    Thank you for your honest, no-gloss, video of your 50+ nighttime skin care routine. Your skin looks glowing and youthful! At age 54 after many years of neglecting my skin care, I’m noticing more dark spots and fine lines (most likely from everyday sun exposure) that I would like to try to minimize. Your video gave me a great start on products and a simple routine for nighttime skin care . Now, to figure out my morning routine. I typically wear minimal makeup (usually mascara and some eyeliner) so, for now my focus is on skin care.
    I’ll definitely be subscribing and checking out your other skin care videos 👍

      Thank you Elizabeth, it sure does make my routine super fast. But it is actually pricey up front if you use this particular retinol serum. But it is affordable in the long run since 1 bottle will last over a year. But any quality retinol or retinoid will work to make this a fast 3 step routine. 🤗

    250$ which is the retail price of this serum is equivalent to my 6 months skincare budget. And that includes 6 months supply of 0.1% Tret, my ordinary Cu-peptide (which is similar to the Ole Henrikson peptide cream), my ceramide mist, my Laneige sleeping mask, my JoJoba oil cleanser and my ceramide cleanser 🤔.

    Hi!! Hearing that you see better results with this retinol vs. prescription retina is prompting me to try this routine! I’m using TT vitamin c but I wonder if I can try this instead.

    • @GracefulBeautyWithSheri
      @GracefulBeautyWithSheri  2 роки тому

      I use the TT Vit C in the morning and sometimes at night when I don't use this retinol serum. But no need for an extra C serum on nights you use this particular retinol since it already has a high amount of the C serum in it. It's basically a few serums in one. But if you use a different retinol, sure you could use the Vit C too. Hope that helps. 💜

    Hi Sherri. As someone with ultra sensitive, rosacea and eczema prone dry skin (plus completely menopausal at 50 - last period at 46), my skin wouldn't tolerate such a strong retinoid. I've been using retinoids for a few years, but my favourite form is retinaldehyde. i did use tretinoin for almost two years, but when the rosacea flares became more frequent (after true menopause) switched back down to retinaldehyde. I use on alternate evenings to prescription 15% azelaic acid. Obviously during a flare I have to skip using a retinoid, but when my skin is a bit calmer it does tolerate it fine with a rich moisturiser on top. My skin isn't keen on vitamin c (including some of the derivatives), so I use the Niod MG which includes superoxide dismutase and pycnogenal for antioxidant protection. My toners etc include green tea, white tea, licorice, centella and other antioxidants also. The Niod MG helps my redness/sensitivity and is worth the money for me. For cleansers and moisturisers I use affordable products, but will spend a bit more on my retinoid and spf. That's how I budget around my purchases - spending more on the most effective/important items. Best wishes.

    have you tried red light therapy for the melasma? i have a red light panel and i don’t even use it regularly but it has made a MASSIVE difference with lightening hyperpigmentation and reducing redness. it’s amazing.

    • @GracefulBeautyWithSheri
      @GracefulBeautyWithSheri  2 роки тому +4

      Oh no, red light makes melasma darker. But yes I did try it years ago and wish I never did. It's good for hyperpigmentation, wrinkles, redness and sun spots but typically not good for hormonal melasma. Melasma hates heat, hates red light, hates energy that goes deep down and can heat up. But totally ok for hyperpigmentation. 🤗

      Hey Melissa, No never in a row, usually Mon and Thurs and sometimes a Saturday. Sometimes I don't even mist...I just don't dry my face and leave it wet after cleansing. Or I put 2 drops of retinol in my hand and spray 2 or 3 sprays of the mist, mix with my finger then apply. Or I just mist my face before and then apply. It really doesn't matter...just as long as you apply the retinol to damp skin. But I know Ben Fuchs says to use his mist for better penetration. I do really love his mist but I see the same results personally with any mist. 🤗

    I’d love to see what you use on the other nights that you don’t use the TT 5% Retinol serum, I’ve not long started to use it and can manage to use it every night if I want to but because of the colour of the colour of the bottle it’s hard to see what’s left of the product so I go between my TT 5 % Retinol serum and then on the other nights I use my Osmosis skincare products, I’m actually finding that I can see more of a difference in my skin using the Osmosis skincare over the TT products, I usually incorporate the TT C balm with the 5 % Retinol serum and don’t use a moisturiser on top of those products. I wish they could come up with a better colour of the bottle as it’s almost impossible to see when your getting low and I have to purchase them from the USA 🇺🇸, it’s the only way I can get TT products. ❤️❤️❤️.. .. Hope you love it. Yes I have tried all of their products. They send me their products months before they are released so I fortunately get to test out things in advance. Honestly I didn't care for all the fragrance and it didn't really do much for me as far as anti-aging. But don't let my results discourage you. My husband liked the texture and ease of it, but it didn't help with anti-aging for him either. It made his skin soft but that was about it to be honest. But if you are brand new to retinols you may really enjoy it. 🤗 I think since I've been using retinols for so many years, I need the super potent stuff to see results.

      Hi Paige. hope you're feeling better now. I had it last year in February and it took me almost a year to fully recover. But my answer to that is NO WAY LOL. I would NOT start with this product. 🤪 Start with something gentle over the counter. Neutrogena has a nice p.m retinol moisturizer that is pretty gentle. Also if you have a Dermatologist, talk to them 1st before you try anything. If you have little pimples on your cheeks, it sounds more like rosacea, so maybe they can prescribe azelaic acid or you can get that too OTC but in a lower dose. But I'm not a Dr so I don't really know so please ask your Dr before you take my advice on stuff and find out what's actually causing it. If it is rosacea, I would avoid any skincare with fragrance and dyes and keep it simple and gentle. But I would not start with something as potent as this retinol.... as exciting as it sounds,...it's not for beginners unfortunately. 😩
      I use a few different sunscreens but my go to's are by DRMTLY, Colorescience, SkinMedica and if you have oily skin I love Panoxyl's SPF as well. But if you let me know your skin type I can better guide you to an SPF that's better for your skin. 🤗

      I wouldn't use when you're breastfeeding so just be careful with that too but it really depends on your skin. You could possibly do either or. Many can use the 1% gel daily but the 5% serum will last a lot longer since you only use 2x a week. The new serum is less irritating than the 5% gel but I've never really heard anyone say they had any irritation with the 1% gel. So prob not the answer you needed haha but I don't know what your skin can tolerate after not using a retinol or retinoid for over 9 months. I'd hate for you to get the 1% and not see fast results because you nost likely would with the new 5% serum. BUT I also don't want you spending this money if its too potent for you. Maybe get the tiniest 1% gel 1st and then see how your skin does and if all is good, bump up to the new serum. Congratulations on your baby!

      The 5% gel is also amazing. I still love that one. The new 5% serum is a little more gentle but still has the 5% retinol. It's meant for people who can't tolerate the 5% gel but still want the potency without irritation. But if the gel is working great, no need to really switch. The new serum is a bit more elegant too, since it's a serum and it absorbs super fast. But you can't go wrong with either of them. 🤗

      @GracefulBeautyWithSheri  2 роки тому +1

      Keep using that one. But this one is so much better. Of course texture is totally different. I didn't mind the gel's texture at all. But some people said it was too heavy for them (but probably because they were using too much or not mixing with the mist 1st). This new serum is less irritating for those who couldn't tolerate the 5% gel and had to keep using the 1%, so now those who used the 1% can bump up to 5% without the irritation like some experienced with 5% gel. (but again I think they were putting too much on and too often). This one is more expensive but I do like it a lot better and it soaks in instantly. It is a little more elegant than the gel. BUT to me, the gel is still amazing, this is just a bit more amazing. Oh and I never peeled with the gel but I have peeled a few times when I used this...but not flaky and not irritation. It was a neat peeling, like large pieces of skin. Pretty cool but only lasted for a day. I get more skin cell turnover and much faster with this new 5% retinol serum. But don't buy this if you still have the gel. I would use the gel up 1st. Hope that helps. 💜

      I'm bummed they discontinued it. I like the new one tho but I prefer the texture of the original better. And I like the added ingredients in the original one. Although the new version has even more growth factors, if the old one were still being made, I'd still buy that over the new since I had amazing results...and it was a smidge less expensive. I don't know of any dupes that an Oncology Dr would say is safe but I know there are a couple supposed ones out there. I have no desire to try them though unless a trusted Oncologist says they are safe. Growth factors aren't cheap for a reason and the ones that are, are too risky IMO.
