As a middle aged Mexican American who grew up poor in what was essentially the ghetto, one of the most beautiful things about music is to hear the beautiful melodies of all the different cultures from around the world. What else besides music could someone like me and where I grew up have such a beautiful experience with another person’s culture? There’s something beautifully primitive about listening to the faint sound of ancestors, and some artists are really good at channeling their ancestors, the cranberries was one of those bands. Gorgeous melodies, and Delores had such a beautiful accent to compliment those melodies.
Dolores O’Riordan and The Cranberries Dreams, primitive wailing, howling, cries from thousands of years ago, a very rare and most brilliant beauty, A song that will last forevermore
@Erik Griswold If TOTP was "live" 90% of those singers would've refused to go on it for fear of being embarrassed by their terrible voices and therefore sabotage their own careers.
A unique voice and beauty. It's very sad that you didn't stay here longer Dolores but you left a legacy with your voice that reaches into and tugs at the soul.
What's incredible to me is there is like zero reverb on her voice and she's still dominating. That's so hard to hit those notes even with a little extra umph coming from the reverb and she's just like "nah I'm good." RIP Delores!
I have to assume you don't have that good an ear for music, because she's clearly pitchy in this performance at several points. She was always much better in the studio than on the stage.
The song "Dreams" by The Cranberries, so brilliantly embodied by the ravishing Dolores O'Riordan, who died much too soon, with her breathtakingly beautiful, poignant voice, is a powerful musical work of art that expresses the longing for a better future and a better life. With powerful imagery and poetic lyrics, the song speaks of hope for change and a world beyond suffering and pain. It is about the idea that dreams and wishes have the power to change reality and offer an escape from the challenges of everyday life. At the same time, the song conveys a message of confidence and optimism, that even in the darkest moments there is still a spark of hope and light. The lyrics and melody encourage one to believe in one's dreams and goals and to overcome life's obstacles. Ultimately, the song speaks of the resilience of the human spirit and the ability to keep going and strive for something better despite all odds.

Man this was my go to song when my heart needed to be lifted up. I loved this song so much. Dolores voice was so beautiful. I played the heck out of that album. It was my favorite. Every song was a hit. But for me this song and Linger and Zombie and Pretty ❤ Rip Delores. We will never forget you beautiful angel.
Wow!! I saw the Linger Performance on this show, and when Pat mentioned that video about Dolores and the lads performing Dreams before, I was thinking one day I'd love to see that performance, Thank you so much for uploading this!!! Such a gem

Never has a woman seemed so vulnerable , yet powerful. What a talent Dolores.
No matter how bad the sound mixing was, it couldn’t hide Dolores’s angelic vocals. Rest in peace, We all love you! 💜
Ha and boy was this mixed terribly haha amazing she still sounds so good
Es verdad yo la amo y soy argentino.t extrañamos dolores

I was thinking the same thing. So much talent.
Did they turn off her mic and used her in person voice? That's what it sounds like to me.
I always liked the way her Irish accent came through in her singing ,
Yes, like in the video "ode to my family".
Her Limerick accent

I swear the entire RTE live sound department consisted of a single reverb button with two settings: Empty Oil Tanker and Off.

Dolores had a voice that rivaled a siren on a stormy, shipwrecked night, as well as the majestic and heart-warming voice...😊
*of an Angel!
she had a voice like a bad shite evacuating at a rapid pace
lucky for Odysseus she wasn't one. Hard to resist even tied to the mast with earplugs in
My favorite from Dolores. Voice of an angel. So vulnerable, yet so powerful.

What a loss it was to the world to lose such a lovely, talented girl. Bless you, Dolores.
2023. I never realised quite how spectacular they were at the time. And how much they remind me of the stone roses
2023 I just heard a cover of "Dreams" on the LL Bean youtube commercial.

Beautiful girl. Gone far too young. Always remembered.
Love from Toulouse, France.
Woeful sound from RTE as per usual. Took nearly a whole verse for the vocals to appear in the mix.
And spent the whole song adjusting volume & reverb with a shovel.
