      How do you sync the video and audio? I don't see any connection with it

    • @RogerioAcioli
      @RogerioAcioli Рік тому +1

      @@Kinobambino You can make it plugged directly into the camcorder or separately and finish the work by some computer software, like Final cut, Adobe Premier...etc. There are many tutorials on youtube showing about this. Good luck!

    Fantastic! Thank you so much for this super useful demonstration! So it is the best way to record it next to the piano, isn't it? Not to put id under piano

      If you would like a more percussive and dry sound with less room/ reverb then go closer. It's a combination of personal taste and what room is available to you.

    How do you get such clean sound? When I use the XY microphone on my H4N it has a lot of hiss even when I turn the recording level super low. By the way great video!

      Thanks for your question Dave, however it will be difficult for me to give you any specific advice without knowing more about your own personal situation. Sorry.
      In general the preamps on this recorder will be fine for recording a piano unless the piece is 100% pianississimo.
      As for the clean sound, that is the natural sound of the onboard mics. No processing has been done.

      Thanks for your feedback.
      Recording/ music is mostly about personal taste. I made these videos to show that good recordings can be made on a budget. If you like something, then it is good (for you).
      If you have a chance, try these ideas and see which ones you like.

    0:45 what sort of adapter are you using on the microphone stand that's held in between the clamps for the zoom h4?

    • @recordclassicalmusic
      @recordclassicalmusic  2 роки тому

      It's a regular Shure SM57/ SM58 microphone clip: Shure A25D: www.shure.com/en-MEA/products/accessories/a25d
      with a "Zoom MA2" Tripod to Mic Stand Adapter: www.zoom.co.jp/products/product-accessories/ma2-tripod-mic-stand-adapter

    Nice video! What was the gain of the zoom, there was some limiter or compressor in option ?

    • @recordclassicalmusic
      @recordclassicalmusic  Рік тому

      Sorry. I can't remember the exact gain setting. But a tip that works well is to set your gain based on the most dynamic part of your piece. If I am using the H4n Pro I like to keep the loudest parts of the piece around -12db.
      There are some compressor and limiter options, but I have never used them.

    Do you always use the 120 degrees set up for piano?

    • @recordclassicalmusic
      @recordclassicalmusic  Рік тому +1

      I personally do, yes. That is just my personal taste. Try experimenting with both settings and see which ones you like.🤝

    Something doesn't make sense here. The H4n records audio only, right? So how is the H4n recording synced and combined with this video clip?
