I'm crazy about Daffodils too ... they are my very favorite flower and have been since I was just a young child. Moss Mountain Farm is nothing short of magical, and as a longtime fan of P. Allen Smith, I appreciate all that is shared. Blessings always.
Wow over 450,000 daffy's, that's some serious work! but well worth the effort, it's such a stunning view! Daffodils bring that much needed colour, sunshine all round! 👍😊
I just found your channel on UA-cam after many years of watching you on PBS stations. I must say that you seem like one of the absolute nicest people. I always feel like giving you a big hug when I first see you & then again when I know you are signing off. I love all that you share, but I just really like YOU.
Well. Where have I been???? Am I the ONLY PERSON IN THE WORLD who has never seen P. Allen Smith? What a wealth of excellent information and presented in such a relaxed style. Looking forward seeing much much more (it seems I have a LOT of catching up to do!) : )
Today is perfect weather to work on my garden but I am sick in bed with the flu. Watching your channel today has brought me so much comfort. I'm looking forward to the growing season!
I love watching your shows since I was a kid. It reminds me of the days when my mom was alive. She would watch you all the time😉it let's me be with her a little bit while when I watch you. Keep doing what your doing. Love ya!!!
id77 Awesome! Please come say hi, I’d like to meet you. Let me know you saw this video. It’s supposed to warm up next week and the daffodils should be spectacular!!! 💚🌱🤗
My family and I have been praying to come! We follow all your videos and finally made our No. 1 bucket list item a reality! We are driving from MS straight up to see your beautiful paradise! SO EXCITED! @@PAllenSmith
Hello, I am an American currently living and gardening here in southwestern France (near Bordeaux). I have used many of your tips and techniques over the years in my former home and garden in Pennsylvania and continue to do so here at "ma petite ferme" in France. I am a subscriber of your UA-cam channel and just want to say merci beaucoup monsieur.
I use a handful of Epsom Salt in 5 gallon bucket. I pull my Boston Fern out of urn and plunge into bucket for half and hour. Also add it around clematis in March
Thank you Mr. Smith for the knowledge and skill that you have shared with us for so many years. I usually watch you on my local PBS station on Saturday mornings. As a young girl I use to follow my Dad around as he gardened. I loved riding along to the nurseries and truck farms to get soil and plants for his garden. He has been gone for many years now and I as a mature woman, thank him whenever I go into my garden for instilling this love of nature and gardening in me. No finer thing to leave behind. I think I have done the same for my granddaughter.
Love your site. I'm a new Master Gardener and love to learn about gardening. We have a new to us home here in SW Arkansas with gardens that have been neglected so I am trying to get them ready to plant, after the yard dries up. Thanks for all the great information.
I always add Epsom salt when planting tomato plants. I too adore daffodils, I planted over two thousand bulbs years ago and love the growing display in the spring. I even found some in the woods at an old home place (only the chimney was left) and dug up a few for my garden. They are yellow, very full ruffle/double without the back row of petals. I've been filling eight new raised beds this spring with mushroom compost and old leaves. Happy gardening!
It's so good to see you again. I've missed you for years! It's great to hear your expert advice. I love to share it with gardeners ( I've been working in the garden center business for 17 years now).
I've been watching your videos for a few years now I just love them you have such great tips and beautiful ideas keep it coming God bless have a great year
Hi Allen, I've been watching you forever It cause of you I've gotten into gardening I garden all years along outside and indoors. So thanks you so much for all the information you share. From gardening to decorating etc.You have really have given me some joy by making these videos and tv shows.
Getting antsy here in West Tn. waiting for a warm up. Planted daffodils Thanksgiving weekend and the stems are up but no blooms so far. I've read about using Epsom salts on roses and did not know that I can use it on so many other plants. Love your videos. They are informative and very entertaining.
Maria, I live in South Tx too and we didn't as of yet had a good winter, I am not sure we are going to be able to happily garden this year because the bugs are multiplying and ready to devour and make this year miserable for us. Hopefully, this cold snap that is suppose to come Monday March the 4th through Thursday will at least knock the lil pest down in numbers. Lol. Anyway, hopefully happy gardening.
Allen, I love your gardening, cooking, and awesome decorating ideas. Your mannerism is so calm and friendly. Thank you for sharing your knowledge. And what a beautiful farm, especially your chickens.
Oh my gosh you have changed my life ..thank you so much. I hope you read this and do you have any advice i just became a home owner and new to gardening. There is an old garden bed that has weeds all in it but I think there is good soil down there. Do you have any advice on how to revive an old garden bed?
I am a new subscriber. I love your channel! I am planning to become a full time gardener and farmer! Wish me good luck. Thank you for all you do! You're awesome!
Your gardens are amazing you have an eye for great detail and it really shows. I've been meaning to scatter some daffodils into my lawn...sigh...maybe next spring. I do have plenty of bulbs in containers the first year I just gave the critters a tasty treat.Thinking of adding some grape hyacinth in the lawn too thinking the that would work in clusters as well. This adds such interest to a boring lawn!
Thank you for using lemons and limes in your arrangement, as you said Affordable, unlike some lifestyle personalities I could name who use things like a dozen artichokes, etc. in an arrangement, when was the last time one of these people priced a single artichoke?
Great info thank you very much. I really liked the information about the onions & how to use Epsom salt in the garden & on house plants. I love your show Garden Home. Very informative with lots of tips & things for new gardeners & old.
I see that you're not afraid to dig around in your garden beds quite a bit. What are your thoughts on the practice of not disturbing the soil to keep the biology like insects, good bacteria and fungus intact and healthy - the "no-dig method"?
I always learn a lot on your site! I just watched the March 2019 tips and was excited to see your greenhouse as I just took delivery of a similar one Janssen, Junior Victorian Orangerie (13'x10') I was curious as to where you purchased shelves? I'm trying to determine how best to organize it. Thanks again!
Thanks for the the beautiful video, would you say daffodils would be considered a ground cover ? my Dad has a ditch bank that loves to grown head high weeds .Thx 🌻
Thanks for the info. I always enjoyed your show on tv. We are looking to probably buying a property that has a greenhouse on it. How do I go about cleaning it out to avoid problems before I start using it? It looks like it may have set unused for a while.
Winona Shearer I’d wash/scrub the entire greenhouse structure and glass down (top to bottom) using an bleach water solution and let thoroughly dry. If there is any exposed wood I’d apply a vegetable-based horticultural oil onto it. This is best done using a brush to ensure the oil reaches into any cracks to suffocate hiding pests. Good luck! Let me know how it turns out.
Thank you I have a long way to go to get to that place, wanted to get this done right. I've wanted a greenhouse for a long time and am very excited about possibly getting one.
Botanical Treasures www.gilberthwild.com They are always having great deals and sales when buying in bulk. (May want to wait a little closer to fall for a better selection)

The Epsom Salt Council (www.epsomsaltcouncil.org) recommends one tablespoon per nine square feet, applied to the root zone of the shrubs at two- to four-week intervals.
Brianne Rounds generally it’s considered a neutral when it comes to pH so you should be fine fine. The greatest benefit for your plants comes from the magnesium.
You said 2 tbsp Epsom salts but written it said teaspoons, during the greenhouse segment. Was the written a correction? Can't believe how many years I've been watching & gardening w/you. You're only 2 yrs younger than I am.
Tablespoons diluted in a gallon water spread around should be fine. The Epsom Salt Council (www.epsomsaltcouncil.org) recommends one tablespoon per nine square feet, applied to the root zone of the shrubs at two- to four-week intervals.

Amy Wright note to self. 😂

I used epsom salt to kill roots of scrap trees? Why wouldn't it kill plant roots?
I love your vvideos😅
