😂🤣 Monty and Wally!!! Courtney’s cherub is so delightful. And yes, she definitely has good taste - poppies are beautiful (especially the ones you have put the back!).
Love the progress your doing and amazed how much u have done, the artichoke will get huge over time and will shadow your other plants. Love Monty a dog is a dog!
Wow!!! That was alot of plants!!! How exciting! And you’re trying out two of my favorites…heliopsis and the Wild Rose Heuchera. That heuchera is stunning 😍. Brings so much color without relying on blooms.
In my mind I thought I never liked lavender, (the nurses diffused lavender when I was in labor with my first son and I hated the smell) and last spring my husband bought me a big container of lavender and I fell in love! It smelled amazing when the sun hit it and the bees were constantly all over! Wish I could grow some here that’s a perennial but I think most are zone 5 and higher.
Oh dear! "Little" pee puppies, LOL! That is why I prefer female doggies. That is quite the haul of perennials for sure! How exciting! I cannot wait to see them fill out and bloom. You continue to inspire me to "get in my garden!" 🥰💐🐕
I lo e tge excitement you exude when your in your garden. It is hard work and not for the weak.My husband and I put out 20 2cu ft of mulch and I was done for. I said no more. Kerp up tge hard work Janey. We enjoy watching your garden process abd always enjiy your sweet kind husband helping. It is such a joy seeing you two wirking together. You can tell he loves you and making you happy.
You are quickly becoming my FAVORITE garden channel. Don’t worry about your camera too much. You’ve got knowledge, personality and style that is fabulous ❤❤
Janey you have trellises on your pallets. Just remove from pallets and stain them black. You can put in front and back of your propane and plant a climbing rose, jasmine, wisteria, or clematis.
I watch you and Laura I just started watching you last summer but I’ve been watching Laura for years. I go out to her mom and dad‘s nursery every year even though she’s in Oregon it’s only 35 miles from where I live in nampa Idaho their whole family are the nicest people. I love your personality and just love your husband he’s a real gem. Cute kids too. Keep up the good work a few years it’s gonna be just gorgeous.
I've never heard of a cardoon.....and to see those tiny little seedling and imagine them "spilling over the edge of the walkway" is beyond my current comprehension. I look forward to seeing the garden in August, because I do believe it's going to be shockingly beautiful and spellbinding. I CANNOT believe what you've accomplished in eight short months!
I love the flowers. I cannot wait until you finish your front - I am so curious to see what the center of your front yard turns into. Thanks for going into detail on the flowers you received.
We have a lot of spiderwort. While it does spread we e never found it to be aggressive. Easy for us to control. Perhaps it’s the variety or location. We grow the native Ohio spiderwort.
She can train her dog to stay off the flowers and specific garden beds. I've trained all of my dogs to stay off of the flowerbeds and to go potty in the corner of the yard. They can be running around playing with each other and if one of them has to "go"; they stop playing and head to the corner to "go". After finishing their business, they will run out of the corner and continue playing. (The only draw back to this training is; when a rabbit is in the yard and runs into the flowerbeds... It knows it is safe. The dogs just run back and forth or around the perimeter of the island beds). 😉
Yes, you can train your dog or have them go to obedience training. Jenny at “Gardening with Creekside” bought a German Shepherd puppy a couple of years ago and Brynna knows to stay out of the flower beds. She had her go to obedience school, because they also have The Nursery and they have lots of customers around her and she listens very well! ❤
Whenever I had garden damage, it was usually from my female dog. And that’s what I was told the male dogs they don’t cause the damage from going to the bathroom.
Oh my goodness, when I was getting my Russian Sage flowerbeds ready for spring, in April, I broke out in a terrible rash. I wore gloves when cutting the plants back but took the gloves off when i cleaned up the cuttings. My hands began to turn red, they itched and blistered up. I thought the cold weather was causing the problem. Janey just made me aware that i was actually having an alergic reaction.
Love you! Spiderwart! I inherited it from my father in law and in Connecticut it takes over! It does attract bees so I let it go. It volunteers from front to back so be ready!
Janey, I feel as though I am watching an artist creating your masterpiece. I look forward to every video to see your progress as well as to hear the explanation of your visions. I imagine your neighbors are loving the process too
This turned out to be one of my favorite videos. So much real life! It was fun. You may need to plant a patch of lawn with a few shrubs just for Monty. It could be tucked away somewhere but it might help keep him out of your garden beds when he needs a potty stop.
Gurl! You are cookin' with gas!!!! Can't imagine what this will all look like in 5 years!! You are a get it done gal and so fun to watch your energy! I still garden as best I can but so fun to watch you roll!
Don't worry about the audio - you'll figure it out 👍 You thought this was a chaotic video - I actually loved it. I can't stop laughing at Wally taking his sweet ol' time in relieving himself on your plants. The plants from Walter's Gardens look awesome. The orchard walkway is my favorite place in your garden. 🥀🌻
Coming in after doing what I could out in my garden to your video of gorgeous flowers to be planted is just so much fun! I have been learning so much from you over time and it is showing in my garden this year! I found several PW at Lowes last year in the discount rack. And they are stars in my garden this spring already! My lavender just blows me away every time I step out side on front porch! It is full of beautiful blooms that almost seem to have wings! Spanish Lavender! That's it! Thanks so much for sharing with us!
Am I the only one that has a notes folder on your phone titled plants. Love these videos .. adding new plants to look for at my garden centre. I am currently recovering from knee replacement...can't wait to get to garden centre's.
Your garden is so beautiful and you are amazing for doing so much in such a short time. I prefer your garden the way you design it rather than the way Landscape professionals suggest. I think the only thing that needs to be done is the driveway. If you could get the cracks fixed and maybe driveway blacktop done, your landscape is gorgeous. Personally, I prefer what you do which is focus on plants, flowers, trees, evergreens. Congrats and thakn you for sharing your videos.
Janey, Garden crossings online plant shop sells the Totally stoked Riptide Stokesia aster plant; Heidi also showcased this plant 7 months ago on her youtube channel as part of her late blooming summmer plants which I recommend everyone watch for inspiration. 😊
Great real life video with the dogs and the bees…love it! Everything is looking so good in your garden. I have a lot of shade in my garden and I don’t know why I haven’t thought about heuchera. I love all the ones you got… time for a trip to the nursery!
I just got my order from your store! It was so precious! You included a little hand written thank you note, and some stickers for my water bottle! You are so thoughtful!! Love your channel too!!!!
Yes! There are pink kniphofias :-). I never liked the orange (red-yellow pokers) but I love the pink…and it looks like there are several shades of pink. Can’t wait to see them in your garden. Love your poppies too!
My lavender has been around way over four years. With my newer ones I’ve been trimming it hard in late winter, as far down as I see green growth. I even did that with some older plants I was ready to pull and surprisingly it pushed new growth! It gave me a little more time before I have to replace them.
Hi Janey, love your videos! A while back you had a poll question on your community page asking what should be planted in the space outside your front gate between your front fence and the road… I think that Kaleidoscope Hardy Ice Plant would be amazing in that space! Especially since it’s a xeriscape plant… it’s so colorful and won’t require a ton of water once established! My parents live in San Diego and I’ve seen entire hillsides planted with purple flowering ice plant… the purple color is stunning!
Good morning Janey, Wow those are awesome plants, can't wait to see you planting them and seening there blooms in the Summer. You might want to wash down where the dog did he's business. I bought some squirrel repellent for my front yard my neighbor's dog would come over and do his business around the trees, he didn't like the smell of it. Thank you for sharing your beautiful plants. Have a great rest of the day. 🙂 👋
What i loved about this video is that you did the research on the plants you received and were able to give detailed information about each one (and posted the tag info on the screen). So not just the specs but actually what makes it interesting and how you plan to use it in your garden.
Yes, Lavender can be woody, but I have two English lavenders in a pots and have had them for almost 8 years. I cut it back to about three inches every late winter, like February and it comes back just beautiful each year. Same for in the ground cutting it back will keep it from getting woody and it will last much longer. I am sure you could research it and understand what I am talking about. Loving all the planting in your orchard garden and the walk way. Looking so beautiful.
Those pretty plants must have been cheering when the delivery truck turned onto Janey’s driveway. Such an amazing collection, very excited for you Janey! 🌺🇨🇦
Sweetie please use a kneeling pad when planting!!!! I didn’t and I REALLY regret it now in my late 40’s. The garden is looking so beautiful already. You definitely have an eye for garden design with the textures and colors you place . I’m so looking forward to see it in late June when the landscape will be bursting with color! Have a great day.
I prune my lavender twice a year. I prune it with long stems just when it's in bud because I dry it for sachets and bundles. It reblooms (not quite as full). Then I prune it hard in late winter, down to within a few inches of the ground. A properly pruned plant should live a long time-- up to 20 years.
I cannot figure out if it is your voice being more 'crisp' or if it is a deference in the "volume" to hear you on the go pro? But a definite difference. ❤ You have some gorgeous plants to get into the ground. Happy planting.
I thought when you were going to do a flower field I was thinking of scattering seeds haha! That would be such a fun experiment and a good way to fill space before permeate plans go in.
Hi Janey, yes there is a zone 8a/8b in the High Desert CA. Sunset Western Zone 11. Your place is coming along beautifully. Watch you every day. Right now I have insomnia so I'm watching you at 330 am. Not my usual time. Usually around 8 with my morning coffee. Have a great day!
Careful!!! Spiderwort will take over your entire property! I am not kidding! It is beautiful but impossible to get rid of. The roots are impossible to remove, they go very deep! Someone gave me a tiny clump once, now it has spread everywhere on my 2 acres! Just wanted to warn you. I live in Georgia, maybe it’s different here? Love, love , love your videos! The property looks great!
I love when they release new cultivars of native things you see blooming roadside like spiderwort. In central FL I’ve seen huge swaths of beautiful purple spiderwort blooming in the winter so I’m definitely getting some of those new Webmasters next year.
So many beautiful plants!!! Love your videos, chaos on our viewing side for sure! I'm afraid you will regret not training your sweet fur baby to stay out of the beds.
Flagstaff is the snowy city. Interesting, many of the plants you showed today grow well in my northern Zone 3 garden as well. I love shade plants but moved into a new to me home and there’s virtually no shade. I wonder sometimes why I like watching your channel so much as our conditions are so very different but I don’t miss you ever. Your garden is so exciting to watch grow and form. Our dogs always peed on our carrots, made m crazy!
Everything is looking great!! Btw… Fine Gardening and other resources have maps of the Southwest… the high desert of New Mexico is in the arid Southwest, and a lot is zone 7… northern Arizona has many zone 8 areas…
Your property is going to be so amazing, you have done a magnificent job so far and i can’t wait for alll of the future videos! You have the patience of a saint. I adore Monty but it is sad what happens to anything agree when they pee on it. Ask me how I know 🤪😜
Love watching your show The town in Arizona, where it snows is Flagstaff. It’s actually in the mountains. Warning, I am easily distracted by Plants. Lol. I have a Russian sage, blue jean baby but it struggles here in Florida. Too much moisture? I also have a more native variety of Stokes Astor that I transplanted it from a friends garden near Pawleys Island South Carolina. It has thrived and Grown very well for years in my zone 9B central Florida Garden. “red hot poker” and Catmint doesn’t seem to grow well in my garden
Loved this video. Reminds me of me when gardening :D But confused as to your statement off Lavender not being a perennial, just prune it back in the spring each year and that woodiness does not happen. All of a sudden Lavender feels like a waste to plant if it is not a perennial. Every plant can be a perennial I think, just needs the right care and love ;).
Regarding your Sweet Romance Lavender, you talked about it getting woody and being short lived. Laura from Garden Answer has a video where she talks about hers which she has in a long border down the side of her raised bed garden. She cuts hers back every year almost down to the ground. It grows back every spring and she has no woodiness. Check out her video.
😂🤣 Monty and Wally!!!
Courtney’s cherub is so delightful. And yes, she definitely has good taste - poppies are beautiful (especially the ones you have put the back!).
Hmmm....I'd say you are definitely a PGP....Professional Garden Person!!!! 😊
Very sweet ending to your video! All those PW plants are amazing so excited to see where you plant them .

Janey has reached favorite status for me❤ enjoying watching her succeed!
Janey you have trellises on your pallets. Just remove from pallets and stain them black. You can put in front and back of your propane and plant a climbing rose, jasmine, wisteria, or clematis.
Pallets are much too large for clematis and other vining plants to climb
Great idea!
Great idea! She can also hang plants from the slats ❤
I watch you and Laura I just started watching you last summer but I’ve been watching Laura for years. For me it's the cats spraying on my flowers n stuff..
Can't wait to see everything planted up and in full bloom.
Hey, a bit of chaos is great! Great, fun video…your excitement is so infectious!👏🇨🇦👏

Heads up on the Spiderwort...it spreads like crazy! At least it did in my Michigan garden. Hopefully it will behave in your CA garden!
Here in the south, too. I’ve had some in a pot for years but it somehow jumps out & plants itself wherever you don’t want it. Lol
We have a lot of spiderwort. While it does spread we e never found it to be aggressive. Easy for us to control. Perhaps it’s the variety or location. We grow the native Ohio spiderwort.
I think it may pay you to get a dog trainer to train monty. It is possible to establish a toilet in the garden where he can be trained to go
She can train her dog to stay off the flowers and specific garden beds. I've trained all of my dogs to stay off of the flowerbeds and to go potty in the corner of the yard. Oh my gosh Janey you have come soooo far !! The orchard area is really shaping up among other areas !!
No need to apologize, Janey! This video made me smile! It's real life, unscripted!!
I think I need to move somewhere warmer so I can grow more of these plants!!
I had to stop the video for just a moment and tell you, your property is looking so pretty. It’s amazing how much you’ve done. ❤
The more real life chaos, the better! Loving your videos! ❤
Love you! Spiderwart! I inherited it from my father in law and in Connecticut it takes over! It does attract bees so I let it go. It volunteers from front to back so be ready!

Janey everything looks amazing! Such incredible progress since you moved in 🎉❤love the videos. Send us sunshine ☀️🌺💛🇨🇦
Bring on ALLLLLLL the planting videos!!
Glad to see a few natives. Love to see more. Looking forward to see where all the plants go.
This video was a hoot! ❤️😂

I can't wait to see your May garden walk ❤
I love all the purple hues you’ve got going on. I’ve really been drawn to the purple and blue hues this season. 💜
Ooh, Janey, what about lavender lining your driveway that goes to the back of the garage. That would be so “country romantic”
Coming in after doing what I could out in my garden to your video of gorgeous flowers to be planted is just so much fun! That is the first time I saw that pink 2025 yarrow. Looks pretty!
Your excitement for these plants is contagious! I have been planting my seedlings like mad before the rain comes
We trained our dog to do her business in only one specific area of our acreage and nowhere else. It works.
Yes! There are pink kniphofias :-). I never liked the orange (red-yellow pokers) but I love the pink…and it looks like there are several shades of pink. Can’t wait to see them in your garden. Love your poppies too!

Good morning Janey,
Wow those are awesome plants, can't wait to see you planting them and seening there blooms in the Summer.
Love how you snuck a mini tour into the video! The colors this time of year are irresistible!

I love the patience and love you have for Monty. He can do no wrong in our eyes! 😘 ❤
Fun video was not too chaotic I like the variety, your place is getting so colorful, can’t wait to see once all those get planted up 😊
I love the real life gardening, dog pee and all 😂
I planted cardoons last year for the first time. Mine got three feet across in one season! Beautiful giant thistle-like flowers! zone 6b
Love you enthusiasm!!!!♥️🌷💞
Thank you Janey, I’m making my list for next year! You must be so excited to get all of this, I can’t wait to see you add them to your landscape
Beautiful. Your videos are so inspiring. PLEASE 🙏🏼 talk to your friends from Proven Winners to develop more plants for zone 10-11 😉
LOL. Those boys and their hiked legs! 😂 it is what it is!
Evening Everyone 🥰🥰

Heliopsis will be outstanding! Can’t wait to see the updates!
These is so exciting! So many perennials to be added in your beautiful garden.
I thought when you were going to do a flower field I was thinking of scattering seeds haha! That would be such a fun experiment and a good way to fill space before permeate plans go in.
I planted honeysuckle today ❣️🌸🌿🤗‼️✔️💕
Omg loving the poppies❤ your plant delivery is awesome! Happy planting.
& to California poppies - yay!
❤beautiful

Wow! Can't wait to get my hands on some of those 2025 PW plants. Fun video! 😻M
Haha, the pups are so adorable! I have 2 big dogs and they always run through my plants!!😅 lol, all the anxiety!
Everything is looking great!! Btw… Fine Gardening and other resources have maps of the Southwest… the high desert of New Mexico is in the arid Southwest, and a lot is zone 7… northern Arizona has many zone 8 areas…
Really fun video. thank you!
Maybe you could plant some of those spider wort by the roadside
Your property is going to be so amazing, you have done a magnificent job so far and i can’t wait for alll of the future videos! You have the patience of a saint. I adore Monty but it is sad what happens to anything agree when they pee on it. Ask me how I know 🤪😜
Maybe order Monty a couple of dog fire hydrants to place around the property. That way he knows where to go.
Love watching your show The town in Arizona, where it snows is Flagstaff. It’s actually in the mountains.

Hi Janey! Just a quick notice the chick coop is looking good!Man that's going to be a good one!
Loved this video!!
Also the gopro creator combo works amazing and the audio is very good from the mic comes with the set! 😊
What beautiful plants!

It grows back every spring and she has no woodiness. Check out her video.
My friend Kevin Vaughan here in Salem hybridizes kniphofia and he has all different colors including pink!
The ranunculas! You didn’t mention them, but wow!
