Yep discontinued bummer. But I just found one used, it is so sweet! Oh my goodness big mistake in cutting them from the lineup. it’s an animal of tone. Cheers!
What up Norm! Love GK amps.I`ve had the 400RB,and the 800RB! People tell me my sound isn`t as good as it use to be after I switched to other Various amps!
Those are old school style (well, late 90s anyways) GK amps, not the today's trendy lightweight small D class toy amps.. 2001RB is a 42.5 lbs beast with tremendous power and heft. I have one and it's my favorite amp. The only thing I'd love to AB with it is the classic 300W all tube Ampeg SVT. But I get all the tones I need from my 2001RB, be it old school or modern, or anything in between.
@@mouthmw It's a personal preference, of course, but I'd much rather tote the D class "toy amps" :) as you called them - over a head that weighs more than a cab! Back in the day, having no choice - these behemoths were cool - when you were a 20 something with muscles for days - and didn't mind lugging massive 8x10s and 50lb heads :) Now, I travel as light as possible, and get the same sonic results. But yeah - I loved GK for decades!! Went Eden for about 10 yrs - and now I'm sold on Mark Bass.
@@warrenmorphis4208 youll never get the output of this with a class D head. all the class D heads ive used sound like after a certain point they cant keep up, lose power and punch and get mushy where the RB keeps pushing.
what happened with these amps? they are all DISCONTINUED on official page. New Products soon?

Just picked up one of these used for 400 bucks! Best music investment I could make
This cracks me up every time.. "you got your input jack for tone obviously (chuckles)"

You can actually power 8 8 ohm cabinets with this head
Some say Lou Diamond Phillips has a face shaped like a guitar pick.
Please, Gallien Krueger make this again! 🥺😭
Does anyone know if the 2001RB Power Section is Analog or Digital?
It's all analog, it's class G as opposed to Class D (I have one, it's a monster)

its a -14db pad not 10
Manual says -10dB ....
its -14, it says it on the front of the amp
Can we meet in the middle and say 12?
@@bubbahotep5439 there was a revision that made some amps -10dB and others -14dB
how much do these go for?
