Cats: WE ARE OMNIPRESENT. We’re taking over the world. Hop in, hooman!
13:41 "Judge me all you want but I love this bookish life of mine"
im a dog person, but that cat following you was super cute and so were those books with cats on the cover. yes, it IS a sign😂👌🏼
I relate alot. Daylight savings hits. I am currently trying to Get back to reading but college is taking alot of me lol.
I can realtor to this a lot, haven't had a chance to read for over a year now. Hope time flies and you'll get more time soon
Same here. School is very time consuming.
I just finished reading Six of Crows for the first time and I was blown away! The writing style is incredible and I love all the characters and the plot so much! I can't wait to dive into the second one!
I just finished the second one yesterday and it was EPIC... Definately my favorite👍
THERE IT IS! The end-of-video blooper that I love! 🥰
This is so my day tomorrow taking a self love day and reading and buying books 😂❤️
I struggle with constant depression :') I hope this season doesn't get you down I know how you feel
Get better soon. 🙏
Your book shopping trip is so refreshing to me. I love that you don't just talk the entire time inside of the buildings, but waited until you were home.
I also feel so calm inside of bookstores. I think it has to do with a toxic parental upbringing, as I always found solace and escapism with books. Throw in the stability found in bookcases, and I feel grounded and safe.
Too much? Well, needless to say, I struggle this time of the year too. The adjustment of daylight does me in. So know that you are absolutely not alone! I'd go to a bookstore right now if I could, for the same reasons too! Your video may be a few weeks old, but it's exactly what I needed. So thank you!
I love the cat in the bookstore. The universe is trying to tell you something, that you should get a cat. When you say just a few books but then, oh, you can come you've jumped in my basket, oh, this ones cheap! And you I've been looking for you forever. I like to say I have good self control.
Yes! Get a cat! They are the ultimate snuggle companions while reading. :) And I loved the Alex Mack books as a kid!
Two bookish videos in one day!?!?!? My day is complete. U and Hailey came through ❤ love book shopping videos😍😍😍
Half Reaper/Half Shinigami.....🤔🤔🤔so isn't she full reaper then? Just in two different languages...
yeah that's like chai tea. lol
@@lightlawliet3526 Exactly like 'chai/cha tea'😂😂😂
C.S. Lewis is my favorite writer. That Hideous Strength is the final of his Space Trilogy (Out of the Silent Planet and Perelandra being the first two). It is not my go to Lewis book, but certainly worth the read.
I am currently reading the second book in the Throne of Glass series. I'm loving it so far and was inspired to pick it up because of you, Jesse, :)
I re-read Throne of Glass recently and omg it got emotional. I actually think I enjoyed it more on a second read. Hope you enjoy the series!
You should get a cat! Mine seems to know when I’m kinda down and he comes to see me. I appreciate all the Tolkien in that bookstore and I’m trying to finish War Storm!
I vote for you getting a cat-if you are up for the commitment. I had dogs all my life, but I got a cat when my dog passed 4 years ago. I have two now and I am amazed that I became a cat person so quickly. 💜
Hugs for ya, hang in there buddy, you got this! I believe in you!
BIG HERO SIX!! underrated movie cuz it’s AMAZING
100% AGREED!!! 😍
It's always good to have a dedicated reusable book bag to bring with you for those places that don't supply bags.
This video came out a bit ago but if your still in the mood for fairytale like reads I would highly recommend the wind in the willows, it’s comfy and sweet and fuzzy and I love it
Yeah, B&N has stopped providing bags. I had so many when I went last month, they found me a box. Now I know to take my own bag from now on.
If there's one thing the past 18 months has taught me it's the importance of priotising mental health and self-care. Even more so now, with life going back to somewhat-normal, or a new normalcy of the world, it's so important. Recognising ways to do self-care is so valuable to know what works for you!
Books and book-shopping are definitely two that go hand-hand 📚
Love the calmness of this video (not that I dislike the more upbeat ones because I love them as well). I think it’s great that you’re taking time for self care and feeling comfortable enough to share it with us. Hope you’re fall/ winter isn’t too bad.
hope you feel better! being surrounded by books always helps healing 😊
The last book store was just soo beautiful I was like that's not someone's house because it really felt like it. Just so beautiful
I'm so excited to watch this!! Love those kind of videso!!
Early congrats on 400K because I’ll miss it if I don’t say it now-
Jesse, the vibes are immaculate in this video. *chef’s kiss*
We looooove the red and black flannel omg I stan omg
If anyone is looking to adopt a cat (or dog) but is uncertain, might I suggest volunteering for or fostering with a local animal shelter? It's a sort of trial run to see if you're compatible with the feline community. Whether or not you decide to adopt, you will help relieve an overworked system. I won't lie, fostering can be heartbreaking and it's not for everybody, but there are different levels of commitment; you can just help feed kittens, or help walk dogs, or take a healthy animal home for a brief period for, say, socialization, pre-spay/neutering care, or mild injuries. Just something to consider as an option... :)
I'm from a little town in Arkansas near the Texas border and the only book store near me is Books-A-Million. The only other "book store" is the book sections of any thrift shop and a comic bookstore. So for me, it amazes me when people say they have several books stores.
Currently readingg The Shining!!! Almost finished with it!!!
My mental health always struggles post-holidays season, usually mid-January. I'm glad you took a day to take care of yourself! Reading and book-shopping are two of my favorite activities too. Also, I bought that same bookish puzzle at my local indie shop. I can't wait to start it!
oh I LOVE an indie bookstore moment, especially when they give you store credit for your old books!
I really like the voice over you do in this video 👍🏽! Please do more videos using voice over!
Thank you for this video I needed this right now thankful you for being so open about mental health. I had a day yesterday I took myself out to dinner n read did target book shopping and had a peppermint frappe. Love you jesse. I also need that cat in my life btw🤗😉
“America, let’s go for it” LMAO
I needed this video today. I feel so happy right now
You made me feel a lot better today and it's only 11 am. I am currently reading The Secret Circle: The Captive Part II and The Power. Thank you Jesse for making my day better :)
You have such a chill vibe! It'd be cool if u did a QnA sometime!
oh my goodness I love you bookmark!
Yaayy...You did it, thanks for this.
"Magical book moments" quote made me so happy
"That Hideous Strength" is the 3rd book of C.S. Lewis's Space Trilogy. It's 1970's Christian sci-fi. Less lions than Narnia but more linguistics like Tolkien. 😁
If that sounds interesting to you; the first book is "Out of the Silent Planet", the second book is "Perelandra" and then lastly is "That Hideous Strength".
I read the Wonderling quite a few years ago, and I remember loving it! I should probably give it a re-read soon because I don't remember much of what happened, but I would highly recommend it.
I watched the Alex Mack tv show as a kid. Congrats on almost 10 years on youtube!! I love a used bookstore! My favorite one is like 30 to 40 minutes from me but I still go every so often since it isn't too far.
Loved all the Japan and all the Cats in this haul!📚
I love book shoppings vidsss its just weirdly satisfying to me! Also currently re-reading: Burning Maze By Uncle Rick himself
Thanks for this video! It was so much fun! 🥰
I really enjoyed this type of video!
Book prices make me go **shocked Pikachu face**
I have been following you from 5years 🥰🥰🥰
This is amazing . Your so lucky, my town only has one book store
If you end up with a book you already read, it’d make a great gift for someone or take it to a lending library.
I’m going through the same mental thing with the season change
It’s no fun but we’ll all be ok ❤️
Ooooh The Keeper of Night sounds exactly like your kinda book 😌
8:05 I SCREAMED!!! I want to live in that Middle Earth room!!!!!😍🙏
Hope you're kind to yourself as the weather keeps shifting. Enjoyed this and thanks for taking us with you to your time at the bookstores. Happy reading! Currently reading Broken Harbor by Tana French and gonna start the sequel to SkyHunter by Marie Lu called Steelstriker. :)
Great episode. You've recommended several books I want to read now.
omgg I hid that book "The little big book of chills and thrills" behind on that shelf because I had no money on me then and was supposed to come back a day after to buy it. There wasn't another like it so I hid it. I'm glad if someone found it before me then it was you lol Jesse
I've read That Hideous Strength. It is the third book in a trilogy. I enjoyed the first two a lot more, particularly the second one, Perelandra.
Alex mack yes! And aww kitty i want it
Your videos are fun and make a gloomy day into a bright day
Bookish life I love
I’m currently reading Don’t Turn Out The Lights
That cat was too cute 😍😍😍
HERE!
More ❤️❤️❤️
Totally relate when it comes to cats. Been a dog person all my life and all of a sudden I want a cat.
I love the leather bound editions 😅 I’ve purchased 8 so far
you should make a playlist for your lofi music because it slaps
If anyone likes books about major secrets and crime, you should read Pretending To Be Erica (it’s my current read). It’s about this girl Violet who pretends to be Erica (a rich girl who was kidnapped when she was around four) to steal a painting worth millions. That’s what I know so far. It’s kinda dark too
Great Video Jesse I love book shopping videos and those indie bookshops looked so cool and I’m currently reading Fairest By Marissa Meyer I Absolutely Love The Lunar Chronicles Series 🌙📚🌙🙂 Have a Wonderful Day tomorrow Goodnight
Okay I love the Big hero 6 book mark. And yes you should get a cat
You definitely need to get a cat now 😂 loved the voice over while book shopping and you did so well with the vlogging in public! You must have gone early if everything was so empty?
the UK anniversary edition of Addie also has beautiful fan art on the inside, it feels like the US publisher didn't even try with the US anniversary edition xD
Hi, Jesse! I'm currently reading "Cast in Firelight" and enjoying it pretty much so far: I like the magic system, the two protagonists, and the action/crime-driven plot and to top it all off, there is a slow-burning romance including secret identities and a lot of banter. Perfect for me, hehe 😁❤️ Oh, and did I mention the beautiful cover?! 😉
Thank you for the cozy video! I really enjoyed watching your book haul and the glimpse at those Indi bookshops! 😍👍
Currently reading the electric heir and dune
Jesse: honestly the ocean in general terrifies me"
Me: same!
that big hero 6 bookmark is so pretty 👀
Currently reading luck of the titanic by Stacy lee
I have been on a my hero academia and attack on Titan manga kick
This video is making me want to go and spend my day off exploring the bookstores near me that I've been to anxious to visit (parallel parking and the fear that I'll be only only customer in the store)
I loved the cat jesse!!!! You should definitely get one!!!
Omg the Garfield 3 pack took me right back to middle school. I would get these from the library all the time.
I'm currently reading Home Before Dark and by currently reading I mean I haven't started yet because UA-cam rabbit hole 😂
Oh my gosh get a cat, anytime my cat comes and sits with me it helps my anxiety and it's just nice to have a little companion
I have a recommendation. It’s called the inheritance games. It’s young adult I just started it but it’s super good so far def recommend!!😁
The wall of bearded men 😂 THE KITTY
Definitely get a cat. I've got 2 cats, and they are the best reading buddies. My cat Atticus keeps my lap so warm and Daisy keeps my feet warm. My dog won't even sit on the couch with me. Lol
Edit to include a side note: I have that sleeping dragon statue from the first hobbit hole. I've named him Sisco.
Currently reading.. oh god I’m currently in the middle of literally six books bc I have a problem.
The ones I’m really liking so far are: They Never Learn by Layne Fargo (!!!highly recommend) and Norse Mythology by my man Gaiman
And ofc, my constantly ongoing comfort read of the how to train your dragon series💜
I freaking love your bookmark! Big hero six is the bomb movie Baymax is my favorite! I have a stuffed animal of the Baymax!
Id love to take a day off to just read but i can’t cus school, i guess i have to wait until fall break
I think you’re really mentally strong for being able to talk about your anxiety and mental health so easily. I respect that.
As for the cat thing, I think you’re just hyper aware of it. Try thinking, “ i’ve been seeing a lot of boba lately.” And see what happens
I love when bookstores have store cats!
Book shopping and cats all day sounds great. I'm reading Instructions For Dancing.
This kinda made me emotional ‘cause I haven’t been to a bookstore for almost 7-8 months… I hate COVID!
I went to a bookstore everyday for a week consecutively after COVID- My bank account really suffered :’)
@@emxry AAAH I’m so glad you enjoyed. Sorry for the Wallet though
@Star Dreamer thank you
Death note is like the best so the keeper of the night sounds good read thank u for the suggestion 🥰
Currently reading Arsenic and Adobo by Mia P. Manansala. Gonna finish up October with The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman and Anna Dressed In Blood (and if I like it Girl of Nightmares) by Kendare Blake.
I'm currently reading Fünf (five) by Ursula Poznanski, it is a thriller and I'm loving it so far
Now that he says it he does look like Phil Lester lol, now I can’t unsee it
