4 months ago I asked what knife people wanted to see me make and the answer was a Bowie knife. So here it is! This took quite a bit of extra time due to moving and figuring out life all in the middle of this project. But it is finally done and I'm quite satisfied with how it turned out! I really enjoy the shape of the Bowie and might be making some full tang ones to sell in the future.
Thanks for watching!

THANK YOU!!! I'm so happy to see a true blade smith who can actually ''forge'' a blade. Really tired of seeing a smith(?) trace and cut a pattern then attempt to call it a forged piece. I try not to watch those channels. What a breath of fresh air and a pleasure to watch you work.
try torbjorn ahman, nils ogren, joey blacksmith, amazing kk daily, jason knight, black bear forge
most of them are blacksmith not bladesmith, nils ogren is an axesmith
Yes, I've watched some others also. There are just too many who just "cut and assemble" and I just don't watch them.
Many ways to skin a cat ;) Thank you very much though, really appreciate it!
ZNA is a guy that does both forging and trace&cut. his designs and the way he does it with the materials is just awesome.
Wouldn't it be easier though, once the steal has been annealed to cut the shape out rather than hammering it into shape?
I was expecting this to be a grizzled old man, turns out to be a very young man. The kid has some skills! Keep it up buddy!
To see someone create such a stunning piece of work made completely by hand is incredible. You have some serious skills which you should be proud of. Well done, I would love something like this 👏👏👏👏👏👏💯
Old school forging, I must say, I respect that
Beautiful and usable, everything a knife should be. A pleasure to see your work sir!
That is a beautiful piece! That is something you definitely take with you camping or hiking or mountaineering. Excellent job, sir!
I don't know, I'd personally prefer something a bit shorter. Like, maybe between 4.5-7" in the blade
That is some beautiful work there. Your detail to craftsmanship is impeccable. If you were self taught good on you, and if someone passed this craft on to you good on them. Nice knife, and nice work. 👍
Beautiful hand work. The handle flare and domed pins make me think of Nick Wheeler, but it's an absolutely lovely blade anybody would be proud to own, and in a pinch, I have no doubt it could do the job, whatever the job was!
love me this kind of videos, it is very satisfying to see how a tool of work with this knife is forged.
excellent video
Beautiful knife! James Black and Jim Bowie would be proud of your work.
Wow. I need to start up the forge and try a knife of this size!
I think this awesome Bowie knife is creeping into the short sword range. Nice work.
Very nice, it looks great, thank you for sharing it with us!
I’m just a novice knife maker but in the future during glue up on pieces like this one maybe use a file to make a small groove in the tang so the epoxy will have a place to travel. Love your work, you are a true craftsman.
That is a real beauty. And now you will need a nice sheath with some decoration maybe 😁👍👍
Man that's solid work! Great job!
Absolutely stunning work
I really liked it, I'm not afraid of this word, a work of art, you have talent! Even though I do the same thing myself, I am amazed! Thanks!
Some have it and others don't, you have it partner, you made a beautiful piece.
Very nice, inspiring channel- good to see you back!
The elbow grease... the leg action. The filing. Bro you just got yourself a sub.
the guard you made is just top notch !
That's a very well made and beautiful knife!!!
Mistrz nad mistrze chciał bym mieć taką praktyczną ostrą maczetę szkoda że u nas takich fachowców mało coś niezwykle dobrze wykonane można by było pana pracę godzinami oglądać ręczna robota i jak doskonale środek cieżkości umiejscowiony super
Beautiful knife! expert craftsmanship!
Only just found your channel and damn I'm impressed I'm aspiring to be a bladesmith myself so this is really entertaining I'd be happy if I could make a knife half as good as that.
Beautiful blade and fit. Well done sir!
That was awesome!!
Next project: a Viking axe
there is the danish axe but there is no viking axe
SwankMank I love you
Question is, Dane Axe or Sparth Axe?
@@Anino_Makata Let's say a Dane axe. I hope I became more specific this time.
@@vasiliskapsalis1086 Awww, c'mon. Why not a Sparth axe? They're awesome!
I really liked the part where you made a tiny chisel, that little tiny chip of metal you popped out was very satisfying, the same when you cut the wood for the handle, i always enjoy these kinds of videos!
That knife certainly beats anything on the market for a Bowie knife. A product for the mantlepiece for sure!
Very clean work! Big knives are a blast to make.
Thank you Liam. Yeah they're quite something hahaa
that's a work of art. Nicely done sir.
What a fantastic knife you’ve created there!! Brilliant!!🇬🇧
its the most beautiful knife I've ever seen
Greatcreation! I like the traditional blacksmithing that you use. You created a beautiful knife..
Excellent knife, great skills you have.
A masterpiece 😍
Beautiful knife. Freerk Wieringa makes badass bowies too
Nice work on the guard!
Sir first of all i would like to thank you for a really enjoyable forge, and what a lovely honest blade it is, most of them turn out to be just small if you will, but a giant bowie is the way forward, big is always better as you can put that bit more distance between you and the foilage, brush, etc, ive not yet read the comments but sir you worked that blade from start to finish a really outstanding video, the best part for me is when you started over, it shows you dont stand for nothing but your best, i dindnt see the overall length of your bowie sir but i will be asking for a quote on 1 of these sir, again thanks for a great outstanding video. 👍👏
Beautiful work.
Your attitude towards doing something till you get it perfect is enviable, nice dedication.
Absolutely stunning
Woah man you got some skills. Beautiful knife
cool shirt! I love death grips and Ex-military in particular.
It looks more like a cleaver. Great job! 👍
Stunning work
Amazing knife. The Noided Smith strikes again
Always a joy to watch you work. Too bad about the first one.
Was wondering where you were going with the holes in the guard. Now I know and it looks great!
Great job! Very inspiring
Awesome work bud. Pulling off a fit up like that is tough! Let me know when you get to Canada I’ll buy you a handle broach 👍🏻
Thank you John! Yeah it took a bit of time with the fit up right. haha I'll cue you for it once I'm across the pond ;)
You have a level of patience and commitment rivalled by nobody on this earth. I bet just forging that took hours, yet you started again. I woulda given up lol
It calms your nerves when you watch others work hard... ))
A true masterpiece!
wow NICE JOB, I LOVE IT MAN. GOOD WORKMANSHIP.
Uma das mais legais que já vi no UA-cam. As outras são um tanto pesadonas. Essa me pareceu a ideal.
Plot twist: this is actually a very small man forging a regular sized Bowie Knife.
It's a bowie knife not a box cutter😂
naw, he's got that ruler tattoo for scale
@@rustopholis1667 maby he got it in order to fool us into thinking he had normal size? 🤔
@@ericschafer8431 this man's got small poc
OH SHIT
Great work man!
Nicely done!
This'll serve the boys back on Catachan well!
If it’s good enough for Colonel Straken it’s good enough for me
Definitely something Sly Marbo would carry
Finally, thank you clink-clank guy! i'll watch this later, but it's good to see you back on forge. I still miss your shed though. Respect+
Then you'll get a happy surprise watching this video :) Thank you!
@@MakeNCreate no, thank You!
SURPRIIIIIISE!!
“ so i start it all over again” it must be hard bro
6:15 I feel you brother... Solid fuel is kinda tricky with heattreating. I've personally soon had enough lol
It'll do for short blades but anything longer than 4-5 inches and it can start to get annoying hahaa.
That's a verry beautiful knife!
This man has a ruler tattooed on his hand 😍😍
The king is back
a real good work! plausible!
I don’t understand why people dislike this kind of video
Omg!
Você tem uma forja a carvão !
Bom ter lo de volta
A little tip from a fellow knife maker. If you use a larger bit to widen your pin hole just on the and leave some excess brass you can heat the pin up with a slick sanding belt and peen it over much easier. The bit of excess will fill the surface gap and make it flush without any filing.
Thx for this great tip. Leaving me one question: what grain does that sandingbelt has? I asume not a course one like 36, but more a finer one?
@@ebel-janschepers3709 I use a 400 grit. Doesn't take off a lot but heats the brass up pretty quickly.
I felt in love with this knife... not bad i think its a nice variation of bowie.😉
Absolutely awesome
I’m really touched that he does all of this for our intertainment.
A beautiful knife!!!!
Beautiful blade, man that's a monster.
This bowie is your masterpiece! Beautiful! The sheath is equally beautiful. Where you at these days? You need to get making! 😁
Great job! Well done!
Good looking knife, job well done
Crush coal to smaller pieces (1-2cm diameter) , you will achieve more "stable" and efficient heating zone in your coal forge ;)
I know that pain when you accidentally burn/melt/overheat your work in forge...
Nice bowie!
7:27 that flip was awesome
When he was pushing that naked blade into the handle, my anxiety kicked in. thanks for that.
Now thats a Knife!
Beautiful.
Fantastic work man 👌
Expectacular!!!
Holy moly.. thats a lot of steel to move by hand. 😲
You are the Forge in fire Champion.Awesome blade you have made.Subscribed instantly:)
is good to watch ppl with epic talents likem this guy here :D
nice blacks mid skills!! Beautiful knife also! congrats
Awesome informational educational video experience Y'alls God Bless Ya
Great job and a beautiful knife you appear to use 2 different types of epoxy 1 for bedding and 1 for the final glue up of the handle what is the difference and what wood is the handle made of I notice it split very cleanly
This is great❤️❤️
Wow! A great
Iece of work!
Maravilloso...exelente...un arte..un joya..thanks..master.
Of all the Bowie knives I've seen made on here this is the closest to the original bowie knife I've seen, every other Bowie knife I've seen they always put the texas clip on, this has the french clip which is what the original bowie had, It also has the spanish infantry mans guard, so did the original bowie. Nice to see someone FINALLY be accurate to history for a change. It may be bigger but the design is spot on.
beautiful bowie and handle
I wished that it was liagle in denmark and that i was as good as you you are a god of making stuff like swords knifes and all that kind of stuff
Nicely done
That's basically a cutlass, or a hunting sword. Also reminds me of some Filipino blades. Good work.
