I love that designer update or revamp their pieces. Sure, less honest designers can use it as a money-grab, but it’s almost necessary to create iconic or classic pieces that stand the test of time and trends...
I'm not really fond of designers doing reissue of an exact piece but I love the idea of bringing back a specific garment in a different color or material. Haider has so many pieces with the perfect shape and cut that I wished they did different colors/materials in
I see where you’re coming from, I feel like as soon as you do that - it’s no longer a re-issue, it’s just a new piece with a ‘permanent collection’ silhouette (which is still perfectly fine)
In my opinion reissuing a garment is good. Lets be real here a lot of people wanna dress well, spend less money, and get pieces they think are cool. This literally allows for that and provides the designer more money for their work. Plus if I want to buy some Homme Plissé pleated pants I'd rather buy a reissue than something that costs 2x the price or rip offs.
Nice seeing you wearing the ADR 🧢 spreading the love! Fire video as always 🔥! Really like to see more collabs between heat and other designers I think it's a great idea 💡! Sending you some love and hope you get well and back into shape as soon as possible 🙏🏻. Cheers mate @denckham83

Honestly I was really really dissapointed with the fit of the HEAT re-release. I bought the double layer crewneck and velvet bomber and sold both of them at a loss because the fit was different than the OGS. The double layer crewneck is way too long and baggy in the arms and looks nothing like the OG. While the velvet bomber's collar is fucked up and does not drape smoothly like the OG does, the sleeves are also really tightly elasticated which is uncomfortable compared to the OG. Sang...I know you're getting these items for free but man this video really scammed me since you referred everything as mostly fitting the same as the OG which I disagree heavily. I have a big problem with re issues when it comes to archival fashion specifically. I think items like the riot bomber (for example) a highly coveted piece of art. It’s a piece of history.
I see where you're coming from - but if we take the sneakers argument, J1s from 85 still resell and are considered 'art worthy' pieces compared to the re-releases that have followed, why couldn't it be the same for clothes?
I think it is a good way for luxury brands to bring back classics they did in the past, because most people want these classics and are not willing to pay the ridiculous resell prices. But luxury brands should bring back the classics with a few differences, because the OG should be the OG and the holy grail. As alway cool vid sang. Keep the positive vibe and stay healthy in these hard times!
Re-Issues are great for the fashion industry. Like you said, its a way for the designer to make some money off of classics by redistributing them and I believe the whole resale thing kinda kills fashion so I'm all for it. Also, it helps with the elitism problem in the community. Certain people feel like they are better than you because they own certain pieces which in itself is just cringe so I'm glad reissues exist. Now some people may say it kills the "luxury" aspect and the items aren't as limited anymore but let's be real, its not like every normal dude is gonna buy the jacket for 1.1k, its still exclusive for the people that are actually invested into fashion.
Fantastic review, Sangiev! I was wondering how these re-releases are and you went very in depth. Thank you! On a side note, I think HA is brilliant to do this, as it's a turn away from the endless seasons of changing fashion. Cheers!
