    I read your Crushing the Microstakes in December of last year and shortly afterward, for the first time, made it to the final table in a microstakes tournament (I had been playing for six months without anywhere near those results). Since then, I've made it to the final table 9 times and my ITM% went from around 15% to 45%. Put simply, no other advice I've read or seen from anyone has been as useful in learning the game.

    I started following your advice for playing LAG in tournaments, I always used to be super tight, and thank you so much, it improved my game a ton!
    I got in the top 5% of the tournament very quickly and could hold it for very long but then I did some stupid mistakes because I’m a new player in general.
    But, with a bit more practice I’m sure I can dominate more tournaments in the future with your adviced LAG strategy.
    You‘re the only poker UA-camr who actually is a real help, thanks for your videos!

I have more confidence in my game play thanks to you. When ever I try a new move I am so pleasantly surprised when it works! I havwe been calling more riv bets that have turned out to be bluffs, or just small pairs from my opponents so many times.

    If you raised in the cutoff with one of these hand types and a typical TAG reraised you on the button do you call?

    • @mikehickmanvloggamessingin3604
      @mikehickmanvloggamessingin3604 Рік тому

      Usually no, but depends on if can legitly think they may be 3 betting you light or not.
      Also the semi rare light 4 bet is sometimes good to do.
      So about 33% of time you want to fold, and about 33% of time you want to call, and about 33% of time you want to light 4:bet, if you legitly think that they might be light 3 betting you.
      It really depends on the situation.
      If you don't know, or are unsure, it's usually best to you fold, as a TAG if they reraise 3 bet you, they are usually not 3:betting light, altho they can still 3 bet light occasionally.
      If your 3 bet by a LAG, then you should be calling, light 4 betting more, unless your out of position.
      It really depends on the situation.

    hands like A9 suited, KJ suited and QJ suited can be very good hands to light to mid 3 bet with, even tho the above hands aren't good hands.
    The reason why it's good to 3 bet them, is it mixed up your game, and all the reasons Nathan mentioned.
    But also a lot a Fish, DONKS, regs, recreational players, even amateurs, wrongly think that hands like A9 suited, KJ suited, and QJ suited are supposedly MONSTER PREMIUM HANDS.
    If you 3 bet those hands and semi rarely, occasionally get caught doing so, then the above fish, DONKS, regs, etc, can think that your not 3 betting light like your doing, and wrongly, and good for you think that you supposedly only raise, 3 bet monster and premium hands.
    You can exploit that thinking to your advantage.
    So I let them think that, and want them to continue thinking that.
    Also you get dealt hands like A9, KJ, QJ more often, can 3 bet more often then you would, could if you only 3 bet JJ, QQ,KK, AA, AK suited.
    So that means you can 3 bet steal more and still have players think that you are tighter then you really are.
    Which can be good for you.

      Zero percent of the time, unless you have really nice pot odds. Light 3 betting is akin to bluffing, and when your bluff gets shoved all in you fold and move on

    • @rwfoxtrot
      @rwfoxtrot Рік тому

      @@zacharymassat1515And I’d think that the occasional fold to a 4-bet jam helps you to get people to do so when you do 3-bet a monster like AA or KK since you’ve demonstrated to them that you are capable of bluffing when you 3 bet light.

      @@MrDavePed The others you mentioned are fine. A5s and A4s have a speciality to them because they can make a lot of straights. These two hands are probably the best hands to bluff with out of all of them. They pair nicely along with your AA and KK

    • @augustgreig9420
      @augustgreig9420 Рік тому +1

      This is very wrong. As others said, A2-A5s and A10s+ are all fine to open, raise and flat heads up. And 56s is one of those magic hands that plays great against a 3bet call because your opponent is less likely to block your pairs and straights.

      It Depends on Situation.
      Out of position you should be folding weak aces about 97% of the time.
      In position on button, cut off and even the Hi Jack position on rare times, you should be OPEN raising, OR SQUEEZE raising or limp behind monster hand mine and even occasionally folding to MIX UP YOUR GAME, and in order to occasionally steal or resteal from your opponents.
      It's not right to either say NEVER play them or Always play them.
      It really depends on the situation.
      Nathan does a good job of describing when, if it's ok to play them.
      Poker books, Videos, coaching, Poker Vlogs, Poker Podcast, etc, as long as by CREDIBLE sources, can also be helpful

    Me again. Walked away from Video Poker for a little while because of how ludicrous it was. Came back to play to see if it changed.
    NOPE
    During my 24 hour period I lost 4 hands on the River with a minimum 80% equity. 2 loses were to gut shot draws. Then lost with pocket aces followed by losing with Kings.
    All within 24 hours.
    Heavily favored when the money went in, only to lose each time.
    An occasional bad beat is expected. 6 IN 24 HOURS IS TOTALLY UNREALISTIC!

The computer doesn’t have rent to pay….. the computer wasn’t forced to fold the king queen suited in 4 spots in a row…… the computer doesn’t have feelings……. Basically over a large sample size the computer can put out the “optimal” plays and decisions in theory…… but we all know what theory means right??
