I love baby goats. I don't think I'd ever own one, but they are absolutely adorable. You can tell you really love your little family of goats. Best wishes
Awesome job,I love your farms layout. I have been raising dairy goats since 2010 but your system looks great and gave me even some very good ideas. thank you.
Im planning to get NDG'S and i was getting them by February. Until i saw this video. Now i know thats not happening because Im far from being ready for them. Thank you so much for this needed information. Merry Christmas!
Absolutely love your video except for the very end lol. We have been reading books and watching so many videos to prepare ourselves to be goat parents. We will be in contact when we are all ready.
Thank you for all these precious informations! Though, little question ( this is humour of course), it’s not ok to buy a goat randomly from a hoard, but it’s ok to buy a dog in a pet store? I would go with your advises for goats the same way as for my dogs…I would buy them from a breeder. (Unless they are rescued fpdogs or goats 😊). It is a very dense and informative video, thank you so much!
I love your video on raising baby goats. I will be for a first time owner of baby goats . I will follow you on caring for my babies so I subscribe to your channel ❤because I will be needing your help . Thanks 🙏 again
I have lots of goats although we have never had a vet see our goats, it’s been 5-6 years of owning them and maybe we’re just lucky but none of them have seemed to got sick.
That’s great to hear Lexi! So glad it’s been easy going with your goats so far. Goats’ health is often dependent upon your geographic location, in addition to many other factors. We’re located in the hot and humid state of South Carolina where parasites thrive. It’s all about locations! Regardless of the current health of your livestock, we always recommend at least having a vet in case of emergencies. Best of luck on your goat journey, you seem to be off to a great start!
It's all about environment. As long as they're not exposed to anything toxic, have plenty of medicine to browse, rotate pastures, and have a nice dry place to go when it's wet all is well.
Hello there! Theresa from Charlotte, Tennessee. I am new to the goat world sort of. I was given a boer Goat about eight months ago, she is now three years old, we got her because one of my horses lost his pasture mate and was in awful shape. Someone told us to get a goat for companionship, and it worked. She is amazing and really does not take much work at all, do not know anything about her other than she’s had two litters of babies. Now the fun begins went to a barn sale where I live and ended up purchasing 2 9week old Nigerian dwarf babies, both girls. The ladie that we purchased them from just lives up the street, so if I need to know anything I could ask her. So this is my question. I guess because we’ve purchased them from a auction. I’ve never really been too keen on doing that. I would much rather purchase them from the seller from their home so I knew the living situation because I have seen the horrible places some of these auction animals come from. But I know of this lady so I wasn’t really worried about it and I would’ve never purchased these two goats if I didn’t know something. We bought the babies for the older female Goat. I thought maybe it would be good for her to have some companionship, other than the horse and an occasional cow that would come around. I did notice her a couple of times Carrie on a goat cow conversation and that’s what triggered me to think. Maybe she needed some other companionship. So because I purchased them from a barn, what is OK if you know to ask questions? And what all do I need to ask? Your UA-cam site has given me some ideas and also made me go. Oh wait a minute. I was told to give the baby goats goat starter pellets, and that grass hay was given and also alfalfa. Alfalfa is rich, so is that really good for a baby? It has been many many years since I have owned any kind of Goat. Ours were nubian goats a long time ago.😂 any kind of feedback would be appreciated. Thank you.
@Goat Daddy’s: I’m working towards acquiring and raising dairy goats. My first step is to research and learn. I live on the east coast and want to pick your brain. Are there any good in-person or online courses you would recommend for new and prospective goat owners?
I just got a baby goat they did have it tested at the vet but we could only get one they didn’t have two so what is the best way to keep him from being so scared he definitely doesn’t like to be alone
I have 47” page wire fence, with one electric wire at the top (for predators and to prevent goats from jumping over) and two wires at the bottom (to prevent anything going under, and keeps the goats from putting their heads through the fence and from rubbing up against it... which they LOVE to do.. but it stretches it out). The goats (babies included) avoid the fence altogether, which makes keeping them safe and contained easy 🤍
I rescued a 2 day old got today. Mama has Mets and can’t produce milk so baby needs to be bottle fed. How long before I can start to introduce hay? Oh never mind you already answered!
I am new to this, don't have any yet. Just doing a lot of research on UA-cam. Is there a way I can talk to you about my questions with out doing all of this typing. Call me old school, but I can say more then I can type.
I would like to start out with 1 male and 2 females. All from different breeders. I'm looking to start setting up this year so next year I can move forward with them. My real concern would be the fence.i here they can find a way to get out...
Hey there, great question! We bottle feed for a few different reasons. 1. It makes the babies super social. 2. Goats(especially our breed of goats) often make awful mothers and are prone to neglecting babies. Bottle feeding ensures everyone is getting the proper amount of milk. 3. As you mentioned, we are a grade a goat dairy so we sell the goat milk to the public. Hope this answers your question, thanks for watching!
What about those homesteaders who want milk, so they breed their goats and get babies and sell them. I'd like advice on breeds and physical qualities and temperament tests we can do ourselves to look for in choosing baby goats to bring home.
Apologies😪 We’ll be making an updated video on this topic in the near future with better audio/video quality so be sure to be on the look out for that👀

Beautiful baby goats but your dog had most of my attention! She takes her job seriously, watching over all the kids and even mothering the calf 😅

Do you recommend giving Trotrazaril to adult goats? How effective is it for adults? It's been great for our kids!
Love your video

Cute❤❤
I want to buy baby goats that never grow up. Where can i get that kind? 😆
I have 3 nigeria dwarf goat 🐐. How can I fetch it to 🇨🇦 Canada I need help
I'm curious as to why you bottle feed the baby goats instead of them nursing?
We recently posted a video explaining why on the channel. Thanks for watching!

What milk were the kids drinking
How much for the baby 🐐, please.
Doeling and a little buck.
Thank you!
How about pine tree for the adults?
Our adult goats love pine trees and pine tree branches as treats!

Great idea! I’ve heard lots of success stories with an electric set up like that, and it extends the life of the fence significantly.
why not put a few coats of sealer on that plywood?

23 min mark is about fencing 👍👍
Hi new to channel. Lots of great info thanks. Question just curious why do you bottle feed? Is it because your doing something with the mommas milk?

Dog be like - i am in trouble 😅
What breed is your shepherd?
Belgium Malinois!
Good information, very helpful. Music was way too loud compared to your speaking though
Apologies😪 We’ll be making an updated video on this topic in the near future with better audio/video quality so be sure to be on the look out for that👀
So…can you have goats in a 2 acres of backyard
If you provide the proper care, diet, and shelter, then 2 acres is plenty for a few goats!
I love goats
Those little pups really like being around you ... I don't see that on hidden heights farm, why would that be ...

I live with coyotes in our area I think they could easily get in there
It's very upsetting to not be able to listen to you because of loud distracting music
Whoever was holding that camera must have the shakes
The music makes it hard to understand wtf hea saying
It is a lot of work.
1 or 2 goats, maybe.
Lots of good advice, thanks. But if I may reciprocate, please ditch the music or at least turn it way down, it's too distracting and makes your good advice hard to hear.
music is too loud...
