  • This past weekend, the Columbia River was opened for a few days for spring run salmon. I was able to take off work Friday, and went out fishing for 3 days straight. We used tuna balls for bait, along with the spin n glo set up. Fishing was decent and there were multiple fish caught. We lost quite a few too, probably because barbless hooks. Anyway enjoy the footage.

@@fishingwithvu Wish I could I just bought my Oregon license Cant afford to get a washington state non res 1. Thank you for the video. I enjoyed the foraging you did on the peas gonna try em too. Do I need to worry about the color of the mesh I wrap the tuna balls with?

No. Any color will do. Make sure it’s tuna in oil. Chop some fresh garlic and add scent and then wrap them up.

Is a drum reel preferred over a spinning? What’s the advantage?

There’s no line twist when casting which helps to eliminate tangles.
