    I imagine that a bottle stopper chuck would be great for these.

      Umm. Never thought of that, probably because I have not turned an egg since I got a bottle stopper mandrel. I will have to try that.

    Coffee grounds and CA glue. That's a new one for me. I guess they won't all be going in the garden from now on. Thanks Mike

      Sometimes an old trick for one is a new trick for another.

      @@MikePeaceWoodturning I'll bet it would work really well with spalted maple. Would you suggest regular ground or dried used?

    Mike, you're a good egg, err you turn a good egg. Nice template / story stick. As you said no two eggs are alike but that stick gets you a good start. The more I see of texturing the more interested I become. I know a lady that likes to paint wood objects. I guess I'll have to make a few eggs for her to work on. Thank you for sharing. Have a great day and stay healthy.

    I like using my collette chuck to hold my sanding arbours.

      Me too. I figured I would show what most new turners might have or could use next.

    Thank you for this great video. It inspired me to have a go at making an egg. I turned mine out of a 2x2 piece of purple heart. It turned out beautiful!!

    Wow, seemed funny seeing this. I just turned a few eggs 2 days ago, using your jig from a previous video you did. They came out nice, I like the size. I used my skew as much as possible, so it was good practice for me.

    • @MikePeaceWoodturning
      @MikePeaceWoodturning  3 роки тому

      Very cool! Eggs are great skill builders for using a skew. So now try the jam chuck.

    I'm sure it was one of your videos Mike, where you drilled a hole through the the back of the jam chuck to 'Facilitate' removing the piece on a tight fit . Time for me to make a few eggs

    "Close enough for government work" made me choke, and I'm STILL gasping and laughing. Thank you for the best new line I've heard in ages. :)
    Nice egg, too! Love the template.

      Glad you enjoyed it. When I started working for the Federal govt many years ago and said that, the lady I worked for was pretty annoyed.

      Ditto. I think it is universal around the world ( Oz). Made an egg a couple of years ago from your earlier video. maybe time to make another one 😎
