Chair start as alternative to beachstart - PUMP FOIL

Another efficient way of starting a hydrofoil pump foiling when no dock or convenient beach are available… take a chair!!
Start anywhere pump foiling! Dockstart, beachstart, SUP start and now chair start… what comes next??

- Gong Kluber board 80cm
- Frontwing Sirus xl 136cm
- HM mast 70cm
- Pro Stab Veloce 47H

The ladder is working very well as well. Pros and cons for both techniques. The ladder is more stable thus easier at the beginning. The chair cheaper, easier to mount and transport 👍

What are your thoughts on having path of stab always clear of chair? It seems you are close to this already. Also this will simulate rock starts.

Would this be a viable way to start pumpfoiling for someone already comfortable wingfoiling on swells if there are no good docks nearby?

@@AdamsHadEnough yes you can give a try. Chair start or ladder start are good options . You can use an inflatable SUP board as well to make your own dock (I have videos for that).

@@AdamsHadEnough Even though it may work, I would think that your progress will be like 10 times faster when beginning with a running dockstart.
