Hi Ben, I've been a guitarist/singer/songwriter for 46 years, I have now began learning bluegrass. I live in Ireland and have been exposed to a lot of music, just a week ago I caught you playing on youtube and thought THIS IS WHAT I WANT TO LEARN.!
I can't thank you enough for your help in unlocking the secrets of bluegrass picking,I've always loved this music and now at the age of 54 I'M PLAYING IT.
You have made me feel like I'm sixteen again,I'm really into this 100% THANK YOU.
@banjogirl1992 I play a 3 finger G, but not the normal 3 fingers. I fret the low E string on the 3rd fret w/ my middle finger, and mute the A string with that finger as well. Then, I play the B string on the 3rd fret with my ring finger and the high E string on the 3rd fret with my little finger. My index finger is left free to do other ornaments in my rhythm. I fret the B string on the 3rd fret to omit the major 3rd tone in the G chord, and replace it with the 5th tone (D) for overtone reasons.
The one and only! Jeremy is the best!
Yep! You can purchase any of my tabs for $5, and there's quite a few free tabs on the site as well. Thanks for your support of the site!
I think this is the best lesson you have done so far.. mainly because you really slowed it down... thanks! God Bless!
you re a really good teacher
greetings from italy
you make the world brighter Ben. keep smiling --)
Thanks alot. Love your videos :-)
@EasyN4 Hey brother! Thanks for the kind words...I pour my heart and soul into these videos/lessons/licks :) I'm using Elixir Medium Nanowebs on this guitar. I like Elixirs a lot, but there are other great strings out there. Come visit me on my website, BanjoBenClark . Thanks!
awesome!!!!
I have to agree with you Ben, McPherson guitars are just incredible. I had never seen one, and by chance, played one at a shop in Santa Fe. I was just floored. If I could afford one I sure would have one! What depth and woods are yours? They have so many options… You no doubt have the only one with Roman Numeral fret markers..nice….
Great endings Ben, and your set has come a long way from playin in the kitchen!
Ben, come to Kentucky and jam with us!
@juzanordinaryguy You would have stuck with the Taylor...until you played this guitar :) Hands down, all around...the McPherson can't be beat. I'm using a Shure KSM 32, and that is raw signal on the video. Straight to the camera, and straight through to export. Thanks!
@BanjoBen1 Tell us a little bit about those inlays. or make a video about it
Hey banjo Ben is that hat from the archery den?
