Lovely sunny day in SF! Workwise London is similar: most people now work from home Mondays and Fridays so Thursday has become the new Friday in the financial district. Lots of people gather outside bars to have a celebratory drink for the end of the week.

I go to the post office at EC-1 regularly, usually on Fridays. The traffic (cars and people) picks up quite a bit around early afternoon. It's more crowded on Thursdays. Sorry to see the theater is closed. Used to go there all the time.
I've been working in sf since I moved back in 2010 it really emptied out after the 2nd shut down .
I walked these same streets back in 1983 while serving the Navy. Thank you for the walk around with great presentation. Keep up the good honest commetary, it gets attention.
This is a beautiful walk really enjoyed it. You are a San Francisco specialist and I have learned so much about SF from you. I also watch Action Kid mostly Florida videos as I adore the place. I worked in the FiDi more than 20 years: on Montgomery/Market/ECII etc for B of A, Schwab, Wells...middle management, decent money, lovely colleagues, great lunch spots, good times. Thanks for the tour - one love from NYC
Such a beautiful city,at least some parts still are.
The Embarcadero Center & the adjoining Hyatt are the epitome of the 1970s. They were designed by an architect from Atlanta whose trademark is cavernous hotel lobbies & things like circular brick paving stones & rows of hanging plants. The Embarcadero has recently been in the news because its retail space is really hurting & remaining shops are struggling to stay open. Covid really did a number on it, but even before then changing retail patterns have walloped lots of shopping malls & centers in general.
I haven't been to the city since before the shutdown and it looks the same but seems like it has a way different vibe to it. Thanks!

Haven't been back since the elevated freeway along the Embarcadero was torn down....so open now! The 'non-native' palms took their place. Is that Landor Design firm still useing an old ferry boat for an office nearby?? Peace out Mr. J.

I walked around SF a ton 2013-2015, I know around this time it would of been packed. I can see how the regulations get people over it. Miss the area a lot, still a great city!

How safe is the financial district. My friend and I were looking at visiting soon. We were looking at the Hilton Financial District. Or is there a better area in downtown. I know some say to avoid the Tenderloin area and the financial district is close to that, or so it seems from a map… but don’t know how safe or unsafe it may be. Please and thank you for any suggestions

We lived in the city from 08 to 2017. Great place to live then. place looks dead now. With the drugs, homeless, high taxes, expensive parking, etc. etc. etc. People have now voted with their feet. They left. I hope they don’t bring their politics with them.
You skipped the most important item in a household budget list: the skyrocketing rent and real estate prices.😂
