The fact that Jameela Jamil recovered from a plethora of health issues, including being hit by a car and was told that she'd never walk again, to now seeing her on stage is crazy inspiring. This woman truly has great characters and immense mental strength

Honestly, I find it very hart to tell what's even true about her life story, cause she changed it so often. That car-story changed a hundred times, we've had several bee attacks and she just had a severe peanut allergy that suddenly went away. I'm confused by her entirely.

Jameela is spot on. The amount of gatekeeping and shaming for entering a gym is astronomical. I can only do so much at home.
If you have access to a local Rec Center, use that. We are all there for the same reason after all.
Every time I invite someone new to gym, I tell them that the first week of gym is intimidating because of the people in shape and how self-conscious they'll feel about it. But gym is for everyone to look their best, not just the few, and in a few weeks they'll feel like a new person😊
LOVE Jameela and how she pushes back on all these ideas about beauty/weight/health in popular culture! It's infuriating how much emphasis is put on weight over health, and I love the idea of taking back exercise as a mental health benefit!

I always respected and marveled at Desi. But that she would pull off the hosting job with this precision and empathy I could never have imagined. This is amazing!
I seldom watch interviews of actors but I jumped on this one with Jameela and it took off in three directions I couldn't have anticipated !

I live in Korea, it's pretty weird how incredible fat shaming is even from doctors. I'm 180 cm (71 inches for the Americans) and 81 kilograms (178.5 lbs) so, like I'm not thin, certainly not Korean thin but, I'm hardly obese either. Yet, for an easy example, I went to see an Ear Nose and Throat specialist because my throat has been hurting for months and he tells me "you're very overweight, you need to lose weight immediately before you can hope to have your throat improve"... he then tells me I need to not eat any foreign food (it isn't uncommon for people here to think of traditional domestic food as intrinsically healthy... it is not, some is, some isn't) and make sure to run everyday. Ultimately, he gave me a 14 day prescription of antiacids and reiterated that my fat was causing my problems.

Same in Germany. I’m 1,75m and 70 kg and my doctor told me I’m obese. I was just there for a checkup.
He is correct. You are fat. Obesity starts with the 1st extra lb.

What absolute nonsense. You and Susanne are both right in the middle of the normal range for the body mass index. (You can google 'BMI calculator' to check it yourself.) Your doctor apparently thinks the problem is acid reflux, and he is not wrong that it is exacerbated by obesity. But when someone has normal weight it's important to look further to find the real cause.
I hope you can get help, because taking antacids too often or too long may adversely affect your gut bacteria, hampering digestion and and absorption of nutrients.
Desi is so authentic and warm. Love that she is not shy to show it!

I've been watching Jon, Trevor and The Daily Show for 20 years now, I basically grew up watching it. But this was the first moment when I felt: can the daily show turn into an intelligent FEMALE show please? With a female anchor and lovely female guests like Jameela?
Just getting people to take a daily walk around their neighborhood. Loads of health benefits, lowest injuries, relaxing too, but using all the muscles. Regularly walking and dancing keeps me healthy and happy, but I don't own a scale. Who cares what I weigh, as long as I fit in my favorite clothes. 🎉
I love the idea of rotating anchors cuz they all bring something unique and that combination is what makes TDS, TDS! Jameela and Desi is such an amazing pair! Love this clip

The Body Project channel is an excellent source for low impact and friendly workouts... I don't work for them, just saying they literally saved my life during Covid lockdowns... I did them in my small space, nothing necessary but you can do them with hand weights too to amp them up a bit.
