Like I mentioned, these aren't the most comfortable seats, but the best-looking seats on a Softail frame in my opinion. These are also not ideal for 2 up riding for long periods of time. Bar hoping yes, they're good enough.

I used to have the saddlemen step up with gel. It was a beautiful seat and very comfortable up to.... say 300-400 miles in a day. Once I started taking my Dyna on trips that would cover 600 to 800 miles a day that step up started tearing up my butt. I eventually had to swap for a genuine touring seat which I have successfully done a few 1,000-mile days on.
Yep, these seats look great on the m8 frame, but they’re not ideal for long touring comfort. The touring seats look great on baggers, they just don’t look the same on a Softail.
I had a lucky Dave’s rode 4000mi in two weeks 13hrs straight in one of those days and no fatigue at all.

Can vouch for whiplash speed co gamblers. Super comfy on my previous 20 LRS. I run the same seat for my 22 RGST, and it fit me way better than the Saddlemen SDC. Seats are ultra subjective though, one seat will not work for everyone.
Hundred percent!! Some folks have hip problems with some of the seats. It’s tough picking the right.

Hi, I have a 2020 softail slim. I want a step up style seat but I’m 5’ tall. What seat would you say puts the rider closest to the tank? Everything seems to set you further back. Any help would be much appreciated! Great review!
I'm a shorter rider (5'3") on a 22 Lowrider S. I've lowered it with the Kodlin lowrider kit so I can get my heels down on most roads. I would like it to get a little lower if possible. I've been told to look at a lower profile seat but I'd hate to give up any comfort as I plan to to take some longer trips. I'm looking for a good seat that may be either slimmer in the seat area or with a lower profile. Are there any good seats that you, or anyone else, could recommend?
You’ve already lowered the shock, next step would be the seat. I would change my footwear first, but the final option would be air ride. Legends air ride can be adjusted, I have a UA-cam short on the monoshock.

You could get the daddy long legs kick flip from lepera or maybe a whiplash speed company seat.
