Laurie's was neater and I feel like it was more organized, but I feel like Kevin's better this time. The design is just so beautiful, with the copper leaves and blue! Maybe it could've been neater, but overall it's excellent for his second cake! Love these videos

You totally need to do this challenge again with Kevin. Next time though you should each get the same supplies and see what each of your different designs and styles end up being. Honestly, I was pretty impressed with Kevin's cake though!

Kevin's getting really good at this!! He's got really good ideas. His icing is smooth. He just needs to work on being a little more precise with the finish work. But dang, man, for this being his second cake, I'm impressed!!

I think Laurie's looks more professional and put-together, but Kevin's looks more like something you would see at a wedding. I feel like Laurie's cake would do well at a birthday party or a baby shower.

Hah okay so I played it 6 times with my husband and 4 out of the 6 he used rock.
but he wanted me to make sure I included that I lost 5 out of the 6 hah💁♀️
I always pick rock, not for any weird machismo reason, but because I'm lazy and I don't want to have to change my hand shape at all. Plus I've noticed that people rarely pick paper, so I have a better chance of a win or draw than a loss.
I would absolutely love to see you guys have full access to all equipment, but have a similar theme/moodboard to work from. I find it's more interesting to see when everyone can use their full potential!

Fun video!! Laurie's is my favorite, so beautiful and understated. Kevin did a really great job for someone who isn't a professional baker...it's not that easy to get a smooth cake and then put together a design that works. Both good!
I love Kevin's. The use of the copper dripping over the blue was a perfect contrast. This was a great challenge! I could see doing this again, with catagory choices, like color randomizer, multiple tiers... there is sooo many options that could happen!

It's honestly so hard to choose a favorite, they're both so good!! I think it would be interesting to do a video where you both have the same tools/decorations, to see how differently you both decide to use them? Maybe with a blinder in the middle of the table, so you can't see the other's cake?
I would love to see this challange done again, but where you actually get to choose all 10 things to use, so no handicap. Or have you pick eachothers items. Or where you do the randomized things, but you get to choose 1 item first, before its all random.
The real winner is the viewer who gets to enjoy these funny back and forth interactions between you and your husband. This was so fun to watch!!!!

Kevin was BANG ON with that color combo, it's so... rustic? I liked his idea of the rough edge on top too, if he had put those leaves in the middle and then filled the rest of the top with blueberries it would have made a spectacular summer cake.
My husband and I play rock paper scissors when we have to do chores or one of us has to get up to do something and let me tell you I read that same article and it worked! He picked rock 90 percent of the time for the longest time but then he started figuring out I was picking paper all the time so he started picking scissors, and now we are so deep into the psychological aspect of rock paper scissors that its basically fair again 😂

Love love these videos, prehapes a way of picking items is asigning each item a card (from a deck of cards), you could then also categorise cards to make sure you get an even pick of tools, colours and decorations!
Sorry Laurie but I love Kevin’s cake. I thought the denim blue was going to be too dark but the copper was really beautiful against it. 💙

Laurie, please teach us how to get a perfectly smooth frosting surface on a cake! Including how to tell if your frosting is the correct consistency for those ultra smooth sides and sharp edges!

I love your videos, however I have to say it feels very weird that the videos just start with no intro, even just something like “hey everyone I’m Laurie and today Kevin and I’m going head to head to see who can decorate a cake the best” I always end up going back 2 or 3 times to see if I missed part of the video and then it’s just like no that’s where it starts🙈

Both cakes looks amazing, but i can relate better to Kevins cake in terms of decorate it :) I think he did a awesome job and deserves the confidence that he got. I really like Kevin’s cake I just wish it had a vibrant splash of color as an accent, like a neon pink or green. Laurie’s cake feels very light and whimsical with the colors, sprinkles, and ginormous flower, so I’m gonna have to give her the W😁

Ive never ever used the term "relationship goals", but if I did - it would definitely be used on you two. ❤ On another note, Kevin's a natural at this. I think his biggest and possibly only downfall is not being educated on the use of certain products. If he watched a few videos though, you'd be in trouble.

I know I gave you an idea in the last video. I have another, Kevin would you be up to doing a cake competition with a one star bakery?
You could also do this again but put a board between the two of you so you can see what the other person is doing. Each of you would have the same items. Maybe you have a friend that could put together the items needed. Put these items in a bag so neither one knows what they will have to work with. Both decorate away and more importantly have fun.
Although you both have great cakes, I like the color contrast of Kevin’s. Ya’ll are cute together! ☺️
