    Full of good advices, thank you! We never think of the ceiling 👍. I have just bought the Pianino cups... Hopefully they will help. Otherwise I use a duvet under the piano 😅. And I have always played with the piano completely closed (taking the stand out then). But what a beautiful piano you have....

    I have seen in professional recording studios to isolate a piano with other instruments they use the same thick sheets that piano removalists use when they maneouvre grand pianos within a house.

    You can also play silently......run sound thru your head......study music......but building fingers and muscles require you to make sound. I don't think digital pianos can sustain the weight. Your thoughts?

    Thank you. A very useful video. At home I have a Schimmel 120 upright piano that I have been playing for several years. I would like to upgrade to a Yamaha GB1K. the room is approximately 16 m2. I'm very doubtful whether a silent system is necessary

    Great advice, your videos have been great lately. I was wondering if it is a bad Idea to leave the window open in the room with my piano. Sometimes I want to get the fresh air but IDK if the humidity could hurt my piano.

    Apart from sound proof, how do you find the actual sound of the piano in the room? Is it too much muffled or it can breath and has enough clarity? Also, may I ask if you could provide the dimension of your room vs dB spl at 1m. Thanks for your helpful tips.

    • @horoffra
      @horoffra  3 місяці тому +1

      You cannot turn a small room into a cencert hall, so the sound is fine but not ideal.

    Thanks for sharing, that’s very helpful! I’m thinking of putting a 190cm grand in a 16m2 room too. How high is your ceiling by the way? I suppose even if acoustic not perfect for the grand piano, it is still much better than only an upright?
