  • LG 42LD490 TV Fix Stuck Startup screen / Clock of Death.
    This is the second time it happened. I fixed it four years ago but it has just happened again so made a video of me fixing it.
    This video is a guide of how I fixed it. I take no responsibility for anyone trying this, you do at your own risk. Please visit an approved repairer if you are unsure. The temperature I mention is Degrees Celsius.
    All DIY repairs or modifications you perform to your own equipment are made at your own risk. Sometimes, even if you've done everything the right way, you can destroy or damage your equipment.

    My daughter and I had a go at this, I did not for one minute think that this would work and I am happy to be proven wrong. Thank you for your video you are a legend.

    Just baked the mobo for a 2010 LG flatscreen and I'll be damned if the MIT Hogwarts that saved my GTX 8800 back in the day didn't do the trick on this one too.

      I first did it about 5 years ago for my Mums TV. I had to redo it last year when the clock issue happened again, that's when I recorded the video.

    Solder had driped off contacts and components were falling off. 200 deg C for 10 minuits was too long.

      I had set my fan assisted oven at 200 Degrees Celsius for 10 Minutes. I set an alarm to take it out and cool afterwards.

    Hello I have this same exact TV and it keeps flickering, what should I do?

    • @vadergb
      @vadergb  2 роки тому

      I don't think thats this issue. It might be a failing backlight or panel.

    • @jethroclampett6021
      @jethroclampett6021 2 роки тому

      Check your auto brightness settings. Disable auto brightness. Mine looked like it was flickering too until I realized the screen was fading light to dark.

      I had fixed this very tv four years before for my mum. The internet had mention reflowing by giving it a 10 minute cook. When it happened again I thought I would create a UA-cam vid at the same time.
