Gem said Ttek in blue team, but nope: Goggles in blue team has always used the vshot which has splashdown as its special. The frame where it looked like there were 2 inkjets is just 1 inkjet from the Enperry and a normal splattershot shot angled weirdly that it looks like an inkjet in the air.

To be fair to Goggles, 70% of his Splashdowns are done from super jumping to his teammates, while his teammates (usually Specs, the brush player) bait one or more opponents in. And he does get canceled by some of the better opponents.

@@sey_81 I can't remember if X-Blood does, but I know Emperor does (with an Inkjet no less, which is actually something I've done before, believe it or not)
@@sey_81No they do not. The only instances of splashdown cancels that I remember are by another splashdown. Not sure about the cancel by inkjet; i will have to check that.

Bobble hat is always making the 😄face. I think she will sometimes change the mouth, but it mostly stays the same. It is sometimes played for laughs like in the example with the bomb launcher and her being in Tartar's blender. Awful things happening contrasted to her (seemingly inappropriate) reaction
...also I'm pretty sure that Goggle's team in this part was team Blueperor because Emperor stood in for Specs after the latter got hurt.

I love how Gem is playing the weapons featured in the Manga issue and how you can easily tell which one is his main.
The least realistic part of the manga is Goggles spamming Splashdown and NEVER getting punished for it

11:54 for this question right here. I believe you didnt read Team blue vs Team cyan (Mask's team), wich is the battle she explains why she's always smiling. The reason she's always SO happy it's bc she's just having fun with her friends (aka team blue), so she doesn't really care when they're losing or something similar...
After all it's just friendly battles, and they're just there to have fun :)

I hope he makes something on the S4, I NEED him to talk about them and their weapons. I need him to see how goofy they are, I want him to talk about the team's synergy with one another in Splat 2 or 3. Something with the S4 so I can see what he thinks of them.

The only instance of sub-weapons is during the S4 arc, where Mask’s entire team uses sub-weapons to kill and only uses their main weapons to paint. They are still considered a very strong team. Please make the second video.

Honestly the splatoon manga kinda describes the feeling you have when you play the game for the first time. Yeah it doesnt make sence that all the bombs fall at the same time and that the enemy team is already attacking again BUT i remember being so extremely confused on my first few games cause everything just happened so fast and i was overwhelmed im every way possible - so i guess it kinda fits pretty well :D
The real challenge would be rewriting the matches to play out more sensibly to what it would look like in-game.
Lke, I could see the team super jumping out while the one remaining teammbember avoids thte bombs and then provides a jump back in. As a more game-accurate method of juggling players to avoid massive aoe.
There was a part in one of the manga's where Goggles ripped his shirt flexing his muscles. Yeah I know it sounds crazy, but I'm pretty sure it happened.
With how many times he forgets to dress, it doesnt sound that crazy.
At least, it doesnt sound more crazy than skull basically being an ink-vac for dessert.
In defence of meme teams, i remember hearing that the highest any western team got in Area Cup for ages was Bocut nation running double splattling double Junior which is objectively funny

It's called bomb launch in splatoon 2 I'm pretty sure
it's a successor to bomb rush, so competitive players call it that to be more concise

Sub weapons were relevant in team blue against team cyan (mask from the s4) in volume 2. team clam had a tactic called "sub weapon armageddon" a tactic team blue hadn't seen before. Bobble hat even says "It's not fair play" to which Mask replies "It's strategy!" This shows how irrelevant sub weapons seem to be to team blue and the only ones ever mentioned again (that I can think of at the moment) are curling bombs (as seen in team blue vs team outcasts, and it's a curling bomb launcher) and autobombs because they're cute. Hope this (sort of) explains why there are never any subs here. :)
Gem, for the sake of your sanity, i feel you are going to go insane if you continue analyzing the manga.
Like, compare the Dragonball anime/manga vs the fighting games. The combos people pull off during any tournament never happen during the anime, otherwise fight would actually last even less then a minute compared to 10 episodes or more.
Try ignoring the game a little bit. For example, the dodge rolls, would the limit be 2 for dapples IRL?(how would you even regulate such a thing in a tourney?) would all players walk or swim the same default speed? What if some weapons malfunction during the game or have slight offset given they are not well maintained; I think even special activation would differ from person to person too, some may be faster given faster time reaction, while other may be slow.
What i am trying to say is that it is just something to sit and enjoy like the mario movie. The more you overthink the less fun it gets.
Well the dodge rolls would definitely be 2 still. The way dodge rolls work, and the reason dualies are the only weapons that can do so, yet all dodge roll differently, is because they shoot high pressurized ink to generate momentum, and then have to cool down. This would be the same in this "real" setting too because it's a canonical restriction, not a gameplay restriction.
The gear is a little harder to pin down but I honestly think the easiest way to interpret it is that gear is a gameplay mechanism to choose your inkling's implicit characteristics. Like, it's not literally that the shirt makes you swim faster, it's that canonically an inkling wearing 3 mains of swim speed up was just born a fast inkling, and the game chooses to let you switch those traits with gear. Like, in the real life scenario, you would've just been born an inkling who was faster at swimming/running, or you have good eyesight and hand eye coordination so you're better at aiming a blaster in midair with intensify, or you have a knack for throwing bombs, etc...

Even other games that had manga adaptation from games have to deviate in a way from the game material, it can never be a perfect copy.

I mean to be fair Goggles once won a match partially by LEAVING TO GO EAT CURRY, confusing the leader of the other team so bad they just kinda stood around like a gaggle of morons.
Goggles consistently wins by just ass pulling so hard that the enemy team's brains just get fried for the length of his shenanigans

The one duplicate you didn't mention I recall from Chara's history of Splatoon meta videos is that Splatoon 2 had triple Tri-slosh be meta for a period early on in that games life span.
The other medium I suspect you could depict it is turn based tactical RPGs like Disgaea.
...Just don't do it to the prinnies unless you plan on exploding them. They tend to explode when treated that way.

I miss moray towers so much.
Imagine bringing it back with squid surge, bounce pads, inkrails (the rails, not the zipline ones we have right now) and other singleplayer/shifty station things like the folding yoga mats, rolling tubes and such.
They then could have a vertical stage made for squid surging with plenty of things to help short range users to not be at some disadvantage.

actually tried getting quad inkstorm with quad bloblobber, really fun weapon to have multiple of but admittedly not that good.
There’s a burst bomb+teammate combo in the first issue I am quite sure, since you mentioned there was no reference to sub weapons in the manga 😊

Btw, the Ranger’s comp is worse when you remember that the only way to get a different main ability on your gear in S2 is to randomly find it in the Splatnet shop, and that all of the Ranger’s headgear, the Null Visor Replica, is never found in the Splatnet shop because it’s exclusive to Octo Expansion. Meaning they’re forced to use the main ability of Special Power Up for all of their players, which would probably not work well due to them using Suction Bomb Rush. I don’t remember what SPU does to that special, but I doubt it would help them that much.
It makes the special last an extra 0.6 seconds, so maybe enough time to throw one more bomb per person.
