For cleaning, you can also use a Polident effervescent denture cleaning tablet, they're super cheap. Fill the Clever dripper with water, drop in a tablet, let it dissolve, put everything into a cereal bowl and let just enough drain out to soak the bottom part in. Let it sit over night. This also works for coffee mugs and stainless drinking bottles. It's non toxic, rinses clean.

Thank you for your tips and tricks. I just got my Clever Dripper in the mail yesterday and I'm excited to try it! I hear its the taste of a French Press without the mess! Thanks again!

Suggestion: have you tried toothpaste and/or baking soda for the reservoir? these gentle abrasives rinse clean and won't degrade the plastic. the silicon gaskets should be gently scrubbed with a toothbrush only (just use plain water) and kept out of direct sunlight to avoid drying, cracking, or rapid UV aging. really enjoyed your video and have a Cleaver Dripper I use daily at home. Your video is one of a very few that addresses the cleaning and re-assembly steps. Thanks!

I used to disassemble my dripper for cleaning after every use, and I turns out that if not done properly it can wear off the plastic to the point of breaking. I'd reiterate not to disassemble it every day, only once and a while for thorough cleaning; also to push the rubber ball from inside when removing the valve, not pulling the valve from below (that's what I inadvisedly used to do); and suggest to either hold a finger as some kind of support to the inner pin of the valve when pushing it back in (the pin is what fell off on my first dripper), or even to take the rubber ball off, fit the valve in, and put the ball back after the pin is already inside, to reduce the pressure over those thin supports of the pin (those are the things that broke and the pin fell off). I think this last trick is how the manufacturer of my model suggests to do a full (dis)assemble.
    Thanks for the great video!

Great video! I've watched a few videos on this brewer, & you're the first person who talked about cleaning it. I was thinking of getting it, but wanted to know if it came apart. Glad to know it does. Unless it just really bugs you, I wouldn't worry about the little bit of staining so much. Coffee stains most everything. As a paper crafter I even use coffee & tea to dye paper because it stains so well. Again, thanks for showing how to take it apart to clean.

use Urnex Cafiza Espresso Machine Cleaner; 2 teaspoons per liter soak over night, rinse clean. This cleaner gets the coffee oils and stains out with little or no scrubbing. Great cleaner for automatic drip coffer maker like Mr. coffee.

Just watched your video on how to brew and clean the clever coffee dripper. I don't know what a grind setting 20 is.
By the way, I enjoyed the video and book marked it.

I love my clever dripper. I find that you have to use more coffee than with a regular dripper. Like a Harriio V60. But that being said. I love my Dripper. Good Vid.

Try a little oxy clean and hot water, soaking the dripper overnight. It's great for getting built in stains off.

I'm wondering if a melamine sponge - which is abrasive on a microscopic scale - would be effective in cleaning the dripper. I only ordered my Clever Dripper yesterday, so I've not had a chance to use it.

So you don't stir the coffee after about one minute after full immersion?

You have to clean it asap every time.

Maybe like you can clean foggy headlights with toothpaste, same here.

You can not have it brewing that long. Total brew to cup needs to be under 3 minutes otherwise its astringent and bitter.
