    I strongly feel like I have adhd but testing is a shit ton of money that I don’t have, so I got adderal from someone that was 50mg. The high dose scared me, so I broke the capsule and had around 20 mg. I didn’t feel any different at all, other than lack of appetite and painful kidneys. Do u think this is a sign of adhd or not having adhd? If I wasn’t adhd, would that have made me high? Also, should I take the full 50 next time or does that sound sketchy?

    • @ollieedward643

      Sounds very sketchy - please don’t take those meds. Go to your PCP and discuss the possibility of adhd

    I don’t know if anyone has any tips or experience with my issues. On 30 and also on 40 mg of Elvanse after 8h of sleep I barely get an effect that for 2h. Around lunch time it turns into a splitting headache and my hyperactive mind is back, the headache doesn’t wear off until the next morning only to restart the cycle. Ive read that some people with very high metabolism can work through the Elvanse “too quickly” and that this can result in a faster come down which somehow leads to a headache, much like being hung over. This might be the case for me but I really hope it’s a side effect that disappears during the titration period.

    I'm glad 50mg seems more effective for you. I've been on 30mg for the last month but about to start on 40mg for the next month (I'm starting to think I should have gone up to 50mg now). I do find 30mg quite effective but it certainly tails off around mid afternoon of the work day so by the time I get home I'm pretty unmotivated but still manage to force myself to do a few bits and pieces but with a foggy ADD brain. As I'm still in the titration process I'm still paying for my meds but I've agreed shared care with my new GP (last GP refused and questioned the validity of my private diagnosis so I sacked them off) so once I'm settled on it then NHS will cover the costs. I currently buy the meds at the Morrison's pharmacy and just paid £72 for 28 days worth of 40mg. I think they come in the cheapest. Apparently ASDA pharmacies do them cheap too. Good luck with the titration process and thanks for making this content.

So far so good but feel that I could do with going higher to get a properly therapeutic dose. 40mg works well so far with barely any side effects will have to see how effective it still is by the end of the month. Interested to know if anyone has experienced an increase in HR? My resting HR pre-meds was sitting around 60-70 and it's now fluctuating between high 90's-110. If I go for a walk or make any kind of movement that isnt 'exercise' my HR is sitting around 117-120. I'm quite nervous to head back to the gym but it's such a huge part of my lifestyle so can't be something I remove completely.

I got a 20mg dosage and I feel like it’s just not strong enough, is this because of how small the dosage is and I need a higher dosage like 40 mg, or is vyvanse not for me?

    • @Samuel-er6td
      @Samuel-er6td 3 роки тому +1

      While Dexedrine is an amphetamine, it's not the generic version of Vyvanse.
      First Vyvance is only sold name brand.
      Vyvance is a Lisdex molecule attached to amphetamine. Lisdexamphetamine
      Dexedrine is Dextroamphetamine.
      Dexedrine works similar, as yes it is an amphetamine rather than a methylphenidate stimulant, but the whole absorption process is much different. Even the Extended release doesn't feel the same.
      Dexedrine is a strong version of adderall,
      Adderall is Dextroamphetamine and Levoamphetamine,
      Dexedrine only has the Dextroamphetamine which is the stronger part of adderall.

    Thanks so much for taking the time to educate people like me. The peer perspective is a necessary complement to expert advice. I just started 30mg and was looking for first hand experiences when I found this gem. I really appreciate your video.

      Thanks so much. I completely agree with your take on peer perspective! I have found ‘real world’ experience (in combination with the advice of my Dr and Consultant Psychologist) to be invaluable! I think it’s easier to relate to someone who is having the same issues as you, which professionals often can’t..

      @@ollieedward643 thank you for taking the time to read and reply to my comment, I’m flattered. After ten years of snap diagnosis, lots of antidepressants, and dead end treatments. Everything finally makes sense. I’m new to this thing, so I’m going through your archives to see what’s ahead and it fills me with hope, it’s amazing, you’re basically a psychological clone of me. Thank you again.

    Why are you not getting your medication via the NHS with the set prescription charge?

    • @ollieedward643
      @ollieedward643  3 роки тому

      Because I’m not yet on a ‘shared care’ agreement with my GP, Glenn. I hopefully will be soon.

      I am also from N.Ireland and got shared care straight away from private, really should be same for whole UK. It would be worth the money for me if I had to pay even.

    Thanks again for content Ollie. I started my journey on 30 mg on Elvanse today. For a 28 day's of 30 mg I paid £69.00. From a Tesco Pharmacy. I read somewhere Supermarket pharmacies tend to be a bit less expensive. Just thought I would share, every penny counts for me.

      Please keep me posted on how your titration period goes! And if at any point you have any questions, I’d be more than happy to attempt to answer them! Yeah I remember hearing the same thing with regards to supermarkets, I’m not sure exactly how much more you would pay from a gp pharmacy for instance but, like you say, every penny counts
