Listen to the applause from both sides of the aisle.
When congress wishes you a happy birthday, you know you're someone special!
I never never imagined that a U.S. can deliver a speech on their birthday as they delivered that state of the union speech on a random early date of the year. Good speech and Happy birthday, Mr. President!
There can be no doubt that Ronald Reagan is among our very best Presidents. Add to all he addressed here, the collapse of the Soviet Union and the potentially millions of lives lost to a US/Sino war, makes him the greatest peace keeper of all time. His goals were achieved without a single shot being fired or single life being lost. There can be no greater achievement in all of mankind than this! Just the thought of a career Army officer and proud American.
Tip in the background was a loyalist to the party with his shenanigans but still clapped on universal issues that all Americans believed in at one time. President Reagan had very good relationship with leader of the opposing party. You might not ever see that again
A high point in history of American pride.
He was truly a real American, a humble man with great insight, and humility because of who he was.
The greatest President
I'm 5 minutes in and crying my eyes out. I remember this time when everyone was united, even though our opinions differed we treated others with respect. It was our honor code.
Compare that to today, almost 40 years later, where people are lazy, entitled, and will stop at nothing to cause harm to others who have different opinions.
We have come a long way, and not for the better.
@@cward1954yes. It seems both conservatives have moved to the extremes. What will it take to bring BOTH them back to the moderate center??
I may not agree with his handling of economics, but I don’t envy those who had to debate him. No forgetting lines or discussing obscene topics.
Why can't we have a President deliver a State of the Union like this anymore?
Because we have too many relying on the government for a paycheck or support.
Regan y yo nacimos 6 febrero el mismo dia
I swear to Christ every time I hear this man speak I bawl my eyes out. Not only for the fact because of the conviction he speaks with that resonates with me, but because I morn. That America has been, and is dead since he left the oval office and these times and this America I knew as a kid are never coming back. You will never, ever, ever hear a President speak like this again. With great communication, poise, resolve inspiration, and humility.
I agree completely and I'm 78 years old. Thank God we had him, buy will we ever have another like him.
We are not supposed to go backwards this shows we have, all you have to see are his 8 state of union addresses.
A real President giving a real State of the Union Address.
just five days old then
I met VP Bush in Puerto Rico this year I was in 8th grade Ft Buchanan!Today Im 51..Trump 24!!!!
Such camaraderie is virtually non-existent today, a wonderful reflection of a bygone era.
Ray-gun hit it out of the park economically, after that rough start and high interest rates to combat the inflation he inherited.
once upon a time in america

Cause the rona didn’t exist back then
How similar President Reagan and President Trump are and were. Both were not politicans. President Reagan was this country's hope for the future in the 1980's and President Trump is this country's hope now!!!! We need to fight to keep him.
In fairness, Reagan was governor of California from 1967 to 1975. Trump on the other hand had never held any political office, nor did he have prior military experience.
To compare Reagan with Trump is digusting. Reagan had dignity, class, charm, and was a uniter. He was very hard to dislike even if you disagreed with him, a wonderful statesman indeed. By contrast, Trump has no dignity, class, morals, or charm and is a divider. Even if you agree with him, it is hard to like that moron.
Trump doesn't hold a candle to this man.
