Hey guys and welcome back to Mad About Skin where today I have a Face Theory review and skincare haul, sharing with you the new Face Theory makeup and some new skincare launches.
Regular subscribers will be aware of how much I love Face Theory skincare and they feature heavily in my own skincare routine so I was super excited to see they had launched new skincare products and makeup and cant wait to do a first impressions and try on for you.
I dont usually wear much make-up but this is too good an opportunity to pass on and I know mens makeup is a growing segment so I wanted to look at it from that perspective also.

Rob, your swatches were spot on!!🤓 You have to give FT some credit for adding makeup products! They did well with the inclusivity in their shade ranges. But for me, the standout product from this video is the moisturizer. Especially for those of us who use actives that can irritate the skin (you know we can push things too far!) The best thing about FT is they offer free returns for 365 days, which is important when trying to find the correct shades online.❤️

I agree with you the moisturiser is the standout and even though its not targeted to my skin type specifically my skin is loving it and any brand which is willing to give a 365 return has to be applauded... sending you lots of love xxxxx

Interested in the new toner, moisturizer and body scrub. Seems the toner/moisturizer would be great for days after using strong exfoliant or retinoids. And ibneed to smell the scrub now lol. I absolutely loved your makeup reviews! Straight forward, and honest from a non-professional using makeup which most of us are. You made me laugh with your "idk it's a pink color what do I know". Loved it!!

I am so glad you put me onto this brand! I finally got to looking at their site last night and just ordered some great stuff you recommended for the redness I deal with in my skin. Thank you for including/ recommending some stuff for those of us with redness even though it's not a concern for your skin personally. I also got the serum that has dragon's blood which just sounds so cool, gotta keep the skincare fun! haha

Bathing in oatmeal, lol. That's what we had to do as kids when we caught the chicken pox. Well not oatmeal exactly, but a warm bath with a few scoops of oats in. It really soothed the irritation - shows what a good ingredient it is!!

Hi Rob lol with the lip swatches - the number 3 looks like a mauve and is the type of colour my very pale/cool toned skin, grey eyes and blonde hair looks good with. I am tempted by it just by seeing the colour on the hand. The sensitive moisturiser might be something I would try for the Summer (very dry, rosacea and eczema prone) and the toner looks similar to the FAB oat toner I'm currently using and really like. I like a bit more drama re mascara tbh, but the foundation might be worth a try depending on shade range (I'm extremely pale and struggle finding something pale enough). I've been wearing makeup for around 35 years (I'm 49) so the blushes aren't scary to me, I use a liquid blush all the time (usually the Daniel sandler watercolour blushes) so I might try one of those. Previously all the face theory moisturisers contained vitamin c (which really isn't something my reactive skin likes), so I hadn't tried any of them. Having something for very sensitive skin is a smart move for them and should do well. Best wishes.
ps I just bought the full size of the PC calm moisturiser and calm spf 30 for daytime use, so I'm good at the moment and don't need to buy anything right now. I'll keep it in mind to try next time though. x

Ordered the Hylamide SubQ skin based on your recommendations and it just arrived this morning, I cannot wait to try it! Definitely want to try the face theory moisturiser now too, it sounds perfect for my dry sensitive skin! I've been re-watching a lot of your videos lately and I seem to remember you saying there was a serum or cream that you used on your eyes that would help with flaky skin on the eyelids which I've been experiencing through the harsh winter - however I've watched so many videos I can't remember now where you mentioned it 😂 Do you have any recommendations at all for that? Hope you're well, loving the content lately 💕

Love love love this video, also oat baths are my favourite things in the winter when my eczema on my body is at its worst. I'm wondering if the Face Theory Aventhra Moisturiser offers similar results to the First Aid Beauty moisturizing cream, I've been using it for years but recently their cruelty-free status has become super unclear.
Oh Rob, the lip balm testing was THE best thing I’ve see in days, made me laugh so much 😂 that’s exactly how I tell colors apart (pink, darker pink, gorgeous red) 🤣🤣🤣
I have the Aventhra cream coming after chatting to the customer service that the Amil c didn’t work for me. I said I’d be happy to just try another cream instead of the refund and they immediately shipped it to me, the BEST customer service out there 😊

It was such a funny video to watch 😄 I was really happy with the lip swatches! Maybe you can also swatch the blushes? I have shade 2 and really love it. And yes you have to be careful when putting it on but it blends well with a beauty blender or brush. I like the foundation as well although I’ve bought shade 1 because I’m really fair and usually have to buy the lightest color but this is SO light it was even a bit too light for me. Shade 2 and 3 are on their way. I have shade 3 from the lip color and love it but I would like to get shade 2 as well

I just received the Aventhra moisturizer (thanks for the code ^^) and OMG I love this. Feels like butter, it melts down and really hydrates and moisturizes. Instant favourite 😀

Haha Tina I have also been eyeing the fragrance but i am not sure i would be able to discribe it on camera lol as you know my descriptions are not the best lol... I will end up ordering it though as i love a good scent..

I love FT and have tried at least half their products which are fantastic and used nothing else but FT for six months. Unfortunately because I'm super oily, sensitive and acne prone i find the majority of their things don't sink into my skin but sit on top really heavily and stickily. Their serums cannot be beaten and all are must have. HG are retinol, vitamin c, azelaic acids. Clarifying cleansers are great too. Since I restricted myself to using the above mentioned only my breakouts have nearly disappeared and I will buy these again and again.

It's also a vegan lipbalm! I'm so glad you liked it! Now, I would love if you compared it to the Summer Fridays lip butter balm! For me the SF lip halm is #1 and face theory is second best, just because of it's superior consistency and longer lasting ability!

I love love my Organic Shop body scrub with sucrose 1x a week must Nothing gets rid of dry skin on elbows like this one and my skin feels so soft and nourished afterwards Skin on our bodies is tougher and can handle a bit of mechanical exfoliation

Hey Rob, have you actually ever tried an oatmeal bath? As a kid, I had really terrible eczema and my mom used to give us oatmeal baths. Aveeno make a bath product using colloid oatmeal, sort of like a bubble bath but it's in packets. I have no memory of if it helped but it definitely exists! Love the channel and congrats on 35K!

Dry sensitive and reactive skin.... this sounds like a win for me and I’m ordering the bag I find a nice cotton flannel a gentle way to remove cleanser

I think it’s cool they made a moisturizer for sensitive skin, without many actives. I’m hoping they do the same for a cleanser. I know the clarifying cleanser is a favorite but I feel like it’s too many exfoliants/actives for those who use leave on treatments. Same for all of their other cleansers.
I totally agree with you hun, i think people with reactive skin are often forgotten about in skincare so i love the fact Face Theory have launched this and i hope they will do it for some other elements like cleansers too... sending you lots of love xxxxx

I have never tried face theory but their acid mix toner is on my list to try after my liquid gold is finished. I don’t wear make up so I didn’t watch the second half x

You don't need spf when the UV index (where you live, on that particular day) is below 3. Any weather app will tell you what it is in your area. In the UK for most months in a year the index is around 0-2.
I totally agree with you hun that the fixation on spf 50+ is turning people off sunscreens. We need to protect ourselves but we need to do so in a way which takes account of the environment we are in and our skin type.. i do wear it every day but dont obsess about it like some as like you say here in the UK the UV index is much lower than many countries... sending you lots of love xxxxx

Hmm the bottle of Colloidal-C Anti Redness Toner I received that I had the reaction to did not look like your bottle that you are showing here. Mine had a silver metallish cap....yours has a black plastic looking cap. Yours had the plastic stopper to restrict how much comes out, mine was wide open. Also a product with 2% lactic acid on razor burns? Thats surprising. Did I get a different product to the one you like so much?
You can actually bathe in oatmeal lol! Aveeno has bath packets of pure colloidal oatmeal! Not sure about CF status though..

Finding it difficult to decide on a shade for FT foundation when there no descriptions or guides other than pics. What type of shade is each number? I norm wear a neutral tone light medium shade.

Hi hun, i asked about this and its due to the import taxes in India which is why a lot of companies wont ship there as it would mean the prices would be double. This is such a shame and I hope that the Indian government will amend their import charges soon.. I would be happy to film a video on stretch marks for sure i will get on and plan it... Hm.. Facetheory fan here. I'm as much a makeup enthusiast as skincare & I'm not really tempted by any of the new lines in this video, I'll probably stick the lip balm on my next order & the lippies look good but I have so. many. matte. liquid. lipsticks!!

Hey there, just to let people know, I've bought the facetheory foundation no 1 and number 2, and folks they are both incredibly pale. I mean I don't do fake tan on my face or anything like that and am pale skinned myself but damn, these two are pale. They are beautiful foundations, but they're not the easiest to apply, they do give great redness coverage and of course I warm my face up with bronzer and blush to counteract the pale ness, I've found that a strange thing about this foundation is at least on my skin, which is dry, is that it looks better the longer you have it on, if that makes sense. I'm not buying no3 as yet, because let's face it, imo they aren't exactly cheap at €17.99, so I'll have to use these two il first.

Hi hun, thats such a good question. They both hydrate the same but the new one is more calming and soothing for redness and irritation and the amil c is more brightening for people with dull skin but no sensitivity... sending you so much love xxxxxx
