This is my favorite headset. I lost the charger, so it sat in a drawer for 1-1/2 years. I pulled it out one day, turned it on and still had 7 hours talk time charge on it. No kidding. I had forgotten about it, but just got a new charger cable, so now it's the only one I use again. I can hear clearly, and the caller can hear me clearly, when I'm in my noisy diesel truck. I recommend it highly.
Great headset! I've been using it since early October 2014 and wouldn't trade or replace for any other headset. Favorite features. 1. Smart sensor technology. 2. great battery life. 3. Location of the buttons. 4. wind cancelling and noise reduction technology. Definitely a 5 star headset.
Agree. All these big youtuber sometimes don't know how to cover many useful things about the product. They are great talkers, setup is appealing and they make the content look cool but information wise, not so thorough.
I drive Uber and Lyft, I have 2 PLT Legend headsets I have used for driving, both drop bluetooth occasionally, I get "phone one disconnected" Turn it off and back on and it works again. I bought a cheap imitation, a Triumph V8 that looks just like the PLT except the charger is a standard micro usb, not a proprietary connection. The cheap headset has never lost connection to my phone like the PLT does.
Yes I am using it. After lot of bt headsets. My 8 years experience plt voyager legend is better than others. Excellent battery Backup and voice clarity.
Assuming you have no affiliation with Plantronics, I am extremely pleased with your review and illustrations. You pointed out a few things I was not aware of. Great review.
Pair your Voyager Legent with iphone 6 is little difficult but can be done this way- 1-Turn on your headset, 2- Turn on the bluetooth on your iPhone 6 , 3- Press the black button at the bottom (call answaerin button not at the side mute button of ) of microphone bar of the bluetooth headset.
Hi there: This is in response to the PC compatibility issue: I scoured the internet last night and found that the broadcom bluetooth setup is not compatible with my Dell laptop. However, after installing an Intel driver for windows 8, voila, this device became audio compatible.
I like this unit, however, I don’t like that it has a blinking light to indicate charging with 8 seconds between blinks. I find myself looking at it to see if it’s charging. Why not just have a continuous light that changes color when fully charged?
it look excellent, but my question is if I'm using it in my right ear, is possible change to my left ear? in my person is more comfortable listen in my left ear, or I need to ask for that?
Great video! My Voyager Legend will arrive tomorrow! You have mentioned that your website has a some video explaining voice features for this unit but I cannot find any videos on your site. Can you please post them? Thank you.
A newer version is now available which further improves the product. One of the best Bluetooth options available: www.headsetsdirect.com/product/plantronics-voyager-5200-uc-headset/
+hunter man For incoming calls, it should happen automatically if. It may be a phone compatibility issue. I would suggest calling Plantronics tech support at 855-765-7878
thank you for a very guick reply ,i have never done that but i will do it thank you very much, but i was wondering if it happens to alot of people, otherwise an excellent bluetooth if it stays connected.
There is another headset for my left ear which is use wire n need to plug in somwhere, where should i plug in it?i tried to plug in it on my phone n voyager's charge but didn t work Pls help me n sorry for bad english
Hi, I'm wracking my brain trying to figure out how to switch between two calls on my Voyager Legend UC when paird with my iPhone through the headset itself. When I'm on a call and another call comes in, my intuition is to press the call button to place the first call on hold and speak with the second party and then to press the call button again to keep switching between the two parties..... but pressing the call button will DISCONNECT the first call! So the only way I found was to press ACCEPT on my iPhone, to answer the second call will switch the call, but the problem is that the second call will not go to the headset..... so now I need to put the phone to my ear. Pressing SWAP on my iphone again to switch back to the first call will allow me to speak with the first party back on the bluetooth, WHAT IN THE WORLD IS GOING ON? AM I GOING CRAZY? IS IT A PROBLEM WITH MY HEADSET, OR IS THIS JUST A SHORTCOMING ON AN OTHERWISE STELLAR HEADSET??? Using Iphone 6 with IOS 8.
I just got my Voyager Legend and after it's fully charged the automated voice still says just 6 hours. Does everybody else's say "7 hours of talk time remaining"?
Neil Castro Yeah the magnetic charging system in these are terrible. I'd much rather just have a mini USB connection. Other than that, these are amazing headsets.
I'm familiar with the GXP2130 which is not compatible. See our compatibility guide for assistance: www.headsetsdirect.com/grandstream-headsets-everything-you-need-to-know-for-grandstream-telephones/
LFiers this is by far the most confy bluetooth... i cant count how many times i jumped in shower with.... im using the voyager legend since 3 years.... owned 3 diffenrent units... broke the 2 firts by my fault.... by far platronics voyagerlegend is best bluetooth on market... confy....1 hr charging giving u 7 hrs talk time.... and guess what... im using jabra as a spare bluetooth because im using my voyager more than 8 hrs a day on talk time .... while im charging it... using the spare... and the poeples im talkin with... notice every times when i switch to my spare bluetooth....
Great headset, I love it and worked great on windows 7 and under but will NOT work for talking on windows 10 but you can listen through them so if that is what you have in mind better look elsewhere.
It comes with a cable that connects into a USB port. www.headsetsdirect.com/product/plantronics-voyager-legend-bluetooth-headset/ www.headsetsdirect.com/product/plantronics-usb-adapter-legend-89033-01/
Yes, you need a Bluetooth Adapter/Dongle: www.headsetsdirect.com/bt300-bluetooth-usb-adapter.html Some computers will support the Bluetooth profile for audio (very different than data) so a little research may show the adapter is not needed.
But I guess you hypothetically could, but I wouldn't fully stand behind that decision. I mean, you'd have to buy two of them and link them both to the same phone... And that's not to mention feedback or a delay in one over the other, etc., right?
Unfortunately a phone will only pair to 1 audio device at a time. You can have a headset on ear ear, but only one can be active...thus not giving you sounds in both ears. Many dual ear Bluetooth headsets exist now with ear bud designs. Visit: www.headsetsdirect.com/computer-headset-comparison-guide
does anybody know why these things keep disconectig from the phone ,i have to manually push the connect button on my phone to be able to talk or listen on my voyeger ,very annoying
+Ada de Leon You simply press a button on the headset, it triggers your phone and you use voice command to start a call. If you receive a call and have the headset on, you simply say 'answer' or 'ignore' to manage calls.
+HeadsetsDirect Thanks for the video. Can calling others be done by just voice? I work at an eldercenter where a guy has recently purchased this, but he cannot move his arms. Answering is fine, he wish to start calls from voice.
+jrydland Consult your phone for voice features...but on an iPhone, you can activate the 'Hey Siri' feature and use voice commands to initiate calls. 'Hey Siri...call 888-888-8888' for example. The headset should stay as the default device...thus accomplishing what you need.
My voyager just stopped asking to accept or decline a call, still announces the caller, but I have to physically touch my phone to accept or decline, not good while driving....what do you suggest?
+Linda Baugh Try removing the headset as a device from your phones Bluetooth configuration and pair again. Take an incoming call and see what happens. If that doesn't fix it, you will need to replace the headset.
one big disadvantage of Plantronics, I have one 25 months and the battery gone dead. I can throw the headset in the garbage, because you can not change or renew the battery.
That sounds like a Bluetooth connection/profile conflict. Some PC's have Bluetooth for data only and not audio., which is what a headset requires. When that happens, you can purchase a dongle to pair with the headset and plug into your PC. www.headsetsdirect.com/bt300-bluetooth-usb-adapter.html
I've had 20+ BT headsets, & the Plantronics Voyager Legend is the best of all of them. Several yrs old now, but still a top gadget.
This is my favorite headset. I lost the charger, so it sat in a drawer for 1-1/2 years. I pulled it out one day, turned it on and still had 7 hours talk time charge on it. No kidding. I cannot get my headset to say "Answer or Ignore" I just says incoming call. Then I manually need to push answer. I have a Galaxy J3 Prime
This guy needs to teach the internet how to do a product review
Agree. All these big youtuber sometimes don't know how to cover many useful things about the product. They are great talkers, setup is appealing and they make the content look cool but information wise, not so thorough.
Agreed, he made simple points. He stuck to the points. He made the entiore message about ME. Excellent.
Yes, I agree with you Guy Austin 110%. Very professional yet easy to comprehend. Easy instructions and know how. Thanks, HeadsetsDirect.
I got one for xmas and i really love it. This is my second Plantronics bluetooth headset and they work great.
2019 and I'm digging the review. Prob buying one for my wife this week.
I love mine, very advanced and futuristic technology packed into this little guy
Yes I am using it. After lot of bt headsets. My 8 years experience plt voyager legend is better than others. Excellent battery Backup and voice clarity.
Thanks for such an informative review which answers so many questions!
I've spoken to rep's over at HeadsetsDirect and they are friendly polite and professional! HIghly recommend buying from them!
Assuming you have no affiliation with Plantronics, I am extremely pleased with your review and illustrations. You pointed out a few things I was not aware of. Great review.
Always glad to help. We are free to offer any product by any manufacturer we believe in.
Pair your Voyager Legent with iphone 6 is little difficult but can be done this way-

Very useful review! I love this product

Smart sensor will only work for a little over one year. It happen on 2 of my Legend and to my friend too.
I like this unit, however, I don’t like that it has a blinking light to indicate charging with 8 seconds between blinks. I find myself looking at it to see if it’s charging. Why not just have a continuous light that changes color when fully charged?
Very Nice visual review, many thanks.
Just mine from my local Frys this month. A lot still to figure out, but sweet.
Thanks. Ordering it now. =)
it look excellent, but my question is if I'm using it in my right ear, is possible change to my left ear? in my person is more comfortable listen in my left ear, or I need to ask for that?
All headsets are made for either ear. You simply rotate the mic to the other side and flip to your opposite ear.
Good information, thank you!!!
Great video! My Voyager Legend will arrive tomorrow! You have mentioned that your website has a some video explaining voice features for this unit but I cannot find any videos on your site. Can you please post them? Thank you.

I just bought one, it's better than the Motto elite flip it replaced
How does the headset work with someone wearing glasses? Doesn't seem to fit properly when doing so or are we doing it wrong?
great review!
awesome demonstration & presentation. me likey. :)
7 years later is this bluetooth still a viable option?
A newer version is now available which further improves the product. One of the best Bluetooth options available:
www.headsetsdirect.com/product/plantronics-voyager-5200-uc-headset/
Mine is not working like that
Can this headset be used for voice recognition software use on a PC? For example using it with Dragon NaturallySpeaking 12.5 on a PC with Bluetooth ?
Are these able to play media? Music? UA-cam? Etc
Yes. This headsets has the A2DP profile which is required for streaming music.
Have you heard anything about the next generation of Legend coming this May?
+Murdocc Saunders Yes, it's the Voyager 5200. Click below:
www.headsetsdirect.com/voyager-5200-bluetooth-headset.html
I keep spending so much money on these. Less than a year and it won't pair. Button won't work too cut calls off.
Excellent review thank you
How do you get the headset to access you phone contacts for call announcement?
+hunter man For incoming calls, it should happen automatically if. It may be a phone compatibility issue. I would suggest calling Plantronics tech support at 855-765-7878
I already have a 5200 that died, will this one recognize and connect to that old USB dongle?
No, they are not compatible.
Can we use it for making you tube videos
You could, but I would consider headsets with a mic boom extending to the edge of your mouth for better audio quality.
thank you for a very guick reply ,i have never done that but i will do it thank you very much, but i was wondering if it happens to alot of people, otherwise an excellent bluetooth if it stays connected.

How to play music with it ? On iPhone
You simply pair it to your phone and it becomes your speakers. When you play music, it will come through the headset.
Can you put it on either ear left and right.
Yes, you rotate the mic and speaker for use on either ear.

Using Iphone 6 with IOS 8.
Give Plantronics tech support a call for assistance. 855-765-7878
Can you use it for your left ear?
Yes, the mic and speak rotate to accommodate either ear.
I just got my Voyager Legend and after it's fully charged the automated voice still says just 6 hours. Does everybody else's say "7 hours of talk time remaining"?
+dynosaur my understanding is that it is literally TALK time. so active use, not just idle and resting on your ear.
Neil Castro Yeah the magnetic charging system in these are terrible. I'd much rather just have a mini USB connection. Other than that, these are amazing headsets.
How do u pair it?
www.headsetsdirect.com/plantronics-voyager-legend-bluetooth-pairing-instructions/
it's a awesome head set
Does this work with Grandstream GX2130
I'm familiar with the GXP2130 which is not compatible. See our compatibility guide for assistance:
www.headsetsdirect.com/grandstream-headsets-everything-you-need-to-know-for-grandstream-telephones/
Is this comfortable on your ears? I have fairly large ears. Thanks.
It is and should fit fine. It has rubber at the top of the ear piece/ear loop which is very flexible.
***** Okay, thanks a lot!
LFiers this is by far the most confy bluetooth... i cant count how many times i jumped in shower with.... im using the voyager legend since 3 years.... owned 3 diffenrent units... broke the 2 firts by my fault.... by far platronics voyagerlegend is best bluetooth on market... confy....1 hr charging giving u 7 hrs talk time.... and guess what... im using jabra as a spare bluetooth because im using my voyager more than 8 hrs a day on talk time .... while im charging it... using the spare... and the poeples im talkin with... notice every times when i switch to my spare bluetooth....

www.headsetsdirect.com/product/plantronics-voyager-legend-bluetooth-headset/
www.headsetsdirect.com/product/plantronics-usb-adapter-legend-89033-01/
What about using it for voip lines connected to your pc/Mac?
Will work great as long as your computer has a Bluetooth profile for audio. Some devices only use Bluetooth for data.
+HeadsetsDirect how is the call quality however?
The Voyager has always been one of Plantronics best headsets when it comes to battery life, features and quality.
Does anyone know how to sync this one up with a PC? Is the an adaptor maybe?
Yes, you need a Bluetooth Adapter/Dongle:
www.headsetsdirect.com/bt300-bluetooth-usb-adapter.html
Some computers will support the Bluetooth profile for audio (very different than data) so a little research may show the adapter is not needed.
Can someone tell me if it's reversible for wearing on the left ear please? Nobody seems to be mentioning this
Yes, all Plantronics headsets are wearable for either ear.
can this only go on one ear, or can i adjust it to go to both?
It only fits on one ear at a time, but can be configured for either ear by simply rotating the ear piece and mic.
But I guess you hypothetically could, but I wouldn't fully stand behind that decision. I mean, you'd have to buy two of them and link them both to the same phone... And that's not to mention feedback or a delay in one over the other, etc., right?

Hello, I was wondering how I set this headset with an AVAYA 9611/9641 set? Thank you for your time.
You would need the following:

www.headsetsdirect.com/38734-11-apv-63-ehs-cable-savi-headsets-avaya.html
This headset sounds fantastic. Is this comfortable with glasses?
I use it with glasses and there is no interference physically/visually.
Can I add to other devices eg ipad
Yes, it can pair to multiple devices. It has Multipoint technology which will allow you to pair two phones and answer calls from either one.
does anybody know why these things keep disconectig from the phone ,i have to manually push the connect button on my phone to be able to talk or listen on my voyeger ,very annoying
Try un-pairing/removing it from your phone and reconnecting it. That will typically resolve any connection issues.
my daddy gave me the plt legend
How do make a call with it
+David Fountain Press the 'call control button' on the headset for most features.
how do you charge this i wanna use it in my ride
It comes with charging cables for USB and A/C power.
Nice...thanks
will this work with bluetooth 4.0
Yes, it is compatible.
How to pairing with the phone?0
www.headsetsdirect.com/plantronics-voyager-legend-bluetooth-pairing-instructions/
is it waterproof
Many of the Plantronics Voyager series of headsets are sweat proof, not necessary waterproof where you can submerge them in water.
What do you do when you want to call someoone and you're in the car. Can this call them hands free
+Ada de Leon You simply press a button on the headset, it triggers your phone and you use voice command to start a call. If you receive a call and have the headset on, you simply say 'answer' or 'ignore' to manage calls.
thanks
+HeadsetsDirect Thanks for the video. Can calling others be done by just voice? I work at an eldercenter where a guy has recently purchased this, but he cannot move his arms. Answering is fine, he wish to start calls from voice.

Can I charge it while Im using it? Essentially I need this for longer then 7 hours a day with little to no interruption.
You can charge it between calls but not while you are wearing it. The Legend sits in a magnetized cradle to charge.
How long does it take to charge to full?
My voyager just stopped asking to accept or decline a call, still announces the caller, but I have to physically touch my phone to accept or decline, not good while driving....what do you suggest?
+Linda Baugh Try removing the headset as a device from your phones Bluetooth configuration and pair again. Take an incoming call and see what happens. If that doesn't fix it, you will need to replace the headset.
very good
hOW DO U KNOW WHEN CHARGED ITS IN NOW SHOWING RED COLOR FOR PLANTRONICS VOYGER PRO?????
Charging - Solid red. When fully charged, LED is off.
Battery status - Low = 2 red flashes, Recharge = 3 red flashes
Pairing mode - Flashes red/blue
one big disadvantage of Plantronics, I have one 25 months and the battery gone dead. I can throw the headset in the garbage, because you can not change or renew the battery.
Everything thing is as advertised.. however it makes my ears stick out like dumbo 😀
Put it on ur left ear.....
The headset is just about unusable when paired with a PC. It give out a LOUD static pop ever 10 seconds or so.
This headset can not call any of your contacts in the phone.....You can not say call such and such this is a hugh downfall of the product
Nice
