Ms. Cobel seemed to look at you like, "I love my kids, but can I get spayed now?" Love the end, 6 kittens at the food bowl, one kitten enjoying milk bar without being crowded!
When our Mama cat had 12 kittens, when the babies were nursing we'd give her a can of Friskies Pate mixed with that same can filled with Mountain High Yogurt. It kept meat on her bones, calcium for her and the babies and filled her up. The vet said her bloodwork was EXCELLENT!
@@boxsterman77 There were 3 big HUGE red tabbies and the rest were tiny black/grey/white tabbies a third of their size. That's when I found out cats can get pregnant after they were already pregnant. We had to pull the red tabbies off and let the little black ones feed or else the red ones would drink all the milk. A full time job, but I loved it.
@@LokiLoverForever99 She did fine. The vet said to give her equal parts of Mountain High full fat yogurt mixed with her canned food. While the kittens were feeding, mama was eating, and mama got to eat whenever she wanted to!. All worked out very well, and we made sure each of the smaller cats got their fill in their tiny tummies before the big ones got to latch on. Plenty left over for the larger ones to fill up, and the big ones were beginning kibble while the little ones were still nursing. Oh, I miss those times!
Being one of 7 kids, I totally feel for poor Mama Cat. She must be so burnt out, nursing all those adorable babies. What a good Mama. Glad the kits are slowly catching on to wet food slurry. I know they will still be Nursing for several more weeks, but they won’t be quite as desperate once they are filling up a bit on their “meat”. What a gorgeous brood.
I fed three week old kittens a few weeks ago (I didn’t realize how young they were until they started to get the shakes from their milk and meat slurry!), and one of them almost got INTO the bowl; all four paws from how much he enjoyed it 😂😂
That sweet mama looks so relieved that they've started on wet food. You can see how much she loves her babies, but she is tired. Love all the wonderful work you do dear, saving mama's and babies so they can have healthy and happy lives.
Poor mama's face lol. You can tell she's exhausted but just a little longer sweetheart and since they're already eating solids it shouldn't be too long now. If it weren't for your wonderful and educational videos hannah I don't know what we would do. Love you and everything you do for all furbabies alike.

I love this! I have 3 orphan fosters - from 3 different litters. The two boys began eating wet food at about 4 weeks old… but the wee female Louise who was a bit behind due to pneumonia we overcame didn’t want to give up the bottle until about 7 weeks… which made me worry! Finally she dove in and now eats like a little Tasmanian Devil 😈 I couldn’t have done the fostering without you Kitten Lady! You helped me get thru the every two hour (24/7) bottle feedings… and with Louise’s pneumonia. I owe their survival to YOU 🙏🏼♥️♥️♥️
OMG! If this wasn't the sweetest! The little meat mouths... The little paws in the bowl... The little sounds they make is there eating their first taste of meat... My heart is melting and running all over the floor....🥰 And Momma is such a patient, loving, and nurturing mom! 7 babies require a lot of care but she is so good at it.
Ms. Cobel! You are such a good mama 🧡 But soon, your 7 babies will be weaned and you will be able to go back to your home and friends. I am excited for that. The babies are looking so adorable 🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡 Can't wait for them to be in the socialization room when they can explore and run and play and have lots of fun 🥰😍😘 Another successful rescue, Hannah! ❤️
That's brought back memories to last year. I watched your videos religiously pre birth and after. I didn't have a clue, but they really helped me know what to expect. Thanks xx
As these little ones grow, please show us how they are progressing in size. I have seen a litter of 7 kittens where 4 boys and 1 girl were normal size for 12 weeks and 2 girls looked like they were a little bit behind in growth. One was definitely the runt, but her sister wasn't much bigger.
I have two cats from the same litter. By the time they were four months old, it was evident that the girl was going to be a tiny cat. They're four years old now, and the boy is a bit bigger than a normal sized cat, but his sister is very tiny, only 6.5 pounds. They're both totally healthy and strong. It's just like humans: we come in all shapes and sizes. I agree, though, that we should check in with a vet to be sure our littlest ones are okay.
I love your videos! You helped me save a kitten for a momma that came to me from animal control malnourished and terrified. She didnt produce much milk. Now the two who survived from a litter of five are 4 weeks and 470g. Bless you for teaching.
How did you know my current fosters turned four weeks yesterday, and I’m literally introducing them to meat today when this video was posted? I was aiming for five weeks, but they are extremely good aggressive and will attack the bottle when they eat, especially when they see one of their siblings. My right hand can’t take it anymore.
I had that same problem. We took in my little Wicket when she was four weeks old, and she would destroy her bottles, so we had to ween her onto meat early.
I work at a vet's office and it's so nice seeing a vegan who respects that cats are obligate carnivores. I've met a few vegans who's cats were having severe health problems and refused to believe it was due to inadequate diet. I really appreciate what you do and hope you continue to do this good work.
..i foster abandoned and orphaned kittens, preferably they who needs help the most, newborns.. ..i rely on your videos watching all of them no matter how 'old' the videos are, and referring your channel to others who have questions about rearing newborns(with or without mama).. ..i find your videos very informative and so much help.. ..thank you so much..😘💖
We adopted a cat, rescue from a hoarding situation. When we went to pick her up, the foster mom had two moms and two litters of cats. Well, our kitten was sneaking drinks from the "milk bar" of NOT her mother! Those cats had been weaned off of their mom, but our kitten just liked a little drink every now and again! She was FINE to go home with us, but we did laugh she did not want to give up the milk bar!
Aww, they are gonna be some real chonkers in no time at all 😍Lovely babies and mama 🥰 Bless you for caring for them, I can't imagine the effort and dedication it takes 🤗
What purrfect timing. I have a Mom and 3, 6 week old kittens that haven't been interested in food at all. I have been trying these things, and have gotten one to eat, but I had no idea if I was going about it the right way. You and your videos are a many kitty (and carer) life saver!
Oh wow! I saw my cat's mother when she was a kitten a few times and she looked EXHAUSTED. and that was only with 3 kittens! Huge respect to this mama cat!
2:00 I have a distinct memory of our family cat, Cleopatra, managing to catch a bat that unfortunately swooped too low. She tried to bring it to her kittens in the garage. I don't think they ate any. She was the one cat my dad actually remembered the name of because of that.
I suddenly discovered that a stray cat I had been feeding and thought had worms because she was thin and scraggy had FIVE kittens. They all suddenly appeared, going bop bop bop. I can't get near any of them, but I must say, she (I call her Persephone) has done an absolutely fantastic job. They are all healthy as can be and are scoffing the biscuits I put out (with water). To watch her keeping an eye on her brood (the father babysits if she's not there) and lying contentedly in the sun with them is just so lovely. The trouble is, I have to somehow catch them all as I'll be knee deep in cats!
@Malenia Oh, you're peachy. I mentioned it as the exhaustion of Persephone with five was bad enough, so seven must've been awful. You, Malenia, are a piece of work.
Seeing kittens first eating wet food always reminds me of the first time I fostered, it was a kitten this age and I never had any pets before, I obviously didn't knew how to take care of one, reflecting now, it's really a miracle it didn't end up dying

What's odd is T.C. developed "wool sucking" behaviors just after turning 1 yo. (It's not severe, but we keep a weather eye on her favorite obsession: threads.) The stray ginger kitty we adopted is pregnant! Not what we planned but here we are. She's young, I hope she has a small litter. We will keep a kitten (or two, I have to convince hubby about that). We expect kittens early August. We're already scouting for prospective homes for them. Now I have to learn about young kittens!
