock bottom end. Single spring, dual spring, triple spring doesnt matter. The seat pressure is what keeps you from floating the valves.
Imagine those coated parts with shaft mounted rockers and a dry sump
This setup has been ripping for 2 years now, super reliable. Dry sump would be awesome
I coat my rods and pistons as well. They even done my heads before 😝

6700 is at least 1000 more power making rpms than stock

When the stock trunnions fail they send needle bearings everywhere which can drop into the oil passages and destroy the engine.
Im more concerned about the 4L60E behind mine but good to know
Shift kit and corvette servo + solid trans tuning and she’ll eat.
Why foes my LS valvetrain sound like a dang sewing machine driving me nutz 😵😵💫
So many different coatings on their website. Which do you use, the C-Lube?
Link to the secret sauce?
C lube is for bearings. The one I have on the springs is the TLTD THERMAL DISPERSANT

running the stock supplied tensioner with the edelbrock kit
there is a truck tensioner upgrade you can get, i had to spend 250$ on that upgrade for the maggie and it was still slipping and tones of issues
