DAVAO CITY COASTAL ROAD IS OPEN! (But There's A Catch) Trying New Philippines Project

- I CAME HERE ONE YEAR AGO. This section of Davao City's Coastal Road was complete, but not yet open. A couple of months ago, it opened to the public - but only for walking or cycling. Cars can't travel here yet.
First, I travel to Punta Dumalag, now operated by the Aboitiz, a natural wonder within the city. Then I compare the Times Beach section of the Coast Road, before fixing my microphone in downtown. Finally, I go to the opened section at Bago Aplaya, and try it out for myself!

@@builtnotboughtmadeinphilip3955 Hey Davis, someone gave me a good piece of advice once: draw a line from Cagayan de Oro down to General Santos, and anywhere east is OK. West - sometimes OK, sometimes not! But you could definitely drive through Surigao provinces down to Davao (the coast road is awesome via Bislig, Cateel and Mati) and then up through the mountains into Bukidnon and Cagayan de Oro!

I'm really happy what this administration is currently doing to provide a better transportation around Mindanao , it's been a long time coming ,
I commend you Daot for being able to speak the regional language. You can communicate freely and understand what's going on around you. I want to learn Bisaya too.
I have watched you over the years and I commend your growth from being on Becoming Filipino with Kylas to your own Kumander Daot vlog. You are very intelligent and your vlogs are so informational with a purpose. As soon as I am able to turn over my practice I am heading your way. I want to help the wonderful people that you love. And you are funny as hell. Dr Reed
Thanks Kumander Daot….your aerial view of Punta Dumalag is greatly appreciated. I was there years and years ago…. I went with my father. Portions of the Punta is a great part of my family’s heritage. It still is …. I haven’t been to in a long while. I just heard stories from the older members of my father’s side of the family . Plan to visit One of this days. Salamat kaayo. I will be able to show this to the rest of my family. As I have said it has been a looooooong time. Hope my next visit will bring good memories of the place. That remains to be seen though. 🙏🙏🙏
Davao looks to be a nice city. Hopefully soon we can visit it.😊
U lived in Australia before Kumander Wally....where's yr slip, slop ,slap sun protection ?????? 😡U need a hat...!!!!!!
Stop the wallying and get protected Kumander W 🤣 Great to see yr local hood...
Very interesting ...well done ..top job giving us an insight into what's on yr doorstep.
Lake Mainit please 🙏.....and good old Badass near by....and the badass's there 😎🤣
Every province should have atleast 1 protected forest like this, so beautiful.
Just WOW! The East Coast of Mindanao is being urbanized. I love those Low Rider Bikes never seen those style before, it reminded me of East LA.
Walking in a vast expanse of space really gives a calming experience. Do more of it, my friend.
That turtle sanctuary as far as I can remember was a loosely fenced. area were we as kids could enter and go to the beach. Most of the vegetation there were
coconuts, mangroves and some small shrubs now it has a full blown ecosystem of plants, birds and turtles. And for the coastal road? well citizens of davao could not. enjoy the beach anymore of Davao because of the informal settlers, might as well use it for a fast route from south to north sprinkled within it are parks and playgrounds. Surely a win win for everyone👍🙂
That coastal road is progress in a positive way. Ive enjoyed watching this.
Amazing coastal road ,Davao is my favourite city in the Philippines thanks great video Anselm 👍
yes kumander , a new wonder and awesome looks what Davao City now that's a 'cause of our very own president outlooks, he wants our place more wonderful to live with, and nice to be seen as what handsome like you...he he he....
You like open spaces, healthy air by the sea.good to see another infrastracture in Davao, thanks for sharing your adventure.keep healthy and be safe.
Hi Anselm, I'm English and I have a problem saying your name haha... Just watched this vlog on a 60 inch flat screen and and the aerial shots look amazing that part of the world is changing so fast, without realising it you are documenting its history. Now you have your own child you will realise just how fast time flies and things change👍
My name is... Interesting haha. Happy that this looks good on the big screen!
Just pronounce it the way it is spelled- DA-OT. If u can drop the twang or say it in Filipino accent. No silent letter. Just as it is. Not fast not slow.
@@KumanderDaot actually it's a Filipino name with less letter on the the end, just put letter "O" and there you have your Filipino name.. Angkol Anselmo a.k.a Kumander Daot hehehe
@@xinziearusuke4696 Angkol Anselmo... That can be my name when I get old 🤣🤣🤣
@@KumanderDaot woah..... thanks for the reply this is my 2nd time now getting a reply from you.. hope you remember me when that time you finally change your name to Anselmo lol.. amping kanunay kumander, lingaw kaayo ko sa imo mga vlog., been watching every single one of it.. regards from Pagadian City.. laag dri puhon, si Kulas sige na anhi..

The coastal road and the mangroves will make Davao have feather in the cap for inbound tourist attraction in the PH.
It's been few months since the Costal Road was open for public but I haven't been there. And I have no idea about what I see in this protected area. Thanks again for this video Kumander!
Lol I just stumbled upon this video on random. Happy to hear regarding the improvements. My father is actually one of the engineers who has been working on this project! Looking very good! :)
I first went there over 20 years ago, just to have a look, as we had stayed nearby and it was pretty barren. It's incredible the transformation. Is it open to the public? Didn't know we have turtles in Davao, seen dolphins but never a turtle. The coast road and the getting rid of the overhead lines is making Davao a much better place. Certainly changed a lot since 1998. Another great vlog BTW.
I think they let in visitors with a purpose - educational and so on. Just contact Davao Light on Facebook 🙂
Amigo this Nonoy Buhian
I've been there once back in college for community service ,we plant trees in that area ..we even see babies going to sea

02:59 - " Corrals suggest that the sea level was higher..." - Kumander D. I've seen videos of the presence of corral on Mt. Apo which suggests that the sea level is higher...OR... The entire archipelago of the Philippines was pushed up by tectonic plate movement. I believe the latter happened that could explain the presence of land bridges that ancient Malaysians used to travel to occupy Mindanao.
That's an interesting thought too...
Yes,, morning kumander daot,, thank you for viseting our place,, take care always,, godbless
A great video Kumander Daot. Love how positive and happy the locals are there in PH.

Sana all Kumander nakapa-attendance na sa coastal.. stay safe po☺️
Thank you… I am from Davao City… 🙏🙏🙏
Great video. Very helpful to know about this road
When I saw the coastal road on youTube, I was excited about it because it displayed (perhaps) the development of Davao (which is still going very slow...I've been coming here almost every year since 2007...it's such a slow starter compares to Cebu City and/or Manila)....untill I saw it in real life a few months ago. I thought : sayang of the view and the coastline and for the people living in that area. Also, the park..it was such a nice place to relax and watch the ocean and hear the water...and there was a surfing spot......now, there is nothing left of that beautiful view. But like you said Anselm: we don't live in a perfect world.
I am happy to see my friend Fermin ..the tour guide.
Watching from 🇺🇸
Enjoy your stay here kumader Daot. We're lucky to have you.:)
It was super crowded during my first visit there.
A lot of people will most probably ask for 'pitik' if you brought any professional-looking camera.
Awesome place ! Good luck with the mic kumander.
Enjoy the sun kumander here in the UK we enjoy the winter and bad weather...
We have David Attenborough in UK. So do we have “Daot Atin-po-Ito” in The Philippines! I love your adventures, KD🌟
Kulas had name game in Cateel the likes of Aswang and Kapre😂😂Show him “KULASisi” and ask the boys the meaning of that parrot’s name.

Very nice segment Kumander. Thank you for sharing😍
05:50 - "Coastal Cleanup" ....That should be an everyday program. Officials in the area should institute that volunteer program to clean up their environment.

And just take pictures of boats in ocean there
Thank you for sharing your life journey with us
God bless you my friend
I love davao. Wherever we go for family outing we so much fun many beautiful places.
Interesting seeing that guy on a ladder in the middle of the road and then they are moving the ladder hmmmm must be Filipino safety first hahaha. Very cool and I love the drone footage. Now yet another place to put on my bucket list. My bucket will soon be overflowing lol. I think that road is a great idea not just to keep traffic flowing better but you got a great view all the way along. It will also serve as a great breakwater when there are storms.
You’re lucky kumander you’ve visited a lot of beautiful places here in mindanao while most of the people residing here wasn’t able to reach like you did.

i used to be part of coastal clean up activities when i was in college and a member of Rotaract Club International... if i get a chance again, i wouldnt not hesitate to do it again
