I created a 3x3 grid off to the side of my play mat with numbers 1-9. When I exile a card with Alaundo I place it on the number that equals it’s mana cost, shift everything else down by one and cast anything that was on 1. It’s much easier to keep organized and it’s a lot faster than removing a bunch of counters or turning a bunch of dice. Makes my turns WAY more tolerable for everyone else. It also allows them to easily see how everything is playing out which they enjoy a lot more than watching me play solitaire for 20 minutes.
I recently built this commander because he seemed incredibly powerful to me but it seems he's flying under the radar for most people. So much that i can't even find any gameplay of him on UA-cam. He's an absolute powerhouse and can often win the turn you're able to untap with him. Soon enough i believe big smoke himself will become a tier 1 commander. Maybe tier 2 at worst
I agree, this is a very powerful effect. With enough untap effects, this guy just ping-pongs cards into play and can overwhelm the board very easily. I think it's easily one of the most powerful commanders in this set. Thanks for watching!
I love this guy, no one ever sees him coming, i built mine like a total jerk, its all sphinxs' and extra turns with some control.....so much fun for me.
If you find a way to get infinite mana, Hyrax Tower Scout + Kogla (or Temur Sabertooth) can untap Alaundo an infinite amount of times. Also, with enough Mana dorks you can do the same with Temur or Kogla + Eternal Witness + Vitalize, Mobilize, or Benefactor's Draught. All of which are either staples or already have synergy with the deck. Great vid btw. Thinking of mixing this version with the giant creature version.
Absolutely, I missed Hyrax Tower Scout, but that's awesome. Benefactor's Draught could easily replace one of the blue untap spells. This deck goes pretty deep! Thanks for watching!
Thanks for the deck tech. I had to build this deck for a commander league I am in. I hadn't found anyone say to play Illusionist's Bracers in this deck, but it is an absolute must include.
Tolarian Kraken and Illusionist bracers have been the best combo engine ive assembled with Alaundo and any creature that taps for 2 mana your infinite. Tap Alaundo with Illusionist bracers on him for 2 triggers of his ability, Tap the dork for 2 using one to untap Alaundo with the Kraken trigger and on his second draw trigger to untap the mana dork rinse n repeat till you've won. OMFG I never thought of illusionist bracers on the untap Homies but I wasn't trying to go infinite when i made this deck
Tolarian Kraken is an excellent include, I am not sure how I missed it, lol. (I snuck it in) It's easy to accidentally go infinite in a deck like this. Thanks for watching!
If you want to combo, then what about isochron scepter? We want to play those untaps anyway, intruder alarm will be kinda broken too. Paradox engine is banned sadly.
@@bettercommander Oh right, I forget you use budget limits. This deck looks really fun and combos are 2-3 cards + commander, which should be fine for most groups. I really look forward using intruder alarm, it's so long I got a chance to use it.

Thank you! Dynaheir is really cool looking, I bought a showcase copy. It's interesting. I'm not sure if there is a critical mass of activated abilities that cost 4 or more, or at least a critical mass of good abilities that you want to copy. If you lean into the first static ability, you can do some interesting things. I'll work up a list and maybe do a video.

Well, I want to combo, but I also want to have a realistic budget. That said, Isochron exiling dramatic reversal is really, really good in this deck.

It's easier than I thought to go pseudo-infinite with Chakram Retriever, Rousing Refrain and Reality Strobe. Such a nasty combo.
