Wow, these are actually nice! Are you gonna pick them up?
how about europe? i live in Finland. I think somebody somewhere commented these won't be available in europe and if you order from amazon the price would be something like 1000€ or more.
For the price $380 i would absolutely have these glasses. I'd like if they added a diopter on their next model-
Got em and love em!
@@sakkel.7357 I bought them from Ebay Japan in Germany. Ended up with over 500€. The price on Ebay was 389$. Exchange rate 415€. Customs and taxes added up to additional 115€. So be prepared.
@@alexanderpoplawski577 how about ce-certificate?
@@sakkel.7357 No ce-certificate, only the TÜV Rheinland blue light certificate. I suspect the EU regulations are the reason why the real air isn't available in Europe, in the first place.
I own Oculus Quest 2 and NReal Air AR glasses. I’ve found I use the NReal Air AR glasses every day with my iPad Pro or iPhone to watch UA-cam, Netflix, Disney+ etc.. on 130 to 200 inch virtual screens. Whereas I have used OC2 once in a while ever since I had them. I feel claustrophobic wearing generic OC2 form factor HMDs. I love my NReal Air AR glasses as they’re very light weight and let me be aware of my surroundings and they look like thick framed Ray-Bans. Less awkward wearing in public places. Hope other companies take notes from the NReal Air AR glasses.
So is it like looking at a computer monitor or a huge screen?
@@acmeoneconnect A huge OLED screen. I have watched the 4K videos like this ua-cam.com/video/LXb3EKWsInQ/v-deo.html on it. They look amazing. Popping colors and deep blacks. I mainly use it at home but if you want to use them outside, they come with sun light blocking cover.
Thank you for adding chapters to your videos man. It means a lot
Thanks for the video! Once your suggestion of being able to change the prescription is added into a newer version, I will seriously consider getting these! Also, I think every company that makes TVs are now just like…well dame. - 😂
Great review so detailed always
i like your video dude , you speak with CLARITY ✔️, so honestly I LIKE cause we hear CAN HEAR YOU LOUD & CLEAR .
And Also What's New To Me Is That You Mentioned It Can Connect To The Xbox S through HDMI ✔️. I didn't know that before this .
Thank Dear Friend 👌🏼👍🏼
If you have a Dex phone you can turn off the phone screen and just put it in your pocket and use a controller. Also they have a beta right now for a Mac client where you can have 3 screens. I tried it yesterday on my M1 Mac Mini and it was awesome!
nice vid !! Liked and subd. About the usb type C - HDMI connector. Could it be any brand? I mean, its really expensive the one they sell... thanks
spoiler alert - they are freakin' INCREDIBLE. I use mine daily. CRAZY GOOD.
They are a great companion to the Steam Deck. Use them on the bus everyday. No joke. Don't even use the Deck's native screen anymore. When I'm out, I have the Air attached. When I'm home, it's docked.
@@Rhomagus yeah, they are great, hope they can use the AR function for steamdeck soon though, so the screen doesn't move with your head.
I use mine everyday as well
Can't wait for mines to come gaming whiel fishing lol
How well do these work with gaming? I want to use it for an Xbox Series X
Compatible with all Android phones (like Motorola Moto G for example)? Cell carrier agnostic (not limited to Verizon)?
What is the input lag for something like this when connected directly to HDMI adapter?
Oh boy, this and a Steamdeck on a long flight/train sounds like a ton of fun!
Only glasses with this size and weight could replace my monitor, hopefully with the recently announced AR2 chip that could be coming soon.
Thanks for the review. Whether or not they support 3d is pivotal for me.
I have a pair of Rokid Air for my Steam Deck but the picture is blurry in the edges. It looks like the lenses are to small for the display. How are these?
can we watch primevideo , Netflix and other OTT channels on native resolution on these [Nreal Air: AR Glasses] ? is this device HDCP certified ? if yes - which version of HDCP ? i do not want to buy first and regret later - please clarify
Can you change the surrounding? Like apps in VR can make it look like you are in the theatres.
Very cool, this is how I imagined the meta ray ban would be not a cheap spy cam 🙂
Any chance these could support a multi monitor type of configuration, by moving your head around, if you plugged into laptop or PC?
Hi, currently, only M series Macbook supports up to three virtual screens, also, it supports 3Dof function.
great to the point review
Hi :), whats the focal length on these? Maybe its possible to could go to poundshop (UK) for glasses and make your own insert for a couple of quid.
Hi, there is a prescription frame in the package, you can take it to the prescription store and get one. And the image distance of our glass is above 3meters.
9:12 This is fantastic, thank you. Being able to see that it's 24" from 1m away is helpful.
I'm still very impressed by them and might pick one up next time I'm in the mood to buy a new tech toy, though!
All bloggers say different values. Idk what to believe
I've already heard "It's like 17 inches from 90cm away" and "It's like 30 inches from 0,5 meters away"
@@kompanetspro2116 Yep, we're in an awkward time where there are no standards yet, that everyone understands and agrees on. The truth is that it's a 46 degree diagonal Field of View, which can ALL look 24" or 55" or 108" depending on your distance.
By the way, I bought an xreal gen1 during Prime Day, and it was... okay? It's early-adopter fodder right now. I didn't fall in love with it, and ended up returning it.
Plus points:
+ OLED black is fantastic.
+ infinite focal point means that things look uncannily three dimensional.
+ 46 degree FoV feels as large as the 55" display that I use as a monitor, if I'm reclining comfortably back in my chair.
Minus points:
- It has lousy color profiles compared to my Hisense U8H, so the contrast feels too gaudy.
- The inner architecture of the headset reflects off of the mirrors and lenses of the display.
- Incredibly picky sweet-spot, which is difficult to achieve and even more difficult to maintain for long stretches of time.
- They haven't found a perfect solution (yet) for having the glasses plugged into your phone and the phone charging at at the same time.
- PC drivers are still awkwardly in beta, difficult to obtain, difficult to use, and third party demos may arbitrarily cease to function with future xreal versions.
- My eyelashes brush against the inner mirror.
- If your vision isn't perfect, be prepared to pay for custom lenses.
I have a lot of faith in and hope for this technology, but right now it is, again, for early-adopters.
Great Job!
Viture One AR Glasses have diopters built in. Due to be released in Dec 22.
and the support SBS 3d! Although nReal tells me that in a month they will be adding that to their firmware,.
Yeah I have the Nreals myself and love them but waiting to see how the Virtue Ones do too. The neckband is amazing and the Nintendo switch converter is awesome too.
@@reviewsvr7083 I very nearly pre-ordered the Viture’s but their website does not confirm if you are able to pin the screen in space. I am not keen on having the screen move around with head movement. With Nreal’s you can only pin the screen with the Nebula App, which is reliant on specific Android phones. Whereas I am an Apple device owner (Iphone, Ipad pro) and Steam Deck / Switch. All of which can’t run Nebula. These AR glasses hold such amazing promise and I am really looking forward to buying a pair. I love the lightness and comfort aspect compared to donning a heavy Quest 2 to watch a film (700 plus grams vs 78 grams for AR glasses).
Looks cool, did you mention battery life? Maybe I missed it. Or is it cord powered?
No battery, that uses your phone battery
Hi, the glass doesn't have built-in battery, it requires to be powered by cable connection with phone or PC.
how would you plug a powerbank to this while connected to the phone?
Hi, currently, we don't have play&charge solution from Nreal official, but we are trying to explore the solution.
I'm surprised you didn't show the 3dof mode although I guess you might not have the right phone as only a few are compatible and therefore capable of running the 3dof mode.
Yes, actually the 3Dof mode is good! But yeah, iphones don't support it and also not all Android phones. I believe most people will use them how I showed them being used here.
🤔 can micro OLED Nreal glasses can play PS5 VR Grandtorismo or Xbox series X StarWar Squardran games..!
So how do you adjust the IPD? Does the Smartglasses support VR games?
For both: No.
Actually, going a bit further into them, they KINDA support SOME StemVR games. You can't play most games because of extremely low FOV and lack of controls, but you can play like virtual tabletop games etc. So... Yes, they can play games, within tight limits.
Hi, the Nreal Air glass cannot adjust IPD, but it is suitable for a wide range of IPD (56mm-70mm). And for the games, you can play SteamVR games by CloudXR function.
Very interesting. So how long if ever before big screen TV is obsolete?
From a single's perspective, they already are, but if you have a loved one you like to watch movies with or throw parties on the regular to have your friends over for the big game, these glasses won't replace a big screen TV. They could replace a 1080p 60hz computer monitor though.
@@Rhomagus So they can do 4K 120hz like my Samsung 82 inch TV when I watch bluray?
@@jodyschultz5870 Review says 1080p 60 Hz comparable to a 24" screen 1 meter away. Big screen TV is not getting replaced anytime soon, but this is a nice option for people who want to watch media or play games while on the go. Pairs nicely with a Steam Deck.
@@jodyschultz5870 No. But 4k only matters on large screens and you get diminishing returns the larger you go. 120hz is pointless for films meant for 24fps. TVs also have higher latency. If someone has a 1080p big screen, then this is a fine replacement. Unless you're throwing parties. Using a 4k TV as a monitor is just circle jerk territory.
I wonder. . . do they specifically ask you not to show video the device connected to your PC?
Great vid! Hey what do you think the Apple and Samsung AR glasses comes out in 2023? I'm really excied about the samsung glass.
sucks we'll have to wait so long for a 4k, 6dof, 120 fov version of this.
Lol 3 years
their glasses. it's never gonna be 120 fov normal glasses aren't even 120 fov
Great comparison about the screen size!
Thank you
24" from 1m away is not rally good enough for working ar any immersive content consumption.
Needs to be at least ,24 from 60cm to replace a single 24" monitor
Idk what you took away from his video, but the screens are gigantic. I use an 85 inch 4k TV as my computer monitor, and the screen in the glasses absolutely DWARVES it. It's humongous. You can hardly see the entire screen without darting your eyes around.
@@cheeeeezewizzz All bloggers say different values. IDK what to believe
Maybe they're all trying different soft of something
Does the Diopger Changing Thing that Rokid has work for progressive glasses wearers?
Nope.
Hi, the prescription solution of the Nreal Air glass is different to Rokid, you can insert a frame into Air and see through.
@@XREAl_Tech_Support When will the Nreal Air be available in Europe?
@@rcerrejon Hi, we will try to expand the online store in EU regions.
I use mine with my Steam Deck and they are amazing. I was lucky enough to find a local specialist optician who could make the prescription lenses, but Seb is correct the typical chains won't have a clue. Go somewhere that is more bespoke if you need the lenses making, and I can vouch that they work great. Nreal Air is a very cool and useful bit of kit, and for productivity as well really useful.
well one meter away yes ....but if u sit on your couch it can be bigger than your tv because that's more than 3 meters away
Can you use it as a computer monitor?
Yes. Either USB-C or HDMI.
Hi, yes of course. If your PC support USB-C&DP output, then you can connect the glass directly, the glass can work as mirror or expanded screen. And if PC comes with HDMI only, then Nreal Adaptor is required for connection.
For anyone interested, the glasses do not have the 3D SBS option. The company promises to introduce but it is not known when.
They do have 3D SBS option now!
So you can play your video games in 3D via Geo-11 (Geo 3D) or SuperDepth3D (Z3D)
The most valuable device in this video was the Xbox Serie S. Nice.
the apple dongle is very hacky. odd as it works with a mac laptop. the rokid plugs straight into an iphone
Doesn't the 46 degree FOV make them really annoying to use? I have the Nreal light and I stopped using them after 2 days. The field of view was worse than a HoloLens making it completely unusable (and I think they have a wider FOV than the air!?). I guess the extra clarity would be good, but if you're going to buy a device, a Pico 4 or Quest 2 would be an infinitely better way to spend your money...
This glasses isn't about VR.
They less of a VR replacement than they are a practical screen casting device.
I agree, I bought a pair and am returning them. The limited field of view is annoying especially coming from a PCVR and a Quest Pro. For anyone who travels, doesn't wear glasses and doesn't have a VR headset to compare this might be good for them.
@@David-ty6my Quest and Pico have AR features (mixed reality). But what I'm suggesting is that if you are going to spend money on a device for watching media, the experience on a Oculus 2 or a Pico 4 is far superior in every way - apart from physical size - the resolution, FOV, controllers, library of apps, etc. are all better (even the black and white AR on a Quest or the colour passthrough on the Pico is more useful). Plus, you get excellent VR experiences as well! And these devices are very close to the same price. I've also personally used Nreal before - a device which is almost identical - although the older version had slightly better specs for some reason. My personal experience/opinion owning all three, is that you will use Nreal for a week (because of the novelty value) and then place it in a draw and forget about it while continuing to use a Quest 2 or a Pico 4. Try the AR game Cubism on the Quest 2 and compare that to any experience on Nreal.
They are very different devices and use cases. These are best described simply as being a 'personal display'. The pair great with the Steam Deck. I use mine either with that, or when in bed I connect to laptop and watch youtube/netflix/stream from steam.
Will the app come to iPhone?
On iPhone you can just use air casting, basically what I showed in the video. You don't need the app.
@@MRTVDeutsch right. I guess I’m just wondering if they will ever make the app available to iPhone
Hi, you can connect the glass with iPhone by Nreal Adaptor, and you can get a mirror screen of your iPhone in this use case.
@@XREAl_Tech_Support yes I know. I was wondering if you’re ever going to bring the app to the iPhone. It would also be awesome if you had some kind of navigation vr app for driving. Be sick
So it's more or less like looking at a computer monitor?
Hi, it is not only like looking at a monitor, the glass can provide 130 inches virtual screen under mirror casting mode. And also, you can have AR experience if you get a compatible Android phone. And the glass can work with your PC that comes with USB-C & DP output. Finally, if you have M series Macbook, you can have three virtual screens by our Mac Nebula.
This needs a phone hardwired in? Why can’t I do wireless smart casting to this NReal? I mean I can stream to my smart TV using smartcast and airplay. I mean it’s nearly $400!
Can you hook this up to a laptop?
Yes.
Hi, yes, you can connect the glass to your PC by USB-C or HDMI interface.
For the prescription, I saw one guy did a video and he used a Dremel tool to cut his own.
This design is hot!
But why they didn't put knobs like Rokid Air did for people wearing glasses?
With this approach, every person using glasses has to have their own pair of Nreal Air which is kind of stupid :/
Looks like Rokid Air is a better approach with knobs and what is more important you can lock the screen in place and not follows your head everywhere.
Second issue - why only 1080p if we have for so long already 4k VR (or even bigger) headsets with small screens inside.
Conclusion: none of them a worth buying. Will wait for 4k (or at least 1440p), with over 75Hz refresh rate, built-in diopters, and where we can change the size of the visible screen.
Hi, thanks for your suggestion. We did many investigations before providing the current prescription solution, we want the users can also see through the glass clearly, not only see the virtual screen or AR things. Anyway, we will try to explore better solutions which can meet the requirements of more users.
Only HUUUUUUUUGE downside for these glasses r they run off your devices battery. for instance. I have the galaxy fold 3 . When i hooked up to these glasses. I ran out of phone charge from 100 percent in about 1 hour under normal usage .
"... up to the first knuckle."
There's one thing that is *extremly* annoying about all the AR glasses (except: Hololens) I tried so far: the screen is fixed to your head, not your surroundings. So, effectively, the screen will follow you, it's not possible to "look away". That is one big thing that is much more pleasant in VR. The NReal Air would be perfect to play, e.g., with a Steam Deck (it works wonderfully with it, I tried), if the (virtual) screen was stationary instead of being nailed to your face... So, NReal, next time, please add spatial tracking, then it's a deal.
ua-cam.com/video/2OJCUk3LDGs/v-deo.html
It's because these are not AR glasses. They are small form factor video glasses. The FOV isn't wide enough to have room for a large moving screen. Also as far as I know there's also no 3D, so it wouldn't work anyway... HDMI video glasses are kinda old invention and as far as I can tell only thing special in these is the form factor.
EDIT: Apparently it does support 3D, but there are no apps / content for it.
According to TechLinked - or is it ShortCircuit - these NReal Air glasses do VR too so Yes to 3D vr180 and vr360? Double check though!
The company said on Reddit that you can watch stereoscopic 3D video on the Nreal Air if you have a 3D player connected.
Vuzix shield has spatial tracking and 3D in a similar form factor, looks like their new Ultalite was just announced too. Might be worth checking out, I feel the same.
Wish they included 3d capabilities. Kinda of a huge miss.
I Said The Same Thing, I Got A Pair A Few Days Ago They Are A Game Changer Tho
Agreed. It's not like the hardware couldn't do it. It's a driver / software problem, which to be honest, has been the biggest problem I've had with this device that no UA-camr has really covered. The update process is often broken or overly convoluted. The software side of things isn't quite up to snuff, but the hardware is incredibly practical.
It does do 3D video
@@homer3189 you sure it do? Bcuz I don't see where
This
Doing the math, at 46 degree field of view it will look like a 24 inch screen at 2 ft away, not 1 meter. A bit larger.
Well, considering Sebastian first said it was 130" at 3 meters, then 24" at 1 meter... One is 80% higher FOV than the other. We're not being highly precise here.
@@Niilomaan yeah, I don’t fully trust them when they say these numbers, so I did the math myself. Using a 16:9 screen calculator to get measurements, I can get the width. Knowing the angle of field of view, and dividing tv width and angle a by 2, I get all I need for measuring distance of a right triangle from a tv. Sin A (10.45 inches for a 24 inch screen)/ angle a (46 degrees divided by 2, so 23) = sin B (distance from tv in inches, unknown) / angle b (180 - 90 - 23 gives us angle b of 67 degrees). Comes up with 24 inches, 2ft. Using the screen calculator, only need to change side a’s measurements to get the distance you’d have to be from any given screen size to compare to the screen size of these glasses. But, I particularly want to know if it feels more like sitting further from a larger screen than it feels like sitting closer to a smaller screen. Nice thing about knowing how to do the measurement, you can take your tv at home, run the math, and sit the right distance from the tv to see the screen size comparison these will really give you.
Edit: finally those advanced algebra classes are paying off a bit! Lol
I tried them but returned it.
The idea is great but the resolution, brightness and refresh rate were too low for me.
The colors don't look as good as my OLED tablet/ phone.
In mirror mode you couldn't change the screen size or lock the screen in place (it follows your head everywhere). No customizable options.
No stereoscopic 3D for 3D movies. (It should support side by side or over/under file playback)
All deal breakers.
If you can't use these with glasses, this will be a lost cause in the market. It's completely unexeptable the way they expect to solve your visual needs. They should have just made a bulkier version for those with eye wear.
patiently waiting for a review or anything on the crystal.. instead we get yet another youtube nreal ad. woooo
Oh well, it's not an ad if you mention negative aspects as well. Did you actually watch the video?
I can faintly see what you're watching projected over your eyes and it's creepy looking
Dude it's 130 inches. I just don't know how to get it to that size. Do complete research before posting misformative content on the internet
Again I have to dispute you a bit here. If you sit at your desk and hold it in front of your 24 inch monitor the image us going to look like it's 24".
if you simply turn around and face your wall in the back sitting on the same chair and do the same test , suddenly the image will appear to be 130"
The reason for this illusion is mathematical. The glasses don't have any depth adjustment the image in the glasses is a fixed FOV when looking through the glasses and seeing the projected image your eyes will converge at the depth of whatever it is you are looking at and since the FOV in the glasses is fixed the screen will seem smaller.
Try this experiment. While wearing the glasses hold your Nintendo switch 12 " from your face and then tell me how big the image seems compared to the switch. Suddenly the nReal Air's image will look like it's 7". 👀
so if you are looking at a wall 14 ft away than the screen looks 130 but looking at the a wall 24 inch away it looks 24 inch ?
@@quangyung6751 yup it's weird but true, watch @Matteo311 's review of the Air notice that he tested the size in the same way MRTV did an note his results.
Why would you watch TV/movies at all to begin with...
They’re basically useless with iPhone. So there’s that
Nope, you would need that adapter I show in the video.
Sorry, cant take anyone who buys the Xbox series s seriously.
