The saddest thing about the Dark Angel end is that she's gotta become a living meme. People are going to treat her like a "Streamer who offed herself at one million views" joke and ignore that the girl literally had issues.
the worst part to me is that it feels like something that will inevitably happen to a streamer someday. the internet is not a healthy place to exist. humans are awful and they are even crueller when they have a screen to hide behind
Streamers and other online personalities have already sometimes had breakdowns or opened up to share they’re having troubled times, and there were assholes who made fun of them for that.
Hell, there’s people who make it their life goal to harass someone specific at any cost, it’s not even just trolling, there’s genuinely malicious people who would be ecstatic to see a big name streamed harm themself, and the fact that negativity overshadows positivity doesn’t help that either.

I was not aware this game has physical merchandise being made of it, that's super cool.
I love how eerily realistic this game is. The streamer/ vtuber concept with the whole parasocial aspect is having such an affect on the world and it's cool to see a game focus on that. Manly knows how to showcase a game right.
And devs selling merchandise of it ties back into the meta thing. Like, in a way she is real.
Switch version got a physical release last month too!

The railroad ending is a reference to The Night on the Galactic Railroad, it's a very famous children's story in Japan, that became famous after the author died. There's a very good anime adaptation and it's also the story galaxy express 999 is based off of.
It isn't reference to Galactic Railroad itself, it's reference to reference to it in Subarashiki Hibi.

I think the first new ending was a Night On The Galactic Railroad homage. Which has further implications to what K Angel's fate was, based on what it means for the characters in the movie who ride the Galactic Railroad
Dude you actually squeeze every inch of everything you play. I am serious when i say that you're the favourite of many (including myself obviously lol), not only because of how you play or how much you upload, but also because of the passion you have towards what you do. Taking the time to go trough everything, editing your videos yourself, reading every comment you can (don't answer that xd), praising and giving valuable criticism to game devs, etc. And for all of this and more I just wanted to say thank you. I hope you're doing well and having fun while doing this because I really want to consider myself one of your BIGGEST FANS if I may, and I don't know what I would do without your (almost) daily uploads.
Glad to see this game has been given a new update and it's started to become more popular lately. The references in the endings were actually really cool as usual.
The new endings in the broader context of the others are really interesting.
There's the purveying loneliness that seems to come from all of them while also asking the broader question of what happiness is. Even in the obsessive endings, it's this desperation to keep P-Chan close and with them forever.
In the endings where she finds someone else and discards P-chan or alternatively, P-chan discards her and pushes her to be with another person, she ends up used regardless of the situation because of her trust being broken.
Seeing her having a mental breakdown over the harassment which changed her-- corrupted her-- to the point of ending this suffering by any means necessary is also unfortunately a reality that happens. This game really can be too real sometimes.
And the whole concept of the Internet space being interpreted as a somewhat heaven or hell depending on experiences is completely accurate as well.

Good to see this update. These new endings don't really add a ton to the overall experience that was already there, but they're an excuse to see her again and for more people to find the game so it works for me. She has truly left her mark on the Internet.
You know this game getting merch feels kinda weird, but it wouldn't be the first or even the fifth time this has happened. Media products about the psychological breakdown of its protagonists or the consequences of immersing yourself in fantasy selling merch of said characters is unsuprisingly common.
Well, this type of theme really tends to speak to the demographic who'd normally be playing it, you know? Basically anyone who spends a lot of time online i.e. anyone at teenaged to at least 35 + those who appreciate story-based videogames in general. And buying merch is a way to show your support for this piece of art that really resonated with you. And if it's wearable merch, it might lead to other people who think and feel similarly and who also appreciated said game, so a way to form connections for someone who is most likely quite lonely. I think that's why merch is usually created for such games, and why it tends to sell when it is made.
Frankly, Ive always thought this game was very thought provoking, additionally I think many people know one of the creators wrote something about their actual research into japanese subcultures and stuff, and these extras are no less thought provoking. Ive seen a lot of things happen on the internet, to people, and just in life, in general. Ive seen lots of people come and go as well, and the events of their life playing out very differently for all of them.
Life really does go in many ways, possibility or not. Ive seen horrible outcomes, and well, people I care about, used to care about, had left my life in a variety of ways as well, some forever, and some, not. The internet is a sort of weird little thing that got made and has somehow woven its way into our lives. But honestly, what other sort of thing we can name in our lives, hadn't done the same? We also have a ton of relationships, with people and things, some healthy, and some not. Who is really to say, what is what, or what happens or could happen?
So many different things and people we encounter day in day out, across transcience, that we experience as life.
It does sure mean something, doesn't it?
Life may not honestly be perfect, not to mention what things we can run into, but, despite that, I think that being as such, is fine. I like life. And knowledge is indeed one part of it.
But life as a thing that exists, I think I am proud of what shape it exists in. Funky as it may look sometimes.
This game was actually pretty painful, I've lived long enough to see most of the endings play out.(barring the supernatural ones) Its so weird to see most of your life experience on the internet condensed like this.
This trash isn't 'thought provoking' it's just "boohoo weh weh wehh I'm a little baby who can't do anything but complain and whine about being sad" turned into a playable thing.

The be invoked ending also reminds me NGE third impact to a degree. Having everyone unit under the internet under one influence like true instrumentality (if I spelled that right). With KAngel being like I guess Rei/Lilith to be the catalyst.
That is because because the ending of Space Runaway Ideon was a direct inspiration to NGE. Ideon was even plagued with the same problems to the extent of having a crappy television ending and ending on a masterpiece movie (Ideon: Be Invoked).
Anyways, Ideon's ending (and maybe other plot points) is (are) conceptually similar to The End of Evangelion, and if you can get over it being old and the pacing issues, I recommend watching it. I

I truly love and hate how much this game made me feel things. It's just a story but it really pulls the strings of sonder. You never really think about another person's life but there they have so much going on in their own life that could go one of a million ways. Just to kind of see into the story of KAngel and how things may or may not have unfolded, brought so many feelings and thoughts of how she was going to go through with it all or how she could maintain herself all while being a purely fictional novel. The whole story just had me worried the entire time. Was there really a best ending in this game? I just feel like I sucked into a huge vortex of thoughts from this game. Super neat game and manly brings the good content :)
