6:01 Pro tip for switching to windows: you don't actually have to restart and go to bios to do this, it can be done much more smoothly from handheld daemon. Open HHD, go to the advanced settings by pressing Y, use RB to scroll to the menu called "Gamemode" and the first option is "Reboot into Windows." Much easier than going into BIOS in my opinion.
How do you know which games to install on Windows and which ones in Bazzite? Also want to emulate many consoles. Is Bazzite mainly just for Steam and emulators? Should any specific emulator be used using Windows?
Great questions cindered! Bazzite is great for steam games and emulation, check my guide below, and Windows is best for anti cheat, game pass and third party launchers like ea play etc! @ no, once you’ve got Bazzite installed, if you’re trying to summon the keyboard to log into xcloud or XBPlay or any of the launchers, you can use the back paddle to bring up the keyboard.
It’s a completely different thing. It’s basically just a fantastic clone that people have developed due to valve not releasing it to the public, they even made it custom for each mainstream device. I suspect the project will die soon when Valve releases Steam OS, but it’s been very nice. The official release of Steam OS is likely coming sooner than expected, given that a new Legion GO S steam edition got leaked.
@@Sumire9287unlikely Bazzite is also intended to work as a desktop os if required meanwhile SteamOS is fully immutable which means a lot of power user Linux desktop behaviour our techniques isn’t going to work properly. So you’re stuck with flat packs and not much else in desktop personalisation/tuning. Which as a noob … great…but it’ll become limiting quickly.
I just ordered a Ally x and i dont want to deal with Windows. Can i just wipe Windows completly? And if i wipe it, can i restore it? (When for example i mess up with Bazzite or when i want Windows back)
Hey Z1 congrats on ordering your new Ally X! @PeteTalksTech as always great videos. Was hoping you would be able to do a video on updating emulation station as I keep getting an annoying popup saying update available but have tried myself a few times and always seem to do it wrong also maybe just a walk through on how to keep all emulation stuff up to date as your explanations are always easy to follow
Hey Pete, could you do a video on how to revert and remove bazzite from the ROG Ally X? Just in case I don't want to have Bazzite anymore and unallocate the disk it is saved.
Pete did that video I linked above. Don't forget to like and subscribe. Pete does the hard work for us when he finds something new. I would like to see where we can buy the roms and install them.
@@briansmith3134 i’ve watched that video already, putting rocs3 games on emulation station isn’t covered - it seems emulating ps3 games isn’t that straightforward

Simply some games does not run on Linux, due to lack of compability.
All games within Gamepass PC wont run on Linux either.
Put rest on bazzite.

To get the keyboard, use the back left paddle.
Do you mean for the "universal blue" part?

@KevyoKAJ thank you :)
I have a issue when I update steamos it revert somehow after a reboot…
You can force the virtual keyboard to display in desktop mode on bazzite by swiping up on the screen.
Thanks for sharing Chris and try this!

Yes it's because Windows locks the WiFi card when in hibernation - I show the fix in this very vid at 8:07 👍
