Me and my family are at Disney grand California hotel and when I needed the vehicle for some items it was dead so they rapid charged it. I literally UA-cam’s how to change this battery and found your video. Life saver! Followed it step by step and problem solved! Thank you
Thanks for the video...it really helped me when I had to change the battery out of my 2018 Chevy Traverse...what a pain in the butt it was to change!!!
Very concise but thorough explanation. While I found myself playing back sections frequently to get the nuance of the step - I thought this good as it drilled down on the facts not fluff that can make a video too long. This is like a good mechanics book, you re-read a few times but at 3 minutes - that’s fine with me.
Can you show us which size tools you’re using for each nut/bolt in future videos? This was super easy to follow for a woman trying to maintenance on her own. Thanks!
I followed your video, but I would like to see how the screws on the negative cable go. When trying to put it back on, I wasn't able to get it on properly.
Thanks for the video. I have 2017 gmc acadia denali. I followed it step by step with no issues. When I cranked the vehicle there were multiple warning lights on the dash ABS, brake, stablelink, tpms..all of those appear to be working fine, the car is driving fine. I drove the vehicle for 20 miles, but the warning lights are still there. Unhooked everything and then reconnected which still did not clear the warning lights. Auto zone checked it for codes, but everything came back ok! Also on the dash is the message "steering assist reduced". None of this was present before the battery went bad. Any ideas on what it might be? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
@@pamcm1098There is more than likely an PCM fault for coolant temp below regulating temp. This fault disables the cluster temp gauge. Additionally, once this PCM fault is set, it will trigger faults in other modules. All this is caused by a thermostat sticking open.
@@D2O2 Funny that you should reply today. My wife got the check engine light two days ago, and I plugged in my new code reader. P0128 and low coolant temp. I don't think I'm going to worry about it at this point. I just erased the code with the device. In the past I was pulling the 53 fuse and putting it back in to reset.
Has anyone had problems after installing? The manual says to contact dealer. Not sure if a reprogram is needed since I went with a AGM battery from Walmart. Same size and specs just not a GM battery or Duralast etc
@@tommytarver3060 yea I think my alternator is bad as well. Wife driving after and car shut off while but restarted and then a bit later started making grinding noises so seems to be alternator related
Two comments: 1) To clear the way for lifting the battery I tied a cord around the fuse tray and pulled it away by tying it to the windshield wiper arm. 2) To facilitate lifting the battery, which is HEAVY, I put a couple of straps under the battery and used these to lift up and pull towards me. This made it much easier to get the battery out.
Appreciate the simple direct steps !
Just move camera back a little bit for better viewing ...
Great explaining ...
TY !!
Great video. Got the job done for my 2018 Acadia. Thank you
Nice video. They definitely added a couple of steps to removing a battery.
Thanks. Newest car I’ve owned by 12 years. Never had so much trouble tryna change a damn battery. Thanks for the help
Best video. Out of state trip in the middle of nowhere. Was able to do it on our own!

O I understand lol
It's like GM thinks the battery's going to try to escape.

Sweet…. Thanks mate
Are all GMC's roughly the same process? My GMC Acadia is a 2019.
Always take pictures If you cant remember small things like washers.
Just curious, what year Acadia is this?
You didn’t even show when you take the negative it’s difficult to take off because the type of connection that’s the only thing I needed help with 😅
I tried to disconnect the wire clip attached to the negative battery, with the red tab. And it appears I broke it. Is it easy to replace?
I followed your video, but I would like to see how the screws on the negative cable go. When trying to put it back on, I wasn't able to get it on properly.
Did you ever figure it out? I am having the same issue now!

I get that steering assist message, along with the occasional failure of the temp gauge and no air conditioning. It's electrical gremlins.

Just bought a battery, going to the garage doing it myself, keeping my finger cross.
Good luck

Sometimes stuff needs to be reset like the tire light. If you have no lights on don't worry about it you should be ok.

I appreciate the video but you shouldnt skip your video forward after you give guidance. Now I don't know where these washers go 😂😂😂
Should’ve made it easier!
This is a great UA-cam but, why didn't you turn your camera/phone horizontally in stead of vertically. I am sorry but, I hate when people do that!
You didn't even show how to get the negative cable.off.
