I cannot state enough how much I LOVE the fact that Tom is continuing his self imposed challenge of trying to get an ad skit rejected by surfshark.
Every single time im like "They actually accepted that. How fucking neat is that"

I cannot state enough how much I LOVE SponsorBlock keeping me blissfully ignorant of what it is you're talking about. If it weren't for Tom's video directly addressing this story, your comment would have been gibberish to me.
He's not trying to get fired anymore. He has completely given up on that and just said "Fuck it I'm gonna make whatever"
Oh my god I skipped it first and only watched it after reading your comment, THANKS!

I'm not convinced Eddache actually tried, he didn't even make a cake but a "cake". But it was fun to see 3 guys who's cooking knowledge comes down to microwaving TV dinners.
The edible paint was the best part, you can eat it without getting sick but it taste really bad. Elliot did taste his cake during training but skipped tasting the paint and it cost him everything.
I think there is a lesson somewhere here but my baking skills is honestly pretty poor too, I can cook but I haven't baked since school either so the lesson went over my head too.
@@loke6664 I'm sick of people saying Eddie half-asses his stuff.
He put as much effort as everyone else, he just picked an unorthodox method.
@@HiperPivociarz I am just saying he is terrible at baking, nothing else.
I been subbing to Eddache for a long time now, way longer then this channel but he is not the person I would hire to bake my birthday cake (well, I wouldn't hire Tom or Elliot either but at least you can define what they made as "baking").
@@loke6664 I feel like if he tried baking, it would end up about as good as Tom or Elliot's. He just didn't do it, because he didn't think he's gonna get lawyered on the definition of cake.
@@HiperPivociarz The episode is called "Baking the tallest cake" and he didn't exactly bake.
Eddie can be very inventive but here he just went for the absolute easiest option. He is way funnier when he makes something complicated and weird.
Yeah, getting his young kid to help him was still very entertaining and it is possible that is why he stayed away from any heat but he basically made a worse version of Elliot's Jenga tower and put Rapunzel on top of it (Rapunzel was still a better idea then Elliot's paint though).
If I hadn't seen a lot of these guys I would have thought they were faking it but they do surprise me at times, like Elliot's banana viral personality so sometimes one or all of them do really well, other times like this it is a disaster. It is what makes the "Try hard" series so entertaining.
The Irony of Eddie teasing tom with "is that even a cake" only
to get disqualified for "not baking a cake" is just Icing on the cake.

definitely not on the *cake*, but icing nonetheless

As soon as Elliot described how he thinks cake pops are made, I knew it wouldn't turn out like he planned.
I liked the part where he described cake pops as chocolate covered cakes, because we all know the pop stands for chocolate covered and is not a portmanteau on the word lollipop, describing it's shape and general look
it's so funny as I have made cakepops many times and they are notorious for not sticking together/standing up... so not a great idea for a height competition
I love the three completely different attempts,
Elliot didn't know how to bake a cake, so he took something he knew how to do and ran with it,
Tom didn't know how to bake a cake, so he painstakingly learnt how to from scratch,
Eddie didn't know how to bake a cake, so he decided to Frankenstein a cake substitute.
Or to put it another way Eddie didn’t bake a cake at all, he glued cereal together with chocolate and chilled it to make it solid

If anyone was wondering why Elliot’s cake pops went south so fast, it’s because cake pops are made by crumbling a pre made cake into pieces then using an agent like icing to secure them back together into a desired shape :)
Not to mention at that shape and size they were never going to adhere to the stick while being dunked or even flipped.

"this is a show where we all love our wives” you never disappoint Thomas "TomSka" Ridgewell
Wait, he only measured the cake part of Tom's, didn't he?
Because insofar as Eddie's cake was in the running, Tom's rice krispy head should have counted toward the win.
Very glad his earnest effort paid off regardless, that was very wholesome
Ah yes. Eddie's "cake"
@@angterrastriker6535 Yeah his "cake"
Sorry for the major necro, but part of me wonders if that was intentional on Dan's part, since a big part of him calling out Eddie was the cereal-based recipe he was using (along with obviously the lack of heat). While Rice Krispie Treats generally require heat to melt the marshmallows and bind them to the cereal, I could totally understand if Dan saw that part of Tom's cake as similar enough to Eddie's that there might be a fuss (even if a feigned/exaggerated one). I do agree though, as someone who's watched entirely too many cake competitions on Food Network, the standard is definitely to have counted everything above the base (in this case, being the custom base of the stool with the cat butt underneath).
@@JacklynBurn That's my point though. They're equally dubious, so if it counts they both count.
@@woodfur00 Ah, okay, I seem to have misread/misunderstood what you originally said, my bad! I think Dan was leaning on the "neither counts" side but also Tom and Elliot probably didn't want the episode to end with telling Eddie to kick rocks.

last time we saw Tom and Dan in the same room it irreparably damaged my sense of humour so this is gonna be fun
Just fuck it
You know it's gonna be a good day when hell's kitchen makes a new episode
I think this is the best tryhards video yet. Really fun seeing the boys prepare on their own and then being together for the competition it self!
Somehow, this show always falls into the same formula (but in the best way):
Tom: tries his best, but ultimately falls short of his aspirations
Eddie: doesn't really try, but still has a lot of fun along the way :)
Elliot: blows the competition out of the water by going not the extra mile, but the extra 10 miles, and treats the competition as if his life depended on it to the point of actually making something relatively impressive, yet still achieves about the same quality as the other 2
I love this show. Much love to the 3 of you
12:26 Took me a moment to realise that the table Tom put his cake diagram on is Squidge
The revelation that Tom had been bashing the air out of all his test bakes was just the icing on the cake of this video ahAHAHAHAHA
Tom "Don't make me confront the reality of the situation" Ridgewell when referring to eggs was so valid
The cut between Eddie singing a kids song about baking cake to tom's aggressive method killed me

As someone who bakes, I saw.
I actually screamed when Elliot poured the water into the chocolate
I appreciate Tom's anger at electric hobs... "you know what would heat up quicker!? Fire!"
I love this quote
I love the different reactions they have to being jumpscared by Dan. Tom's too busy being stressed out to react with anything but sheet rage, Elliot is legitimately terrified, and Eddie has a knife.
I'm so happy for Tom and I hope he keeps baking he seemed to genuinely enjoy himself
Amazingly enough, this was the hardest challenge in the entire series and it wasn't the "tallest" that was the problem but the "baking" part.

because Tom actually wants challenge in his life and wants to explore the life and its beauty, whereas the other two are just participating because job description tells that... @@ashvienis I wouldn’t say that. Obviously Elliot’s gone now but there’s plenty of episodes that show him putting a lot of effort. Take the Music one or the Trickshot one for instance.
Eddie is a bit of a stranger case but that’s mostly because he always goes for the sort of out of box methods. It doesn’t necessarily mean he isn’t trying. Hell he spent two hours on the trickshot episode trying to hit something into a hole, he’s definitely putting effort in.
