Two of my favorites. I can't imagine disliking those two. Also, I like each of those better when at room temperature ... not hot out of the oven. Some people just don't appreciate cooked fruit I suppose.
Howdy from Texas. Britton must have awful apples for you guys to be acting like that. You're like Three toddlers that have just been given three bowls of broccoli with a liver mince on top.
Immediate red flags on the apple pie. Others are correct. Apples should be soft and sliced very thin. You also need to make sure to use the correct type of apple. It should *NOT* be sour. It may have been also missing some spice.. You guys need a proper Apple pie. Only then can I accept it's something you just don't like. Hilarious reaction to these, although, I think it may be due to it not quite being done right. I understand the hot fruit thing. When I was younger, I also did not like it. But, as taste buds are want to do... They change. Still glad you guys tried to brave it, but you should definitely try some over here to see if your opinion remains the same. Great series guys. Looking forward to the British pies series!
My British husband is a big fan of American pies. We live in Oregon and his favorites are apple, marrionberry, and pecan but I don't think he's ever tried a pie that he didn't like. :)
I'm in Oregon too. You have to mix the sweet apples and the sour apples it's like the wrong apples will make a bad pie .. I dono about what apples they have but clearly the didn't have enough sweet apples. A good apple pie kicks ass.. sad british bastards ate the wrong apples I reckon

Y’all’s reaction 🤣🤣 I wish I could send y’all the frozen Marie callendars apple crisp pie that’s at most grocery stores and it’s already made you just cook it in the oven. It’s really good!
I'm truly not sure if these are actual reactions or rage bait. Never have I seen such strange reactions to fruit pie before. You eat blood sausage and all types of odd animal organs but are defeated by apples and cherries? I'm baffled and can only think it wasn't made correctly since you might have used different ingredients.
I don't use granny smiths in my apple pie I use red delicious for the sweeter and cook up softer and also top it with strussel* basicly granola with baked oats and cinnamon brown sugar and all that gives it a great texture and adds to the flavor
Loved the series! Also never fully seal an item that’s meant to be crispy in a container the steam enclosed will ruin the texture and make it soggy. Always cut a hole in the top- of the container or wait until the item is not longer emitted heat. I saw a lot of condensation on your containers. Whenever I get take out that’s meant to be crispy I make them cute a corner out of the container to keep it crispy. The results are night and day. I actually learned this from my local Chinese restaurant I kept getting containers with corners cut out them and learned it was to keep it crispy and then I started doing g it with everything.
For people who think beans on toast tastes good and whose pies are made with meat to be hating on apple and cherry pie is the height of absurdity. I bet you'd think otherwise if you tried a pie made by someone who knows what the hell they're doing.
They don’t know how to make American pies the right way. That’s why they don’t like them. Plus, some of the ingredients are not available there and they use substitutes that will not work.
It doesn't matter which pies you have on thanksgiving. Depending on which region of the USA you are in, will depend on which pies you see. Pumpkin was always my favorite, and I got a whole pie to myself when I was at my great grandmother's house for thanksgiving since I was the only one in the whole family that liked pumpkin pie. There were like 5 or 6 other types of pies for everyone else. So just make whichever ones ya'll liked the most for thanksgiving.
Boys! Fella's! WTF were y'all eating? I was dying going what the actual F is that apple-y abomination? Aww hopefully y'all get to come over soon and taste some pies that resemble our pies. Can't wait to see UK pies. Y'all are hilarious.
Yeah, fruit pies are actually the main kind, since people could get fruit from their property or the wild, so making a nearly free dessert. We have tons of blackberries, huckleberries and apples, so probably 90% of the pies I've ever had were those. But it you're not really big on fruit, then fruit pies just aren't going to be a thing- sort of like people that don't like seafood aren't going to like any dish that has seafood in it, no matter how much other people like it.
I was kind of surprised to see you would try fruit pies because at least one of you said you don’t like cooked fruit or something like that. I know one of you said that they didn’t want apple pie so it came as a surprise that you would actually try it.
We usually eat Pumpkin and Apple pie on Christmas and Thanksgiving. My family prefers Crumb over Lattice apple pie. Also we like Cool whip or whipped cream over ice cream.
Pecan pie may be a common choice at a Thanksgiving table, but pumpkin pie is absolutely associated with Thanksgiving. Turkey Day without pumpkin pie would be like Christmas without Santa Claus.
Based on some of the comments plus some other British trying to cook American food videos I’ve seen, a lot of things required for American recipes are not available in the UK so therefore you’re not going to get an accurate representation of what the food is like. If you don’t have the right apples or the right seasonings or the right Cookies/biscuits or if the person making the crust doesn’t know how to make crust and they make it wrong or use the wrong crust or the wrong types of ingredients or the wrong amount of ingredients, the result will be wrong. This applies to everything, not just apple pie. I had watched a few other British people cooking American food, and they didn’t even bother to measure, which means they don’t know how to cook. I’m guessing whoever made the pies went online for the recipes. It would be a good idea to look at more than one recipe and learn about the food they are going to prepare. Mrs. H of Mr. H and Friends channel (they’re British) cooks a lot of American foods. It might be a good idea to watch some of their videos as it appears, she really takes her time to learn what she’s doing and she does a fairly good job of everything she does. When cooking, do it right. Don’t waste time and money on the ingredients if you’re not going to follow a recipe exactly as instructed.
