I love my solid tires, with suspension. I would not buy air filled anything. I live and commute in Philly and been doing it for years. Yes, it can be a little rougher but not a big deal with suspension.
100% agree. I HATE pneumatic tires. They go flat constantly. They're a pain to change. But my solid tires on my scooter just keep working. I've been riding it for over a year. Meanwhile, I just bought this ebike and I got a flat the first ride ever. So I bought these protective inserts that go between the tire and the tube. $260 they cost me. They don't work. It went flat the first ride. But my scooter still works. Who cares about the feel of the ride? I need to get to work.
Title should be-Don’t buy a 💩scooter with 💩tires. My $400 dollar highboy has suspension and the solid tires have perforation to make it better. It works pretty good.
Yeah, there’s literally so many people saying don’t buy solar tires but literally I spent $1600 and the worst pain in the is having to repair my scooter and being without any ride. I’m going to buy a solid tire scooter so I know for sure I can get to where I need to be.
As someone who has used both types of tires, I absolutely prefer solid tires. I wish more e-scooters used solid tires with suspension. That's the ideal solution. If I had to choose between air-filled tires or solid tires without suspension, I would choose solid tires. No flats and no maintenance > smoother ride.
I agree. However, the solid tires will wear out eventually. The air tires are just too prone to flats. We normally ride our scooters on the shoulder or as far right as possible to avoid impeding traffic. But that’s where all the screws, glass , nails and debris end up
@@grazz7865 I haven't noticed solid tires wearing down on any e-scooters I've owned. I will say that e-scooters in general don't last more than a few years, so by the time you might need to change the tires, the whole thing is on its way out and you are better off just buying a new one.
@@Midori_Hoshi I have a nanrobot lightning and the front tire is just about worn out -mostly from burning out. A lot of torque on that scooter. It’s only 1 1/2 years old.
To each his own I guess. The problem is most scooter tires are small (10” or smaller) and prone to flats because of their small size. Most of us ride our scooters on the shoulder or as far right as possible to avoid impeding traffic. But that’s where all the glass, nails and debris end up. Yes, solid tires will need to be changed at some point too, but at least the wear will be slow and you should be able to estimate that day-not come out to a surprise flat tire. In conclusion, yes, the ride is a little rough with the solid tires, but I’ll take it over flats
My solid tires have lasted over a year. Meanwhile I bought this ebike. Flat the first ride. So I bought these protective inserts for $260, Flat again. First ride. But my scooter still works.
Pretty bad comparison of scooters. That little purple scooter is below entry level. That thing looks more for kids. What’s the top speed? 15mph? The slime works pretty good but it basically makes an air filled tire a solid tire because the slime hardens inside the tire.
That scooter you're selling is a maintenance nightmare $$$. The disk brakes are a disaster and don't last pissing time until they need replacement pads and maybe rotors too. The pneumatic rear tires especially get lots of flats. Maybe heat from the rear wheel hub motor is a factor in this.
If you think Air filled tires on a RicTor is an easy fix you'd be totally wrong. I just recently changed a flat tire on my RicTor Aero snd it took two people to put that damn Tire on.

@@gatesroyale for my city commute, I am happy with the e-twow gt se for its ultra portability. I also love my hiley tiger 8

*Just for the Fluid Vista with solid tires, great scooter!*

I have a hover boss r500. Is it possible to change from solid to pneumatic tires? Can anyone help?
Most scooters you can do that, I'd double check with the company.

@ no question about it-you don’t have to worry about every crack in the road with solid tires. The tradeoff is a rougher ride.
BUY solid tires scooter WITH SUSPENSION. i got to replace both tires of my xiaomi pro 2 because they kept deflating every 2 days...

I dont own a scooter and have no desire. I thoroughly enjoyed this video.
good luck with them sharp metals.
FYI The Rictor Aero website doesn't exist anymore
Tubeless, self-healing tires all day, anyday!
Personally, I'm tired of getting flats on my way to work. I need solid tires at this point
You can add slim every few months ,that should help if you wanted to stay with air
If you have solid tires, just get yourself some full suspension shoes. Problem solved...:)
The Amish got this figured out.
If you hate air tires, keep in mind that its easy to over fill them leading to flats. Don't go over 30 psi.
