    For anyone who is curious, resetting the power did resolve the issue.

      Emery Rudolph Any issues afterwards? I’m considering this model as well as a few others from this company.

      @@Watchmeloseit2012 I have grown to really understand the system and work with it. Yes, It stopped a couple more times and each time I noticed that the tread was much dryer than expected. I pressed Icon on how often you should need to lubricate the base and they said every 10-12 months, but I have found that to not be true. If your unit stops, it means that the motor is sensing too much friction and is heating up to the point where it protects itself. I also found that the belt was too tight. By loosening the belt a few turns and adding Silicon, I've been able to go about 5 weeks without it stopping. Time will tell if this solves the issue, but I really hope so. Other than this one flaw, I really, really enjoy this unit. It is very sturdy and iFit is super motivational. If you decide to get one, make sure you pay especially close attention to the delivery and take pictures/video of the delivery and any flaws on the box. I will say that Icon Fitness is not a very responsive company. If you have a technical issue, it will take a long while to get through to someone. I take all of these with a grain of salt because I doubt any company provides great customer service. Good luck!

      I returned the x22i I loved the treadmill incline but the screen was terrible these ifit videos ran around 15fps which is pretty lame for a media player this is 2019 and they have junk hardware in it. How is the screen on the x11i

      @@Waltwizzle Hi Wizzle, I have excellent screen resolution and frame rate. My home Wifi network used Netgear Orbi's which transfer around 500mb/s and that is connected to a firewall and FIOS fiber at 1gb/s. At those speeds, the experience is 100% smooth. I would really consider your networking before losing confidence in the machine. I'd bet anything that is where your problem lies.

    I have a 2017 model and my treadmill stopped worked working after a year during workouts. My needed a new motor. I had the extended warranty and had the motor replaced to fix it.

    Hi! Is this 2019 model with audio connectable with Bluetooth? If so, does this machine has HDMI on the side of the console to opt to TV via HDMI cable?

    • @erudolph
      @erudolph  4 роки тому

      Yes, all new X11 models have Bluetooth audio, but they no longer have HDMI. Nordictrack took the HDMI port out because people were purchasing the X11 and connecting them to large monitors rather than purchase the X22i or X32i.

    Thanks for sharing I have gone back and forth between the x11 and x22 just can't commit 3k on a unit that I can't even test drive at a showroom. I'm worried about the comfort of the treadmill.. but every review I have found said the walking surface has great shock absorption. The only question I have for you is knowing what you know now, would you buy this item again?

    • @erudolph
      @erudolph  4 роки тому +3

      Excellent question! I have thought about this purchase a few times and questioned whether I made a wise choice. After digging through documentation, it is apparent that the belt came much too tight from the factory. After loosening the belt to the recommended deflection level of 3-4 inches, I haven't had an issue with it stopping. I am still lubricating on a bi-monthly basis, which is 6 times more often than the company says is needed, but I am being extra cautious.
      So to tally the issues I've had with the machine:
      Arrive with a dent in the frame. This did not present a structural problem, but was very disappointing: Nordictrack provided a 10% refund. (Check your drop ship delivery very carefully. If there is any damage, refuse the shipment and have them send you another one).
      Deck randomly stops but program continues: This may now be resolved with proper belt tension and more frequent lubrication. Time will tell.
      Console failed: My console began to exhibit electronic failure with lines in the screen. Nordictrack sent a replacement unit, which I installed with little effort. Everything appears to be working fine now.
      So, to answer the question of whether I would purchase this again, the answer is yes. I know I've had a rocky start with this product which did drive me to investigate Peloton and other companies, but this one has 2 things I really do think make up for the issues I've had :
      1) High deck elevation
      2) iFit
      I mention these because in my case, they must go together. If I were not using iFit, I might not buy this unit again. The iFit makes the workout an adventure to look forward to. I really do enjoy the interactive nature of the machine as it mimics the trainer. That added realism provides that extra motivation and enjoyment. I do not need live classes, as I really enjoy the high quality of the recorded sessions and the amazing variety. I know some people do not like the noise the unit makes as it lifts and lowers the deck, but it is a machine and it does not bother me at all. In all transparency, I am not able to handle elevations above 20% without holding on, but this also shows me how much further I need to progress.
      Also of note is that my treadmill in 1 of 4 exercise equipment I have in my gym. My primary machine is the Concept2 rower. I do 30 minutes on that 4-5 days a week followed by either the treadmill or the bike. As an aside, I just upgraded my bike to a VR-21 by purchasing the console from Icon Fitness. The connectors were the exact same ones for the model Elite 5.4, and the bike is the exact same in every respects except for the console. This gave me the ability to use my iPad with iFit. I also got rid of those under-performing floor tiles and purchased horse stall mats, which are what commercial gyms use. These withstand the weight and rigor of heavy machines.
      The next best thing to the Nordictrack is the Peloton and that is wicked expensive especially when you consider that the studio classes are about $3,000/yr notwithstanding their live class model.
      So, yes, I had to work with my unit, baby it and replace a component, but overall, it works well and provides an awesome experience. The one thing I would do over is purchase the model with the larger screen. I purchased my unit as they were changing models and I thought that I was getting the older model which included an HDMI out, so that I could connect it to my television, but I was sent the new model which does not have any outputs. This means that I am stuck with the 10" screen, which isn't bad. It is very responsive and is crystal clear HD. I just know that I would have enjoyed the larger screen that much more.
      Hopefully that provides you with some more insight into my thinking. The best of luck making your decision!

      @@erudolph appreciate the info... I'm more a Walker than a runner... I have a 70in tv in my workout room I just couldn't spend the extra 1k for the 22 inch. I hate buying something this expensive without seeing it first... but I pulled the trigger on the X11i. Now that the decision was made I'm just waiting on delivery thanks for your help. When I saw the peloton cost for classes that was that...

    I'm not sure they are even in business anymore. No phone call back. No email. No chat. Trying to buy a machine like yours but I'm not going to beg them to take my money.

    Can you watch youtube or netflix on these machines?

    • @erudolph
      @erudolph  4 роки тому

      No, the display is not designed to use the Internet or apps other than the iFit app. That's why I have a TV mounted right in my gym.

      You absolutely can. You have to put it into "privilege mode". You basically go into your settings area, click a white/blank space 10 times quickly, and privilege mode comes on (but watch the video for a better description). Search for it on youtube, and you'll find a great video. You can't watch Netflix by just typing it into the web browser, but there's a way you can download it through the App Store on the treadmill. It was a game-changer for me. The only thing is that there isn't much memory, so you can't download much more than just one large app like Netflix.

      If your console stays on while the platform stops and a reset doesn't work, you may have a lose wire. My issue was a bad motor. I can only surmise that there was a break in a motor coil that separated when the motor heated up. I tested by bypassing the thermal switch on the control board and still had the same issue. They sent me a replacement motor which I installed and I have not had a problem since.
