Right here my friend! I miss sitting in a lawn chair on the beach below the longview bridge catching those IRONHEADS! Good times with my family! The bullship
This has never made sense to me....if you need a boat for this type of fishing, why are you fishing on the bank? why wouldn't you just anchor (where you're dropping the rock) and fish in your boat? serious question. very curious what the benefit of fishing on the bank is? and is there a way to do it w/o a boat?
On a boat, you need to be on alert all the time, you might not be able to take your whole family and kids on the boat especially if they're too young or hyper-active. A small kayak might do the same thing as a motorboat. You can camp by the water and have fun and do other things while your pole is doing its job. Some rivers have rough snaggy bottoms and anchoring can be impossible or dangerous. Many advantages to plunking or bank fishing.
I own the boat and I would prefer bank fishing myself. One of the main reasons, areas where there is good fish flow within 20’ that area is already taken by bank fishermen. The boat can’t just show up and still fish in same area. Second reason is bank fishing is allot cheaper, less headache, and you can relax with family and friends while fishing.
Love you guys. Learned so much. You were the people that made me pay closer attention to tag ends. Just curious isn’t it irresponsible to be leaving over five feet of line wrapped around a rock with each fish caught?
You guys should fish the Kalama River. A few years ago they got over 100,000 summer steelhead smolt stocks. The numbers in the escapement reports are doing well too.
I'm running 50 and 40 pound braid in two of my poles and on my snap jig setup I have a ten pound braid with a 6ft 12 pound bumper of flourocarbon and a 1 oz jig head and lunker citys finesse minnow. Everything eats in in the connecting water ways I fish in here in the great lakes
How long ago was this recorded? I have an inflatable raft and I feel like I’d be able to get my stuff out there. This was on the Columbia right, Oregon or Washington side?
Yo! I heard in the last videos you’re thinking about the chesty, My opinion I hate the chesty videos. They are okay in moderation but I love your videos because they aren’t just a go pro compilation. Great stuff
I also tie number 36 bank line to my bell and from the bell to the rod holder so I don't lose my bells. I also rig my bells to attach those light up bike valve stem caps so when the pole hits I see which one is flashing red and ringing.
gear setup is key my 6ft6 pole setup gets better action and the reel with 20lb braid compared to my 8ft 10lb mono. Between the 2 setups the reels say 5.4.1 but I can put lures on both same size and reel speed and the 6ft6 bumps bottom while the 8 ft barely hits the bottom. Messing with gear to find the hidden gem Setup is key even if you catch fish on it didn't mean It can't be improved
Let me get this straight?.. you guys are intentionally breaking off line to catch fish? I mean I’ve seen worse but that seems like pretty poor etiquette. And if you’re sending the plunk/sinker out by a vessel, why not just fish from the vessel? 🤔
How many bank fishing anglers do we have out there?! 🙋🙋♂️
Catching a Steelhead from the bank is called Robbing The Bank ...'winks'

I do both bank and boat. Depends on who I'm with or I'm alone or just how hard I feel like working to fish that day.

I got my first summer steelhead this year on a number five blue vibrax.

edgar rodriguez Wa side.
Santa Barbara CA Great video channel!
Do you guys have a video on sockeye salmon fishing?
Bro I use 15 pound braid on the Columbia, for salmon and steelhead. Sturgeon I go 50 pound mono
Excellent video
Gyeah bouy! Also I have that same rod. Caught that fish in my profile pic with it 😁🎣

30 pound maxima chameleon mono for my plunking rod setup.
65 powerpro.... lasts longer, still small diameter... the best part about power pro, it is round, not flat... 🎣
Get a nerf football and glue a frisbee cut in half for the wings.
What part of the Columbia are you on?
Cameron Stewart Vancouver, WA
@@AddictedFishing Awesome that's close to me
😂🤣😂🤣
8 pound fluorocarbon 3oz sinker

Not bank fishing if you need a boat

At least drill a hole in the rock and glue a swivel in to tie the line too.
I never use more than a 50 lb braid. 20 lb leader.
Use a small string red or pink, tie it to the bell than tie the other end to a stick and stick it in the sand! The bullship.
How to bank fish.....get a guy with a boat.....FML
I like to you 65 for plunking
