Totally agree. I binged watched this series and watched the movie again after. I never realized how rushed the movie felt until I watched the series. I did listen to an interview with abraham Q , recorded before this series came out, that the movie is not a documentary but if I recall he said everything depicted in the movie is accurate except for the vato scene.
Umm will I like both of them bc there is something's that you don't learn in the movie but in the series you do learn it and the same in the movie you learn and the series you don't learn

All great points but I’m sure the series is ultimately more complete then the movie. Part 2 will cover all that was in the movie and more. Too hype and excited to see Part 2. I’ve watched Part 1 like 4 times all the way through. Ugh 😩 addicted
This show is very inaccurate and sugar coated. Even the film was more accurate and it had many problems and like 1/3 the screentime😂

This is the 3rd behind the scenes segment I've watched and frankly I'm tired like many of you are of reading the negative and hateful comments; first of all we are very lucky that the Quintanilla family has chosen to keep Selena's legacy alive, this series was made and produced by her loving sister Suzette, if any one knew Selena it was her sister. I'm tired of reading that Christian Serratos does not look like Selena nor dance like her or is too skinny, she had to audition for the part obviously they liked her best and seems to have a good personality and like she has said she is doing this for Selena and is trying very hard, so knock off the negative crap, if you don't like it don't watch it. As far as the criticisms of the costumes remember Selena picked them out for the band or made some herself, the first part is all about their beginning and the hard ships they had to face, they were turned down by many because it was said that a woman could not make it in the music business, especially Tejano music, Selena changed all that and paved the way for others, Christian has said that in Part 2 you will see more of her and how Selena evolved into a blossoming superstar, so come on let's give it a chance, remember, anything for Selena!
While I agree that the internet can be ruthless in their comments. You seem to forget that this was only green lighted because Abe wanted the money. He has been ruthless in keeping a tight grip on Selena’s legacy and money making ventures. He stopped Chris from writing a book about his experience with Selene because he couldn’t profit off it.
People have been so cruel to her, I can understand not liking it but being mean is unnecessary. She can’t become Selena, no one can 💔

Personally I think jlo definitely had Selena’s moves and body language down but Christian did a better job portraying Selena’s personality. Either way they’re both extremely talented women who did amazing an job portraying the queen of tejano!

It doesn’t feel like Selena, Lopez felt like you were actually watching Selena. This feels like a bad lifetime movie
López didn’t feel like anything but watching Jlo on that screen. She does not look more like Selena except for maybe physique. The format of the show is different then the movie because it’s a show. Lifetime though? Nah it’d definitely above TV quality in general. Some things here and there effect that more or less but it was not bad...the story wasn’t bad and the actors did a fine job of u ask me. Happy for them and their success. Let’s go Part 2

No, these are all in playback but I think the actors who had little to no previous background in music were given lessons on how to play so that they'll be able to mime along to the playback while filming.
