I can sense the Venus Flytraps’ and Pitcher Plants’ Jealousy from a mile away
Lol underrated comment
Lol
Yeah I’ve always seen Venus Flytraps and Pitcher Plants
Never seen a sundew

@@Roma-p lol hi Roma.
Basically Venus fly trap with 100% success rate.
Not always, Sometimes bugs can wriggle free or another animal can eat the bug like a frog or lizard.
?? I imagine it’s about as successful as spider-webs lol
@@CarnivorousPlantsSydneybro I hate lizards 🦎
@@anshiparamanik1731Tf do you have against legged snakes
@@davemiller638 Bro is a sundew 💀
I'm not surprised that these are the most common. The very instant an insect lands, they're already trapped. Unlike the Venus fly trap and pitcher plants
I've seen more venus fly-traps and other carnivorous plants in the wild than sundews ever
@@jasonbuchanan1577 That might have something to do with the area you live in. I've only ever seen sundew in the wild.
I think it’s because pitcher plants are more passive, it takes a lot of energy to be able to move for a plant
That's why you need a few in a house because digestion takes a while
@@jasonbuchanan1577venus flytraps are arguably the rarest carnivorous plant as they only grow in one location in the us east coast. so unless you live in their only habitat you won't see them. drosea live in every continent except Antarctica

Sundews from Antarctica Wahoo!
@@wilsonyeu1852Filthy lies, you obviously haven't gone far enough down to find them
It's not as good as you think antarctica is meant to be cold and it's not meant to have plant life but it does because it's too warm

Fact that it's at 100x speed, and 1 min of action shown here is actually in 1hr 40 mins 😮
It’s called enjoying your meal at a fine dining establishment.
It’s funny because these are the carnivorous plants that I see the least online. Everyone is always covering venus fly traps and pitcher plants, but these guys rarely get love.
It kinda makes sense, pitchers are literal acid pits and flytraps are basically iron maidens for flies, sundews however are just sticky leaves that veeeeery slowly fold in on themselves. The other two are more immediately distinct on what they are at a glance.
Does sundew can catch 2 insects at once?
@@mnsv1720 i mean, theoretically, yeah? Not much of a chance of it.
Plus, sundews have a bunch of leaves, so it makes sense that few flies would be attracted to the same leaf at the same time
Yet with these guys it's easier to see what's happening the whole time. I had Venus fly traps when I was a kid and once they close, all you can do is shine a flashlight through the leaf to see the silhouette of the victim. With pitcher plants, I imagine you might be able to peek inside and see a drowned insect. With sundews, it's right there in the open from start to finish.
@chitlitlah the mystery of not being able to see what's happening to whatever's inside adds to the horror though. Plus sundews are real slow at what they do, you'd have to continuously observe them for a long ass time to really tell what is happening to the insect
pov: wings of fire fans who have heard of a dragon named sundew being trapped by a sundew
Can't stand the series tho, every dragon is dumb
@@RealistSophistWhat about Qibli? Or Darkstalker.
@@Void-xir Basically all of them are incredibly dumb considering they can't recognize intelligence right in front of them.
Humans create art in front of them and read books in front of them even.
I mean one of them literally kept one hostage to get something valuable and not once questioned why they were smart enough to understand what was happening.
darkstalkers a fkin genius@@Void-xir
@@RealistSophistdon't say that, none of them are dumb. You fail to see the difference between a light-hearted personality and actual intelligence lack lustre.
If you learnt something new, please leaf a like and subscribe for more carnivorous content 😁
EDIT: yes guys, they aren’t in Antarctica. You’d know that if you watched the video and saw the text that says “except Antarctica”
Are they found in Canada? Perhaps the warmer regions?

Yes there are a few native to the UK
Will it hurt humans?

It's so satisfying when the drosera slowly closed up on the fly 😅

You immediately thought of vegans... while watching a video about a fly getting caught by some plant. You should see a professional to talk about that obsession of yours, bud.
@@catscanhavelittleasalamiI actually thought of vegans too. Nothing really out of the ordinary between free association of ideas. It's called the normal thinking process.

The reason why I love this plant is because one of the characters in one of favorite books is called sundew, and from there I got addicted to carnivorous plants
Wings of fire? I love that series :)

Amazing
"Sunjew" 😂
"Hello sundew, how are you? I am fly. Would you like to be frie- GAAAAHHHH!!!"
That is terrifying lol
They'll be on Antarctica very soon 💀
More information on sundews: they live in environments where water and sunlight are plentiful, but nutrients and soil are scarce. For this reason, they have to eat bugs to get nutrients to compensate for the nutrients not being in the soil.
People would call someone crazy if they deliberately torture insects, but people loose empathy for the fly when it’s tortured by a “natural” process
"Expect Antarctica" Oh now Flies live in Antarctica💀
My nan has a few of these in her house. I never see bugs in her home 💀. She always makes a joke that they're paying rent in their own way 😂.
