I've got four of these, one I bought myself for personal use, my work one and 2 that I salvaged from the office when we closed down so as to work from home during Covid lockdown. I have to say that they are _quite_ good, battery life is good, comfort is superb & audio quality is very middle-of-the-road nether terrible nor brilliant. My main one is paired with my mobile and my laptop. The main drawback is the audio overlay. A female voice informs you of *everything* - even when you don't need/want it! Like a lot of people, I'm always flapping around to join Zoom/Teams calls at the last minute. I frantically join, then pop my headset on. When I turn it on its connected and good to go within 4 - 5 seconds.. Great!! The problem is that the headset takes me through _everything_ and I can't hear anything else until it's finished! What it does is it very very slowly says: POWER ON..........TALK TIME..... 5... HOURS.......BLUETOOTH CONNNNNNECTED!.......PHONE 1..... CONNECTED!.........PHONE 2....... CONNECTED! It's so frustrating, everyone on the call is chatting away, probably cracking some joke about me joining late, or right on the dot, but I can't hear them... I'm just listening to a very posh voice telling me things I don't need to hear!
Very nice and thorough review, but something I look for in every review of every type of headphones is comfort in long term usage. Keep them on for an hour at the minimum, 2 would be better, and let us know how your ears feel afterwards. Comfort is a HUGE selling point for myself, and I don't believe I am alone in that regard. Nevertheless, I still learned enough in your review to decide neither one of these are for me lol. Thank you for your service!
Hey Colby Jack! I share the same needs. Two factors are essencial for me, microphone clarity, cancelling external noise and long-term comfort. Please let me know if you came to find the perfect product for you, I'm looking for the perfect headset for work.
@@victoralbuquerque9127 Bose Q25 my man. Expensive, but best headphones I've ever owned and customer service is awesome they will fix, replace, or offer trade ins with huge discounts. Highly recommend.
I like your video and review, thanks; but that headset does not seem to be a Plantronics, it looks more like a replica. The ear tips are not what Plantronics uses in their products, the box does not read Plantronics anywhere and the package contests look quite messy in the box when you unpackaged them.
Great idea to use as remote microphone! Some report a slight lag between audio and video processing using Bluetooth microphone that becomes more apparent on long videos, but that seems device dependent or post processing. Cheers
I second M. GarCia. Great review, especially about fit to ear. I own a VOYAGER, not Legend as reviewed here. I can vouch for Voyager sound quality both in areas with lots of radio frequency interference and outdoors in windy conditions.
Hey Peter, really like the review, but is that the 5200? I have the 5200 and it looks and sounds different than that one? Agreed with Gerardo that the volume, mic tip, and earbuds are not what I received.
Probably too late to respond, but the Blueparrot MX-300XT which is considered to be the Voyager 5200's rival. However many videos compare the two and it seems like the Voyager is much better.

Can't speak to the Legend which is apparently featured here. But can recommend the Voyager. I use for this purpose. Battery life very good. Haven't done benchmark but for medium usage (meaning not back-to-back calls) I can use all day. I especially like it in the car as road notice is filtered.
I bought one of these things which cost over 80 Euro. During the first 4 - 6 months it failed, failure characteristics were: Loss of bluetooth connection, difficulty in reconnecting, tunnel voice. reverberation and voice loss during conversations. Still under warranty I sent it to The Nederland for repair. They replaced it with a reconditioned one..........YES a SECOND HAND ONE. This also failed within the first week with the same issues. Now, 5 days later they are asking what the failure characteristics were...........RIDICULOUS Perhaps they should mention in their warranty papers that if the device fails it will be replaced with a SECOND HAND ONE???
it swivels also, and the boom does 180 turn , i been using these for over 20 yrs . Nasa uses them . this set is great for calls . not for what this guy is doing
That's not a Plantronics.... I have the original Legend and 5200 and they are different from this.... The buttons are at the wrong place... The mic boom also different (original ones is not stainless color but it is black) ... Ear tips also different... The original 5200 sounds way better than this....
So frustrating. I have a Motorola Boom2 and I get so many of my customers saying they can barely hear me or make out what I'm saying. I mean Motorola was like the first around. You'd think they have the most experience making these things. I have to keep shutting my earpiece off in the middle of a conversation because my customer can't hear me well enough. Then I was going to get the one in this review but his recording sounded terrible. What I need is clear calls on both sides. Anyone have a suggestion?
Plus the one you got in your hands is fake, Voyager pro+ has micro usb charging port, Voyager 5200-5220 has both usb and magnetic chargers. The one you hold in your hands must have magnetic charger only, and you showed micro usb charger. Go to Best Buy , find one and you will see a difference between original one ind fake one, the one you had in your hands. Every Plantronics headset has a number on the bottom of the mic.speaker ,same number is on the box, it's like a vin# on the cars. You can register the number on PLT website , for free replacement, will Jabra-POS do that? You are laying, that wasn't an original PLT. There is nothing on the market at this moment, from 2012 better than PLT.

This isn't the Voyager 5200. It's the Voyager Legend.
The Legend has a magnetic mount to charge. It doesn't have a USB port. This is some sort of fake.
Hol up. Why am I watching a review for the LEGEND while your TITLE SAYS Voyager 5200???? WTF is going on here?!

give us the update example when you got HD audio on!!! Do you notice a difference between using the bluetooth dongle vs bluetooth no dongle?
Original PLT is for sale only with clear silicone year bud's, not with black rubber bud's.
